"Gurgle, gurgle—!!!"

Skala let out a sharp screech, a signal to summon all the warriors.

In less than a minute, more than fifty kobold warriors stormed into the central hall.

Some of them carried broken knives, some held spears, and some only carried wooden sticks, but all of them had fierce eyes and their scales were stained with the blood of some unknown animal.

"Boss! What's going on?" The strongest level 3 kobold warrior squeezed to the front, panting heavily.

Scarla stood on the altar, looking down at them.

"There are invaders," its voice was hoarse but powerful, "and they are slaughtering our people. What do you say we do?"

"Kill him!" shouted a kobold.

"Eat him!" another chimed in.

"Twist off your head and use it as a chamber pot!"

Scala nodded in satisfaction.

"That's right. Invaders have broken into our territory, killed our people, and plundered our property—this is a provocation against our entire tribe!" It raised the wooden stick with the skull tied to it, its voice growing louder and louder.

Are you scared?

"Don't be afraid!"

"Do you dare to fight?"

"dare!"

"Kill the intruder, the meat is yours, the equipment is yours, and the gold is yours too!" Skala roared. "I just want his head to hang above my bed as a decoration!"

"Hiss hiss hiss—!!!"

The kobold warriors roared in unison, their morale soaring.

Skala jumped off the altar and waved his hand.

"Follow me!"

More than fifty kobold warriors of various ranks followed it into the passage, followed by three or four hundred ordinary kobolds—a vast and mighty force, like a brown tide.

They moved quickly along the passage, the screams growing louder and louder.

After turning a corner, the place ahead is where Skara sensed the battle earlier.

"Stop!" Scala raised his claws.

All the kobolds stopped in their tracks.

Scala strained his ears to listen—there was no sound in the passageway ahead. An eerie silence.

It frowned and gestured for a level 2 and several level 1 kobolds to go forward and scout ahead.

The kobolds had just poked their heads out when suddenly—

"hiss--!"

A ghastly green beam of light shot out, and the head at the very front exploded, the corpse collapsing limply to the ground.

The remaining few screamed in fright and turned to run away.

But there's no escaping it.

Several more beams of light struck, and they all collapsed.

Scarla's face turned ashen.

"Charge!" it waved its paw. "Attack together! He's alone!"

The kobold warriors roared and charged out.

Skara blended into the middle of the group, cast a [Mage Armor] on himself, and gripped the wooden stick tightly.

It wanted to see who dared to trespass on its territory.

……

Lance has already killed more than two hundred kobolds.

A rumbling sound of footsteps came from the end of the passage.

The sound grew closer and louder, like hundreds of people running at the same time.

Drak gripped his battle axe tightly, his mustache twitching: "Goodness, what a commotion..."

"Around four hundred." Lance checked through the scout mosquitoes. "About fifty of them are of different levels, mostly level 1 or 2."

Logan said cautiously, "Four hundred?! Lord Lance, shouldn't we make a strategic retreat?"

Lance ignored him.

"Why are you running?" Greta glanced at him expressionlessly, but her grip on the sword tightened.

Finn silently nocked an arrow, saying nothing, but his gaze drifted toward Lance.

Cielsa moved closer to Lance, drew her scimitar, and her purple eyes were full of vigilance.

Only Little Black remained perched on Lance's shoulder, its tail swishing back and forth, as calm as if it were strolling through a market.

Meow~

"You also think it's not a big problem?" Lance scratched its chin.

Little Black licked its paws but didn't say anything.

Lance smiled as he looked at their tense expressions.

"What's the panic? I can take care of them all by myself, let alone with you guys."

He raised his hand.

[Mage Armor!]

The Bear's Resilience!

The power of the bull!

The elegance of cats!

[Apply oil to the soles of your feet!]

[Divine Guidance Technique!]

[Blessing Spell!]

[Silver Light's Sharp Words!]

[Boost resistance!]

……

A series of buff spells were cast on the Iron Fist team and Sissa.

Drak felt his muscles swell, and power surged forth: "This...this is a long-lost feeling, it's exhilarating!"

Logan gripped the dagger, feeling his fingers were ten times more dexterous than before: "Holy crap... this is the first time I've ever received a mage's buff spell."

Greta stretched her shoulders, said nothing, but a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.

Then Lance began casting a spell again.

[Secondary Elemental Guardian - Fire!]

A spark flew from his fingertip, condensed and expanded in the air, and finally turned into a flickering flame.

The flame hovered above his left shoulder, radiating a warm light.

[Secondary Elemental Guardian Spirit - Wind!]

A tiny vortex rose from his right palm, swirled, expanded, and finally became a swirling breeze.

A gentle breeze hovered above his right shoulder, making a slight whistling sound.

The kobolds are here.

The first to charge was a level 2 kobold warrior, its scales dark brown, clutching a rusty machete. Its eyes lit up the moment it saw Lance—

Based on its limited experience, such beautiful humans... must taste delicious!

Sprint, sprint, sprint!

You can eat it once you twist off its head!

It roared and charged forward, moving as fast as the wind.

Then it died.

Lance unleashed a [Magic Blast], precisely piercing the kobold's head.

The remaining level one ones won't escape either.

More kobolds emerged.

Ten.

Twenty.

Thirty.

……

They screamed and roared as they surged out of the passage like a brown tide.

Lance narrowed his eyes.

The fire spirit and the wind spirit trembled simultaneously.

The flaming arrow shot at the level 1 kobold on the left—piercing its chest.

The wind blade slashed at the level 1 kobold on the right—its head flew off.

Another fire arrow was fired, and the level 2 kobold fell.

The wind blade flew again, and the level 1 kobold was killed.

The Fire Spirit and Wind Spirit were like two sniper rifles, precisely targeting and killing every leveled kobold.

The ordinary kobolds screamed and charged forward, but Lance didn't even look at them.

[Burning Hand!]

Blazing flames erupted from his palm, sweeping across the passage in a fan shape. The dozen or so ordinary kobolds at the forefront were instantly turned into fireballs, screaming and rolling on the ground.

[Magic Missile!]

Three pale blue energy blasts flew out, automatically tracking three level 1 kobolds hiding behind them—headshots, chestshots, and stomachshots, all in one smooth motion.

[Magic Blast!]

A ghastly green beam pierced through a level 2 kobold that was trying to raise its shield—the shield failed to stop it, and a hole exploded in its chest.

[Aard Sign!]

An invisible force field swept past, and the five ordinary dog-headed people huddled together were sent flying like bowling pins, crashing into the wall with muffled thuds. They were already dead when they slid down.
