Chapter 36 Unexpected Incident, Match Ends
"You're really interesting."
The medical technician, who had removed his mask, chuckled, turned and left briefly. When he returned, he discreetly slipped a note into Irving's hand, on which was written a phone number.
"Call me."
After saying that, she left, leaving only another female medical technician with a cold face to accompany Owen.
Without making a sound, Irving stuffed the note into his pocket and then struck up a conversation with another female medical technician next to him.
"My name is Irving. Hey beautiful, can I ask your name?"
Irving politely extended his hand and smiled at the other person.
"Emily." The female technician maintained her indifferent attitude.
"Emily, this seems to be the first time I've seen you here. Are you new?"
"Sorry, I'm relaxing your muscles right now, so please don't make a sound." Emily's attitude was cold, giving Owen no chance to respond at all.
"Yes, as you command, beautiful lady."
Irving shrugged, and seeing that the other person was very resistant, he didn't continue to chat.
After his muscles relaxed and Emily left, Owen looked at Bourne and Hudson, who had come into the lounge to visit him, and quickly asked, "Hey, buddy, can I get Emily's contact information?"
"Who?" Hudson asked, puzzled.
"Emily is the medical technician who just walked past you two," Owen said with a hint of helplessness.
"Medical technician? I don't recall that." Hudson frowned, thought for a moment, and shook his head.
"It's a wonder you remember me. I handled everything related to the boxing matches at our bar." Byrne glared at Hudson, then looked at Irving:
"Why do you need Emily's contact information? You're not interested in her, are you?"
"Of course, I've never met such a cold girl before, I'd like to give it a try..."
Before Irving could finish speaking, Byrne immediately raised his hand to interrupt, "Irving, you'd better give up now."
"From what I understand, Emily doesn't seem interested in men. She's a graduate student at the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami, and she leaves work every day with a girl..."
Irving's lips twitched.
No, she was such a classy girl, what a pity.
So when Irving heard what Bourne said, he decisively gave up the idea of pursuing her.
"Alright, Irving, we'll talk about everything else after the game." Bourne coughed twice, then said seriously:
"Irving, you really opened my eyes today."
Hudson told me before that I was born to do this job, and I didn't believe him, but now I do.
"Give you some time, and you'll definitely be the next kung fu superstar, the underground boxing champion..."
"Alright, Bourne, enough with the flattery." Before Bourne could finish speaking, Irving interrupted:
"Don't tell me that you and Hudson came all the way to the locker room just to tell me this. We're already old acquaintances. Just say what you have to say, the next game is about to start."
"Uh..." Seeing Irving start to stand up, stretching his body and moving his feet in a crisscrossing motion, Bourne and Hudson exchanged a glance before continuing:
"Hey Kyrie, Hudson and I know you'll definitely win the next game, but we suggest you stop now and end tonight's game here."
"What?" Owen looked at Bourne and Irving in confusion. "Didn't we agree that I'd keep fighting all day?"
Why end it now?
Good grief, I've just recovered some of my strength and energy, and now you're telling me it's over?
What's the difference between this and just having a date with a beautiful woman, taking off your clothes and showering, and then being dragged away by someone?
Seeing Irving's displeased expression and tone filled with dissatisfaction, Byrne quickly stepped forward, patted Irving's broad shoulder, and tried to dissuade him:
"Listen, brother, don't worry about the money. Even if you give up the competition now, I'll still cover the money for the remaining matches. It'll be $5000 per match, no less."
"It's not about the money." Irving shook his head. "You agreed to play the whole game, and then suddenly you just quit. You have to give me an explanation, man."
"Relax, Irving." Before Bourne could explain, Hudson spoke first:
"Listen, bro, I've been in the business for so many years and I've seen too many young people like you. I understand how you feel right now and I really want you to keep winning and make a name for yourself throughout Miami."
However, as your boss, agent, and partner, we must ensure your health, as health is the prerequisite for all interests.
"That's enough for tonight, buddy. You've played two high-intensity games in a row. It's time to relax, enjoy some good food and wine, and the cheers of victory!"
"But I'm clearly not injured, and I'm in pretty good shape." Irving shook his head, and after thinking for a moment, he held up one finger. "If it's not good, I'll play one more game, and then I'll rest."
"Oh, bro, why are you so stubborn?" Byrne couldn't help but ask.
"You don't need to compete, you don't need to exert yourself, you don't need to get injured, and you can make money while lying down. It's a win-win situation, so why won't you agree?"
Faced with Irving's sudden surge of fighting spirit, Bourne looked helpless, then turned to Hudson:
"OK, Hudson, I'm out of options. You're the boss, so please help me persuade our future boxing champion!"
"Me, persuade? How can I persuade them?" Hudson looked equally troubled, rubbing his temples with a headache.
"bite--"
Just as Hudson was having a headache, a message on his phone caught his attention.
"Oh, Owen, you lucky lad." Hudson replied to a message on his phone while telling Bourne to quickly arrange a VIP room.
After doing all that, Hudson stepped forward and patted Irving on the shoulder hard, grinning broadly.
"My dear boxing champion, forget about the match right now! Listen, the most important thing for you is to take a shower and change your clothes!"
"Are you kidding me?" Irving asked, looking completely bewildered.
Seeing this, Hudson pulled out his phone, showed it to Irving, and said excitedly, "A distinguished guest watched the game just now and became interested in you, specifically requesting to meet you! Do you know who this distinguished guest is?"
Irving shook his head.
"One of Miami's top capitalists!" Hudson exclaimed.
"Her assets in all of Miami are among the top ten. You know the newly elected mayor of Miami, PG Sawa? He was her protégé who helped her take office!"
