Apocalypse: The Primordial Pearl Recognizes Its Master, Starting with Infinite Space
Chapter 92 Soloing the Zombie Horde
Less than a minute later, Lin Chen appeared on the outer city wall.
A biting wind swept across the wall. Ma Xiaoyan and the remaining team members were fully armed and ready for action.
What is even more touching is that many ordinary survivors also spontaneously climbed the city wall, holding simple "weapons" in their hands, their faces a mixture of fear and determination.
When Lin Chen appeared, everyone's eyes lit up for a moment.
"Brother Lin!" Ma Xiaoyan rushed over. "I estimate there are over 20,000 fleeing people! A team of security personnel is bringing up the rear; they're desperately trying to stop them, but the horde is too fierce, they're almost upon us! Should we close the main gate first?"
Lin Chen did not answer immediately, but looked into the distance.
A massive, dark mass of people surged forward, and cries and shouts could be faintly heard.
At the rear of the column, the scene was horrific: a dozen or so wounded security guards formed a thin but tenacious last line of defense, fighting and retreating.
Behind them, the gray-black horde of corpses surged like a wave that devoured everything.
Fortunately, the large number of Tier 1 zombies blocked the way, slowing down the faster Tier 2 zombies and zombie beasts.
"No need to close the gate." Lin Chen's voice rang out calmly. "Xiao Yan, take your people, open the side gate, go out to meet them, and guide the crowd into the city in an orderly and rapid manner."
"Then, Brother Lin, you..."
"I'll go hold off the zombie horde and buy you some time."
After Lin Chen finished speaking, before Ma Xiaoyan could react, he flashed away again.
The next second, he appeared at the very back of the fleeing crowd on the right side of the street, facing the surging tide of corpses head-on!
Lin Chen's expression was cold and stern as he swung his arms sharply towards the front of the densest horde of zombies!
The space is fluctuating violently!
Several giant shipping containers, accompanied by a fierce gust of wind, crashed down!
"BOOM!!! Rumble—!!!"
A deafening roar, like an earthquake! The containers, like steel fortresses, crashed precisely side by side into the middle of the street, completely blocking the wide road!
The surging tide of corpses came to an abrupt halt.
Without the slightest pause, Lin Chen's figure vanished again, reappearing at the end of the street on the left, repeating the same move—several more containers crashed down, completely cutting off the other passage!
The two hordes of corpses were forcibly severed in the middle!
Countless survivors stared blankly at the "city wall" that had suddenly appeared behind them, overwhelmed with the joy of surviving the ordeal.
However, the crisis is not completely over.
"Meow—!!!"
A piercing roar, unlike a cat's meow, suddenly came from the top of the container on the right!
A dark figure moved as fast as black lightning, tearing through the wind and snow, leaping high into the air, and rushing straight at Lin Chen, who had just landed!
It was a zombie cat, and a tabby cat at that! It was so fast it was just a blur!
"It's that cat! It just bit through Old Zhang's neck!" one of the survivors screamed in terror.
The zombie cat pounced from mid-air, aiming straight for Lin Chen's throat!
Lin Chen slightly turned his body, and the sharp claws grazed his neck.
At the same time, a Tang sword gleaming with a faint white light appeared in his hand.
The blade flashed like snow, disappearing in an instant.
The moment the zombie cat missed its target, both of its hind legs were severed at the root! It fell to the ground with a miserable howl.
Lin Chen took a step forward, shifted his body, and slashed horizontally with his backhand.
The blade swept across his neck without any hesitation.
The ferocious cat's head flew high into the air. Lin Chen casually waved his hand, storing the remains into his spatial storage.
But he didn't stop. He leaped and jumped onto the top of the container.
Standing atop the steel fortress, he looked down at the frenzied horde of corpses below. His hands moved rapidly.
One container after another, like building blocks manipulated by an invisible giant hand, were precisely dropped from mid-air!
They "lay out" along the street, forcibly squeezing, dividing, and crushing the horde of corpses backward!
Occasionally, agile zombie beasts or second-tier zombies would leap onto the top of the box and attempt to attack.
But what awaits them is always that razor-sharp, chilling light.
A simple thrust, a slash, a cut—precisely hitting the vital points.
An even more shocking scene unfolded: after "paving" most of the zombie horde on the right side of the street, Lin Chen actually jumped into the still densely packed zombie horde on the left side of the street, which had not yet been completely separated!
"He...he jumped in?!"
Then, everyone saw what "mowing down enemies like a pro" really meant.
Lin Chen's figure flashed through the horde of corpses, his Tang sword transforming into arcs of death.
A giant fist swung by a second-tier zombie? A flash of light, the arm was severed at the shoulder, and the head flew off.
A zombie dog lunged at him from the side? He was kicked so hard his sternum shattered and he flew backward, only to be caught up by a blade and cleaved in two.
His movements were efficient and concise; every step he took and every swing of his knife cleared a small area.
He seemed to be conducting a calm cleanup rather than a life-or-death struggle.
Having cleared out most of the left side, he flashed back to the right side to continue "sweeping".
Amidst the wind and snow, the figure facing hundreds and thousands of zombies alone resembled a demon god descending upon the apocalypse, leaving corpses strewn everywhere in his wake.
An eerie silence had long since descended upon the city wall.
Ma Xiaoyan had put down her binoculars at some point, her mouth slightly open.
After several seconds, she suddenly reached into her pocket and pulled out a small handful of sunflower seeds.
"Click...click..."
The crisp sound of cracking sunflower seeds stood out starkly against the silent wall.
A teammate next to him looked stunned: "Captain... you're... eating sunflower seeds now?"
Ma Xiaoyan squinted at the figure strolling leisurely through the horde of zombies in the distance, and smiled: "You don't understand... watching Brother Lin kill zombies is more exciting than watching fireworks during the New Year, and it's even better than eating."
The other team members were stunned for two seconds, looked at each other, and then... some of them quietly took out some compressed biscuits and energy bars, squatted on the snow on the wall, and started eating them while watching the "personal show" in the distance.
Beneath the city walls, the more than 20,000 survivors who had just been rescued were now all petrified.
They looked up at the guards on the city wall who had actually started to "have a meal," and then at the figure in the distance who had almost wiped out the pursuers all by himself. Their minds completely went blank.
What kind of place is this? And who is this person?
"The horde of zombies that chased us for our lives... was wiped out by one person?"
"Those are level two zombies! And there are zombie cats that can climb walls!"
"Is this even human?!"
Countless female survivors' eyes lit up – in the apocalypse, what could be more captivating than a powerful, calm, and so young guardian?
Meanwhile, their phones kept popping up with messages:
[The "Iron Fortress" in the North District has fallen; all members have been wiped out.]
[Nanhu Community falls; only 37 survivors]
[Official shelter in Guangzhou suffers heavy losses after being attacked by zombie beasts]
Compared to the scene of Lin Chen fighting the zombie horde alone, everyone had only one thought in their minds: joining Tianshui Garden was the best decision they had ever made.
"Quick! Quickly notify your family and friends who are still outside! Come over here immediately!"
"Don't hesitate! You simply can't survive anywhere else!"
Sharp-eyed survivors had already filmed the incident and uploaded it online.
In just ten minutes, hashtags such as #TianshuiGardenLeaderSoloingZombieHorde# and #TianshuiGardenIsTheTrueSafeZone# went viral.
Tianshui Garden's reputation has thus reached the pinnacle in Guangzhou—no longer "one of" but the only one.
More survivors are braving the wind and snow, flocking towards this lighthouse.
