Apocalypse: The Primordial Pearl Recognizes Its Master, Starting with Infinite Space

Chapter 291 Since you've enjoyed it, you must bear the consequences.

After hanging up the call, Lin Chen patted Yuanzai's head and ran towards Tiecheng.

After running for another half hour, a range of rolling hills appeared ahead.

Lin Chen told Yuanzai to slow down and stopped a mile away from the camp. He then got off, put Yuanzai into the Creation Island, and headed towards the camp alone.

This place was originally a military base with a relatively complete defense system. After the apocalypse, Sun Desheng reinforced the outer walls with steel plates and added layers of sentry posts, making it virtually impregnable.

But all of this was meaningless to Lin Chen. He silently passed through the wall and entered the camp, quickly finding the entrance to the basement. The Northeast was colder than the South, and the people here all hid underground.

Upon entering the underground bunker and passing through a small plaza, he saw a sign that read "Commander's Office" hanging on a large door next to him.

Lin Chen was slightly taken aback. This was the first time he had ever seen someone dare to set up their office right at the main entrance. It was either arrogance or stupidity.

Lin Chen teleported directly into the office.

The room, which is over 100 square meters, is decorated with various calligraphy and paintings on the walls, and porcelain is displayed in the corners.

A huge desk sat in the center, and behind it, on a tiger-skin chair, sat a man in his fifties, fat and with a ruddy complexion, who was eating a bowl of braised pork.

Hearing the noise, he looked up abruptly and saw Lin Chen, dropping his chopsticks on the table.

"Who...who are you? How did you get in?"

"Lin Chen." Lin Chen sat down opposite him, her tone calm. "You're Sun Desheng?"

Sun Desheng's expression changed drastically, and he reached for the alarm button under the table.

Lin Chen glanced at him, his hand frozen in mid-air, unable to press down.

"Where are the Chen family members?"

Sun Desheng's eyes glazed over for a moment, then cleared, and he calmly replied, "In the lounge."

"take me."

Sun Desheng stood up and walked out of the office, with Lin Chen following behind. The guards at the door were taken aback when they saw the two of them come out, but since Sun Desheng was used to being domineering, no one dared to stop them.

As they walked through several corridors, the survivors and patrolmen they encountered all hid to the side, filled with fear or hatred.

Finally, we arrived at an iron gate.

Sun Desheng took out his key and opened the door, which led to a downward staircase. After walking for a short while, he arrived at a warm lounge.

Lin Chen followed him into the living room, and Sun Desheng called out, "Haoyu, come out here for a moment."

Twelve people emerged from the four bedrooms, men and women, all quite young, the oldest being no more than twenty-seven or twenty-eight.

The leader was a young man, about twenty-four or twenty-five years old. He called out "Uncle" to Sun Desheng, but Sun Desheng did not respond.

Everyone looked at Lin Chen behind him in confusion. This was their hiding place. Why would Sun Desheng bring a stranger in?

Lin Chen looked at them, a smirk playing on his lips: "You're the remnants of the Chen family?"

"You...you are Lin Chen?" The young man leading the group asked in a trembling voice, as if he had realized something. He was Chen Huaisong's son, Chen Haoyu.

Lin Chen nodded: "You've got some brains."

Chen Haoyu's face was deathly pale, and his lips trembled as he stammered, "My...my dad and the others..."

"They're dead." Lin Chen said calmly. "Chen Huaiyuan is dead too. All the core members of the Chen family are gone; now only you are left."

Everyone looked at him in horror. They had only set off from the capital yesterday noon, and Lin Chen had caught up with them the very next afternoon.

Chen Haoyu gritted his teeth, his eyes red-rimmed, but he didn't cry out.

He suppressed his fear and asked calmly, "What...what do you want to do with us?"

Lin Chen gave him an appreciative look: "You have a good character. I can give you a chance to commit suicide."

"No! I don't want to die! Please let me go!"

"It was my uncle who opposed you; we weren't involved at all!"

"Please, I'm still young... Look how pretty I am, I can be your slave..." a young woman cried out, but Lin Chen didn't even glance at her.

Lin Chen said calmly, "As members of the Chen family, you have enjoyed the power and status that the Chen family brings. How can you say that the evil of the Chen family has nothing to do with you? Since you have enjoyed it, you must bear the consequences."

Finally, unable to bear the torment of fear any longer, someone pulled out a concealed pistol and pointed it at Lin Chen: "I'll fight you to the death!"

Another man drew a dagger and charged forward, shouting, "You die first!"

However, before they could even fire a shot, they were struck by lightning and turned into charred remains. They couldn't even fire a shot, let alone rush to Lin Chen's side.

Upon seeing this scene, the remaining people were completely disheartened, bursting into tears. Some even collapsed to the ground, defecating and urinating indiscriminately.

Lin Chen frowned and looked at Chen Haoyu: "Don't want to end your own lives? Then I'll have to send you off myself."

Chen Haoyu closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and pulled a dagger from his waist.

His hands were trembling, and the blade reflected the dim light.

He opened his eyes, looked at Lin Chen, and said in a hoarse voice, "I...I'm dead. Can you spare the others?"

"No," Lin Chen said, "but they can choose a dignified way to die."

Chen Haoyu's tears finally fell. He gripped the dagger tightly, pointed it at his throat, and hesitated to make the cut.

Lin Chen didn't urge him. After waiting a moment and seeing that he still hadn't made a move, he sighed, "Looks like you're no good either."

He raised his hand, and a bolt of lightning flashed.

Chen Haoyu's body turned into black charcoal and slowly fell down.

The others screamed and scattered, but there was nowhere to go in the enclosed lounge.

Lightning flashed one after another, and screams echoed throughout the room.

In less than a minute, twelve charred corpses lay scattered on the ground.

Lin Chen turned to look at Sun Desheng. Sun Desheng, waking from his trance, saw the corpses strewn across the floor, his face turned deathly pale, and his legs gave way as he knelt on the ground: "Mr. Lin... I don't know anything..."

Lin Chen glanced down at him: "No, you know everything, and you're also considered a member of the Chen family!"

Before Sun Desheng could say anything more, Lin Chen had already turned and left.

A muffled thud came from behind, and Sun Desheng's body was reduced to charred remains.

Lin Chen walked out of the basement. The people outside were still diligently patrolling. He summoned Yuanzai and climbed up.

Yuanzai's four palms flew as he headed south towards Shencheng.
