"Huh? Ibuprofen."

Su Mian was surprised to find that there was ibuprofen in it. She pointed to it and immediately opened one for her, handing her a glass of water as well.

"Your hands are cold, would you like to transform into a snake to warm them up?"

Su Mian glanced at the cramped little house, barely enough room to stand, and could already imagine how badly the poor furniture would be destroyed after it transformed at 9 AM.

She shook her head and swallowed the medicine.

"This toothbrush... are you not leaving today?"

Su Mian caught a glimpse of the toothbrush and two towels out of the corner of her eye; they were clearly not brought for her.

Si Shi nodded, a smile playing on his lips, seemingly back to his confident and composed self as DM. "I'll just sleep on the sofa."

Su Mian scoffed, "Did I say you can't sleep in a bed?"

At the hour of Si (9-11 AM), his fingertips slightly tightened, his eyes flickered, then quickly concealed themselves. He tilted his head and said, "That's true," he propped his chin on his hand, "after all, we've already slept together."

……

Su Mian rolled her eyes silently. Anyone who didn't know the situation would misunderstand what she was saying, but she still couldn't help but blush. The reason was simple: she was thinking about a dream she had last night.

"Are you really sure?"

At the hour of Si (9-11 AM), a seemingly random remark was made, and Su Mian's hand gripping the cup tightened instantly. She had overheard her conversation with Meng Ziqi.

Su Mian did not answer, but Si Shi played with Su Mian's fingers, as if he had made a decision.

"Okay, then..."

"Ah Si."

Su Mian interrupted him, "I don't want your help."

His fingers paused at the hour of Si (9-11 AM), and he smiled, "I never said I would help you, Mianmian."

"I'm serious."

Su Mian knelt up from the bed, looked directly into Si Shi's eyes, and said, "Don't I know what kind of person you are? Si Shi, I don't want you to be sent for repairs again for any reason. If I'm not by your side then, I'll feel even worse."

At 9:00 AM, Su Mian lowered her eyes and remained silent, letting out a sigh.

"I know you're worried about me, but I believe in myself, and you should believe in me too. Besides, this matter involves the players' factions, and it's very inappropriate for you to get involved."

She cradled Si Shi's head in her hands and kissed the corner of his lips. "Didn't you say you wanted me to be close to you, not just to survive?"

She hesitated, wondering if she could accept those words and bear the weight behind them.

But from the moment she discovered the vulnerability in the copy, she made up her mind, and in an instant, everything settled down.

She didn't want to forget her parents, and she also didn't want to forget the hour of Si (9-11 AM).

This was the reason she wanted to take action—a very selfish, yet very simple reason, enough to illuminate her own hazy inner world.

She has no memory of Si Shi, or rather, of the snake that entangled her life. She may live in the shadows for the rest of her life, barely surviving in the void.

Su Mian didn't want to forget him.

Because she likes him.

"It seems the curse has taken effect."

Si Shi stared into her eyes, his emotions a jumble. Su Mian wanted to say those words, but was caught off guard by Si Shi's kiss.

I got up at 9 am, cupped the girl's face in my hands, and forced her head back as I slept. Her head swayed little by little as my tongue moved around. I don't know if it was the effect of ibuprofen, but the pain subsided a lot.

Si Shi knew what she wanted to say, so he swallowed his words. He was a little afraid to listen; he was afraid it was all a dream.

"I love you."

He said.

"Su Mian, I love you."

Su Mian nodded. "Mm."

She hugged him, opened her mouth, but found that his back was tense. Finally, she hummed in response and swallowed the words back down.

The following day, a torrential downpour occurred.

Large raindrops pounded on the residential buildings, shrouding the world in a gray haze. Against the backdrop of the rain curtain, the scene appeared elusive and mysterious, like a giant beast lurking in the shadows.

A small van with peeling paint was parked in its usual spot, the driver's side door open.

A figure dressed in overalls and wearing a deliveryman's hat jumped down, holding a courier box with a "Fresh Produce Delivery" logo printed on it.

He had just seen the address and was preparing to deliver the goods when a girl slowly walked towards him through the rain.

He looked up and quickly recognized the person as the landlord.

The girl wore a pair of yellow waterproof boots, which stood out brightly in the gray world. Her signature side braid revealed a sense of coldness and brokenness. Under the transparent paper umbrella were a pair of calm and still eyes.

"There was something wrong with the vegetables delivered yesterday," Su Mian said bluntly. "I felt very unwell after eating them, and I'm going to file a complaint."

The deliveryman didn't show any emotion; he seemed quite used to hearing this reason.

"For complaints, please go to the app page."

Su Mian didn't answer, but instead took half a step forward. "The app's feedback is too slow. I need an explanation now. Also, I'll take today's dishes up myself. I need to check if there are any problems with the newly delivered ones."

The deliveryman paused for two seconds, seemingly puzzled by this request that went beyond the established procedure.

Su Mian deliberately acted a little impatient. She crossed her arms, glanced at the non-existent watch on her wrist, and spoke rudely.

"Open the car door, I'll take it myself. Otherwise, I'll not only complain, but also give you a bad review. Don't you know that the customer is the most important person in the world?"

The deliveryman was startled. He shrank back, stopped insisting, and turned to open the car door.

Su Mian followed a few steps behind him, her heart beating slightly faster, and she glanced at the corner of her eye on the other side of the unit door.

The moment the car door opened, there was a soft "click" sound.

Just as a gap was about to be opened, a figure pounced out from behind the pile of debris like a cheetah.

Meng Ziqi acted swiftly and decisively, tackling the deliveryman to the ground and holding his arms and neck firmly.

Su Mian rushed forward and went from the back seat to the driver's seat. However, the deliveryman was being held down by Meng Ziqi on the ground.

When he saw Su Mian reach for the car door, his eyes turned bloodshot. He suddenly jerked away with surprising strength, almost causing Meng Ziqi to lose his grip.

Due to the violent thrashing and struggle, the deliveryman's hat fell off, revealing what was not a human head at all.

Its skin suddenly tore open like four flower petals, revealing a dense array of sharp mouthparts covered in mucus and barbs.

It was a terrifyingly large mouth that occupied the entire "face" and could devour everything from 360 degrees, and a disgusting and bizarre aura instantly spread out.

Even a seasoned player like Meng Ziqi frowned uncomfortably upon seeing this, and the flower-shaped head suddenly turned towards Meng Ziqi, who was standing close by, about to engulf his entire upper body.

In the nick of time, Su Mian grabbed a bag of dried chili powder from inside the car, tore it open with her fingernails, and threw it over there with all her might, leaving half of her body sticking out of the car window.

"Holy crap!!!"
