Reborn to Make Games: My Girlfriend is a Game Streamer

Chapter 5 Kitten, You're Up to No Good!

Jiang Yiting followed the space Chen Bainian had made, her gaze quickly sweeping across room 1201.

The shoe rack by the door was neat, and the interior was simply furnished, much cleaner than she had expected.

"Then I'll change into a pair of slippers," she said, taking out a pair of white, fluffy, fully-covered lambswool slippers from the shoe cabinet by the door, a style completely different from her usual chic and edgy personality.

Chen Bainian watched her walk in wearing these unexpectedly cute slippers, a hint of surprise flashing through his mind, but his hands didn't stop as he opened the airline case.

The "big brother," now free, didn't run away immediately. He simply squatted quietly by the box, his round, bright blue eyes warily scrutinizing the unfamiliar "intruder."

"Have you named it yet?" Jiang Yiting stopped a few steps away, not daring to approach rashly.

"Get up, call him 'Big Brother'."

"Big brother? Why did you give it such a name?" Jiang Yiting raised an eyebrow, her surprised gaze carrying a scrutinizing tone, as if the cat's custody would have to be renegotiated if he didn't provide a reasonable explanation.

Finally, someone could share their "blood and tears" of the past few days. Chen Bainian showed a hint of genuine helplessness on his face and briefly explained the origin of the name "Big Brother".

"Pfft..." Jiang Yiting couldn't help but laugh out loud, her previous scrutiny largely dissipating. "Serves you right for 'stealing the cat,' aren't you?"

Looking at the clean and cozy corner, and listening to this detailed and vivid "accusation" full of everyday life.

Jiang Yiting's doubts largely dissipated, and she instead felt a slight sympathy for the somewhat helpless adoptive father in front of her.

As the two were talking, the "elder brother" seemed to lower his guard and took small steps, tentatively moving to Jiang Yiting's feet.

"Can I touch it?" Jiang Yiting squatted down, her eyes meeting those blue eyes.

"It should be fine, it's quite friendly."

Before Chen Bainian could finish speaking, "Big Brother" had already stretched out his little paw and gently touched Jiang Yiting's outstretched fingertip.

Seeing that there was no danger, the little guy became bolder, put his front paws on her knees, and nuzzled his fluffy little head into her warm palm.

Under gentle stroking, it squinted its eyes and let out a soft, satisfied purring sound from its throat.

"It seems it quite likes you."

Chen Bainian stood aside, watching this harmonious scene, his tone much more relaxed.

Jiang Yiting's heart softened.

This fluffy little guy is really adorable.

After enjoying the caresses for a while, "Big Brother" still seemed unsatisfied. He kicked off with his hind legs and lightly jumped onto Jiang Yiting's lap, finding a comfortable position to snuggle into her arms.

Feeling the warmth and softness beneath it, it instinctively raised its two front paws and pressed down rhythmically, alternating between them.

The sudden "massage service" startled Jiang Yiting for a moment, then a gentle smile spread across her face.

She simply relaxed and sat down on the living room floor mat, letting the little guy do as he pleased.

Following his instincts, the "big brother" continued the "massage" motion while unconsciously moving upwards, as if searching for the most comforting and soft spot in his memory.

"What...what is it doing?" Jiang Yiting asked curiously, enduring the tingling and itchy feeling on her legs.

"Oh, that's a cat kneading, a habit it has when it's a kitten, indicating that it feels safe and comfortable..."

Chen Bainian's explanation hadn't even finished when...

"Big Brother's" two busy little paws, through the warm and soft fabric of the sweatshirt, pressed precisely and accurately onto an exceptionally soft area that also instantly froze the air.

Jiang Yiting let out a short, unsteady "Hmm?" and her smile froze instantly.

Her body trembled almost imperceptibly, as if she had been gently stung by static electricity, and her high ponytail even shook slightly.

A surge of heat, a mixture of astonishment, absurdity, and intense unease, rushed from my neck straight to the tips of my ears.

Chen Bainian saw everything clearly from the side, especially since the echoes of his own explanation of "safety and comfort" still lingered, making the current scene seem even more absurd.

His pupils dilated slightly, and he opened his mouth, but all the words of explanation stuck in his throat, and he couldn't utter a single syllable.

Time seemed to stretch out and thicken, and silence spread throughout the room.

The first to break this eerie silence was Jiang Yiting.

She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, her stiff expression melting away like ice and snow, replaced by an extremely absurd and helpless look.

She lowered her eyes, her gaze lingering on the pair of black cat paws still diligently "working" on her chest for a full second.

Then, her gaze slowly moved upwards, meeting Chen Bainian's bewildered eyes.

The corners of her mouth slowly, bit by bit, began to curve upwards.

It wasn't a shy or angry laugh, but a strange laugh that mixed mockery with a sense of "what's going on?"

"This cat hasn't learned anything good from you, has it?"

Her voice was lower than usual, and her unique magnetic voice sounded exceptionally clear in the room where you could hear a pin drop, carrying a calm that sent chills down Chen Bainian's spine.

As Jiang Yiting spoke, she finally reached out, her movements gentle yet allowing no resistance from the kitten, and gently lifted the little technician, who was immersed in his own world, away from her.

The eldest brother suddenly lifted off the ground, his four short legs kicking blankly in the air, his big blue eyes full of innocence: "Eek?"

Jiang Yiting looked at it, raised an eyebrow, and scolded in a low voice, "You little rascal, where are you stepping on? This is a paid service, you know?"

The phone rang.

The sudden ringing of the telephone was like a pardon, breaking the delicate silence in the room.

Jiang Yiting practically breathed a sigh of relief, quickly put down her "big brother," got up, walked to the window, and answered, "Hello, Xiao Yezi?"

"Sister Jiang, why haven't you come down yet? That cat thief hasn't come either. Did he run away?" Xiao Yezi's anxious voice came from the other end of the phone.

Hearing the clear child's voice beside her, Jiang Yiting, with her back to Chen Bainian, quickly adjusted her breathing and expression: "Come up, to 1201, it's next to mine."

After hanging up the phone, she turned around, her face already showing her usual calm demeanor.

However, the faint blush that hadn't completely faded from her earlobes subtly revealed the turmoil that had just occurred.

The atmosphere remained subtly tense.

Jiang Yiting casually straightened the fabric of her dress, which had been slightly wrinkled by the cat's claws, and suddenly chuckled softly, a sound tinged with self-deprecation and helplessness.

She looked up at Chen Bainian again, her tone casual, as if to say, "Never mind, let's turn the page," but her eyes were clear and focused: "Alright, I've experienced 'Big Brother's' 'massage service'."

She used a joking remark to characterize the blunder that had just occurred, and also to save face for herself.

Then, she subtly shifted the subject, but so naturally that it seemed to be merely an extension of the topic of "learning from others":

"So, as the current guardian of 'Big Brother,' and my unfortunate new neighbor..."

She paused, took a small step forward to close the distance, and lowered her voice to make sure only the two of them could hear her.

"The look in your eyes yesterday...did you recognize me?"
