Wizard: I'm leveling up by AFK in another world
Chapter 22 Placing Clones, Enrolling in School
Claire navigated through the familiar maze of pipes and arrived at the metal office of the "External Circulation Maintenance and Waste Disposal Department".
Half a month has passed, and naturally nothing has changed here; it remains as dark and damp as before.
The office door was ajar.
Claire pushed him away, but then paused, stunned.
A stranger sat behind the desk, staring gloomily at the mountain of documents piled on it.
Hearing the door open, the man looked up and saw Claire, his expression darkening further.
"What are you doing here?" His voice was very unfriendly. "This is a restricted area. Unauthorized personnel, get out..."
Claire showed the card she had received yesterday; the bright silver maple leaf emblem on it immediately silenced the other person.
"Where is the manager, Borg?"
Upon hearing this, the other person was taken aback, and their gaze towards Claire became complicated.
"He was arrested by the military police, apparently on suspicion of colluding with the Sea Clan rebels."
Claire was speechless for a moment.
Why are there sea creature spies everywhere I go? What are the administrators of this colony doing?
"Okay, what about Old Jack? You should know him, right?"
"He wasn't much better off; he's suspected of harboring rebels. But he escaped quickly, and the military police didn't catch him. I don't know what's become of him now."
"..."
Claire paused for a moment, then took out the gold-embossed envelope and handed it to the new supervisor.
The new supervisor looked down and saw several large, flamboyant characters next to the wax seal.
Mario Charles.
This is the signature of a certified wizard, carrying a trace of the spiritual imprint of a certified wizard.
"What can I do for you? If you need anything, I will do my best to help you." The new manager smiled ingratiatingly.
Although he didn't know what the young man in front of him was after, he dared not disobey the will of a formal wizard.
Claire took back the envelope: "My mentor sent me to collect some live specimens of the Shadow Anemone."
The identity of this so-called mentor is self-evident.
"Okay, okay! No problem! I'll prepare the best diving suit and collection equipment for you right away!"
Having successfully obtained the equipment, Claire dived down to the third drainage outlet.
It's still the same here.
He touched the fishbone knife at his waist, the last gift old Jack had left him.
"I hope you survive."
Regaining her composure, Claire summoned her clone from the control panel.
A streak of grayish-brown light emerged from the shadows beneath his feet and then obediently clung to the outer wall of the pipe.
Next, as long as he leaves the Blue Ocean Realm, this clone will automatically absorb magic power from the waste liquid and then convert it into spiritual power through basic meditation.
However, he also needs to find a way to earn some magic stones so that he can buy a water-based meditation technique as soon as possible.
Basic meditation methods are not only inefficient for this sea creature clone, but also carry the risk of contamination.
Claire erased her lingering scent, took one last look at "Hura," and turned to leave.
……
……
Grey Amber Wizarding Academy.
The small star shuttle flew through the towering spires and landed in a wide square.
As soon as it landed, it attracted envious and awe-inspiring glances from the crowds passing by in the square.
The gangway descended, and two men and one woman stepped down.
"Elena, you never mentioned your brother had a private starship," Rhodes said, his face full of fascination. "Are you two core members of the family?"
Elena shook her head: "I really don't know."
"He's supposed to be my older brother, but he's much older than me... I only found out I had such an older brother after I was promoted to junior apprentice."
"We've only known each other for three months, so I can say I don't know him at all. After all, he's a formal wizard, someone I have to look up to, even if we're siblings. Of course, as you can see, he is indeed very good to me."
"Well, this is indeed quite common in large wizarding families," Rhodes said, shrugging.
He started telling Elena amused stories about wizarding families that he'd heard somewhere, making her giggle.
After exchanging a few words, they arrived at the Academic Affairs Office.
A red-robed apprentice was idly playing with his wand at his workstation when he saw Elena walk in, and his spirits immediately lifted.
He stood up, his face beaming with smiles, and quickly went to greet him.
"Elena, it's been a long time! I heard that Lord Marius took you on a training trip to another world; it must have been a very interesting experience!"
"Hello, Karl," Elena replied casually. "I'm here to help my friend enroll in school."
"friend?"
Karl then noticed Claire and Rhodes following behind Elena.
His gaze swept over the two of them.
The two people looked a few years older than Elena, and their clothes were very ordinary, even shabby.
Most importantly, the magical energy fluctuations emanating from the two were only at the level of novice apprentices.
"I understand." Karl's smile remained unchanged. "The academy has a rule that freshmen can only bring one servant to school. But don't worry, I have a way to handle it. As long as you agree to my request from last time..."
"Servants?" Elena frowned. "You've got it wrong. Those two aren't my servants; they're here to enroll like me!"
"Also, don't bring up what happened last time. I've already made it clear that I have no interest whatsoever."
Karl's smile froze on his face.
"Well, Elena, you haven't forgotten that the minimum requirement for admission to the academy is intermediate apprenticeship," he sneered. "Your two friends clearly don't meet that requirement."
Snapped!
As soon as she finished speaking, Elena slammed the two envelopes onto the table.
Carl paused for a moment, then looked down.
Immediately afterward, his pupils contracted sharply as he looked at Claire and Rod in disbelief.
These two even have letters of recommendation! Official letters of recommendation signed by wizards themselves!
This represents the approval of a formal wizard, an undeniable authority.
"This...this..." His voice trembled, his previous arrogance completely gone. "Miss Elena, I'm sorry...I was blind..."
"Let's get the paperwork done." Elena couldn't be bothered to listen to his nonsense. "Don't waste our time."
"Yes! Yes! Right away!"
Carl returned to his workstation in a panic and began writing frantically.
The apprentices who had been waiting to see the spectacle withdrew now, secretly glancing at Claire and Rhodes, and muttering to themselves.
Karl was really unlucky. These two looked unremarkable, so who would have thought they would receive a recommendation from a formal wizard?
Looking at Claire and Rod, who were engrossed in filling out forms, Carl felt a deep sense of regret.
He should have been careful, but his desire to get close to Elena led him to speak carelessly.
If you can get a recommendation from a certified wizard, you'll generally achieve great things once you're in the academy, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
If you offend this kind of person, they'll hold a grudge, and you'll have a hard time in the future.
As Karl pondered, a strange meaning gradually emerged in his gaze as he looked at the two of them.
