Naruto: Reshaping the Shinobi World with Sasori

Chapter 33 Mission against Konoha

Having stayed in the village for so long, Yubi's goal has been to utilize the village's resources to enrich himself.

It wasn't just about implementing his plan.

He used his early accumulation in the system to gain the reputation of a genius, which enabled him to obtain assistance that he had not received during his time at the Ninja Academy.

This includes guidance from elite Jonin like Arai, and the ninjutsu scrolls he is currently reviewing.

Despite the help of the system, Yubi believes that it is still necessary to lay a solid foundation.

This can be considered a stage in his "foundation building" process.

"The hand seals... require a certain level of proficiency to simplify, especially the connection and flow between them and chakra. When this feeling becomes an instinct... when performing certain ninjutsu, you can reduce the number of hand seals. You can mobilize chakra with a simpler starting posture... The key lies in the 'response' between the two."

One day, at home.

Yubi put down the ninjutsu scroll in his hand, seemingly lost in thought.

He has gained new insights... Through these escape techniques, he has at least gained a better understanding of the 'connection' between jutsu seals and chakra.

During this time, he felt like he was preparing for an exam in his previous life, and he hardly ever left the house, just studying these ninjutsu scrolls... Fortunately, the ninjutsu the village gave him were not difficult and were relatively basic, so he could try and understand them at his current level.

"The more you understand the ninjutsu system, the more you realize the difficulty of this power and method... As expected, it's not that simple."

Yubi rubbed his temples and said calmly.

"Yubi..."

Just then, a Sand Villager appeared outside the window and shouted.

"Scorpion... is back."

When the other person saw him looking over, they made a gesture.

"Finally back."

Yubi smiled.

He was worried that Sasori would return to the village and immediately take on another mission and leave, so he specifically asked the Sand Village guards at the village gate to keep an eye on things.

"It's time to leave the village and continue my own growth."

Yubi put away a bunch of ninjutsu scrolls. Although he hadn't completely 'analyzed' these techniques yet, he had studied them enough for now.

At least it gave him a clearer understanding of the 'logic' of ninjutsu.

After leaving home and handing the reel back to the relevant personnel, Yubi headed straight to the village where the tasks were being distributed.

He was well-prepared; he used the funds he had obtained from previous missions to buy a lot of things at the village's ninja tool shop.

Especially the number of his specially made scalpels.

It requires special forging... and it takes a lot of effort.

Fortunately, this time he stayed in the village long enough.

Yubi had barely arrived when he saw Scorpion had already accepted the mission and was preparing to leave.

"Yo."

Yubi, wearing the Sand Village's combat uniform, raised her hand, smiled, and called out.

Scorpion saw him too.

"That's not fair... Are you planning to sneak away alone again? Didn't we say we'd go together?" Yubi laughed.

Compared to the last time I met Scorpion.

In just a few months, Yubi noticed that Scorpion's entire demeanor had changed somewhat.

When the two were on a mission at the border, Scorpion was aloof and cold, but there was still a hint of naivety in his eyes... But now, there was a faint sinister look between his brows.

Just standing there, he exudes an invisible sense of danger.

"An irrepressible killing intent..."

Yubi's heart skipped a beat.

He knew that Scorpion's gaze wasn't directed at him.

Rather, it is a transformation of anger and negative emotions.

He wanted to vent his anger by killing someone.

"What mission did you receive?" Yubi asked, ignoring Scorpion's indifference.

"Konoha".

Scorpion hesitated for a moment before uttering two words.

The Sand Village and the Leaf Village have reached a large-scale ceasefire... This Shinobi World War, at least the conflict between the two villages, has come to an end.

But just as Arai said, minor frictions... still exist.

With the trend already quite obvious, Sasori's acceptance of missions related to Konoha is clearly a deliberate choice.

"content."

Yubi asked.

"Heading to the Land of Grass... The people of Konoha are fighting Iwagakure over there. We've received intelligence that Konoha has a supply route... We need to find a way to intercept their support team," Sasori said coldly.

"Let's go... count me in."

Yubi nodded.

"We need three people."

"Scorpion said."

"Hmm... wait a bit, they should be here soon," Yubi said with a smile.

A few minutes later, a familiar figure appeared.

It was Shin-i.

Upon learning that Yubi was leaving the village on a mission, Arai immediately set off for her.

The village couldn't let two geniuses like Scorpion and Yubi do things alone... so they had to provide some protection.

Now that Sunagakure and Konoha have ceased hostilities, there's no need for the two kids to take risks... but training in the village can't compare to the improvement gained from actual combat.

If we talk about the most formidable figures in the ninja world, none of them were not forged through trials of blood and fire.

Therefore... the Third Kazekage and the higher-ups tacitly approved of Yubi's training trip.

However, this is on the premise that a certain level of security must be guaranteed.

Arai's eyes flashed when he saw Yubi and Sasori together.

Yubi's decision to go out at this time was indeed due to Scorpion...

Yubi had anticipated the appearance of the new well.

On the contrary, when Sasori saw Arai, the 'familiarity' in his eyes was long gone, replaced by an undisguised indifference.

Clearly, Scorpion had reservations about the village's "ceasefire."

"Let's talk on the way."

Arai also sensed Sasori's unfamiliarity and distance towards him, and his tone became somewhat stiff.

"Um."

Without asking questions or having detailed discussions, all three were willing to accept forming new teams.

Soon, the three of them left the village.

Following the same route they took to the Land of Rain, they headed straight for the Land of Grass.

A day later, the three stopped to rest in a desert area.

After understanding the mission, Arai, as the team leader, formulated a battle plan.

"The intelligence report only mentions the general location of Konoha. We don't know much about the battlefield there yet, so we need to be careful... It's best to be prepared before we attack Konoha, as we don't yet know the number and strength of their personnel."

"Now, the battle lines between our village and Iwagakure have shrunk, and Iwagakure's main force is also dealing with Konoha... But Iwagakure is still somewhat wary of us, so it's unlikely that we can enter the Land of Grass from the Land of Earth."

"Therefore, we can only go through the Land of Rain... to the Land of Grass. This mission will probably take a long time."

"Also, although our team is capable of entering the Land of Rain... the journey through the Land of Rain is also dangerous, so we must be careful."

"Once we enter the Land of Rain, we should try to get a pass from the caravans, and then... disguise ourselves as merchants, that would be easier... or we could just disguise ourselves as black market traders, given the current situation in their territory, their checks on this shouldn't be too strict."

"The Land of Rain is currently in a defensive posture; their deployment on the border should be minimal..."

Yubi looked at Arai and said something.

"Yes... but their country is in great chaos right now. The current Land of Rain was almost formed through expansion, and with the continuous wars of the past few years, they have had very little time to develop... So, to some extent, although the Land of Rain appears to be unified on the surface due to Hanzo's powerful abilities and skills, there are still local tyrants in the various regions under its control. These local forces are in chaos, and have even bred a lot of rebels..." Arai nodded.

"Their internal conflict is also intense... so be very careful."

"clear."

Yubi laughed.
