After seeing Seth off, Irving saw the progress bar on the equipment panel in front of him jump another step.

He never imagined that the pawnshop business would be so easy to make money from.

Just as Irving was preparing to unleash his full potential and eagerly awaiting the next customer.

The doorbell rang again.

Irving was full of anticipation.

Unexpectedly, an old black man barged in.

When Irving saw that the other person was wearing stockings on their head and had a black, crooked-handled gun at their waist, his heart sank.

Sure enough, before Irving could make a move, the black man pulled out a black Type 96 pistol from his waist and pointed it at Irving.

"Hey, hands up!! If you dare move, I'll smash your head in!!"

Seeing this, Irving's lips twitched, and he obediently raised his hands.

To be honest, he had seen "free purchase" quite a few times.

But experiencing it firsthand... this is the first time.

Irving stood still, showing no intention of calling the police or taking out the shotgun from under the counter to engage in a firefight.

He didn't want to gamble on whether the gun Old Black was carrying was real, even though the "free purchase" offer at the pawn shop in broad daylight was most likely fake.

But Irving didn't want to take any risks.

He has just taken over the pawnshop, and the items on the counter and shelves are all worthless second-hand goods. He basically lets people take whatever they want, and they don't get much money from it.

Seeing that Irving was very cooperative, the old man didn't make things too difficult for him and hurriedly left with the three lawnmowers.

Seeing the other person grin and leave with a full set of white teeth, Irving finally breathed a long sigh of relief.

If he wasn't mistaken, those three portable lawnmowers cost only a little over $30, and their cost price was estimated to be only a dozen dollars.

I guess this big black guy can't count, and he probably thinks that the larger the quantity of something, the higher the price.

Irving shook his head slightly, but although the loss was not significant, he still took out his phone and dialed 911.

Half an hour later, a police car came speeding by.

Two patrol officers then pushed open the door and came in.

The two white police officers exchanged a glance. Upon hearing the words "Black man," "gun," and "robbery," their expressions immediately turned serious. They put down their donuts and milk tea, picked up their walkie-talkies, and called the dispatch center.

"This is Cooper. We're in an emergency. A pawn shop called John's has been robbed at gunpoint by a black man, and we need the forensic department's assistance!"

A piercing crackling sound of electricity rang out, and the dispatch center immediately replied: "Understood, the evidence department has been notified for support."

"Sir, could you show me the surveillance footage? And could you tell me how much property you lost?" The white police officer looked serious, taking the case very seriously.

"Of course." Owen was somewhat surprised by the officers' responsible attitude.

He immediately led a white police officer to the computer containing the surveillance footage.

After the police officer explained, Irving finally understood.

Generally speaking, "free purchase" is not considered a big deal.

But it's different with a gun!

Although in Florida, it is not illegal to carry guns in public places such as school campuses and urban areas.

However, once it involves illegal or criminal acts involving firearms, it will generally be classified as a serious violent crime.

Regardless of whether the gun is real or fake, the sentence for any gun-related crime is the same.

Seeing how seriously the two officers took it, Irving couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration.

He originally thought that all police officers in America were incompetent.

Judging from the current situation, the other party is still quite responsible in some serious criminal cases.

Irving: What are you looking at? What's in those sacks? They look so mysterious.

Less than three seconds after Irving sent his message, James sent another picture.

The picture shows a handful of seeds.

Kyrie Irving: ??? James, you're a hacker, when did you become interested in the food business?

James: No, these aren't food, they're cannabis seeds! Aren't you Asians good at farming? So I wanted to ask you to come and help me figure out how to build a shed, get some soil, and plant these things.

Upon seeing the word "marijuana," Irving gasped in shock.

Are you kidding me, bro!

There are two police officers standing next to him now!

If these two police officers knew that I was going to grow marijuana, they would pull out silver handcuffs and handcuff themselves in a heartbeat!

Although Florida has had a law allowing eligible patients to use medical marijuana since 2014, it also passed an amendment in 2024 that legalized recreational marijuana by a significant margin.

But being able to legally use marijuana doesn't mean you can grow it!

Although many states in the United States have now passed legislation to legalize recreational marijuana, federal law still classifies marijuana as a Schedule I controlled substance.

If you plant without a permit, the lightest consequence if you are caught is imprisonment.

After glancing at the two white police officers busy at work beside him, Irving quickly found a corner.

Kyrie Irving: Dude, are you kidding me? You want to grow marijuana? I think you're crazy!

James: Hey man, relax, I just came to check out this business, haven't even started planting yet! Aren't you Asians good at farming? Could you come and take a look?
