Hogwarts: My Grandmother is the Queen

Chapter 162 The Unicorn's Approach

Chapter 162 The Unicorn's Approach

Ron muttered under his breath, "You want to ride everything—"

Philip heard this and turned to look at him.

"Young people, life is short, so try it if you have the chance. When you get as old as me, you might not even be able to try anymore."

Ron thought about it and realized it made sense.

Not far away, a little Niffler who had fallen and injured itself while stealing something was lying in a corner.

It huddled in a small nest, surrounded by all sorts of shiny things: coins, buttons, glittering pebbles, and a few candies that it had stolen from somewhere.

Upon seeing Henry enter, it immediately scrambled to its feet, waddled over, and hugged his leg.

Henry crouched down and looked at it.

"Why are you still here?"

Little Sniff blinked, took something out of his pocket and handed it to him—a small silver coin.

The silver coin gleamed in the sunlight, bearing the Queen's portrait.

Henry took the silver coin, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"You stole something again?"

The little sniffle blinked, looking completely innocent.

Charlie explained from the side, "It wouldn't leave. We let it go, and it came back the next day. Now it's a permanent resident here. We named it Robinson."

Philip crouched down and looked at the little sniffler.

Little Sniff also looked at him, tilted its head and examined him for a while, then took out another silver coin from its pocket and handed it to him.

Philip was clearly surprised that the little sniffle would give him gold coins. He squatted down and looked at the little sniffle with a smile.

"This little thing is quite interesting."

He took the silver coin and put it in his pocket.

"I'll accept your gift; from now on, you're my friend."

Little Sniff blinked and pulled out another silver coin.

Its pockets are like bottomless pits; you can never empty them completely.

Philip laughed heartily.

After visiting the research center, they went to see the unicorn zone.

The unicorn area is located at the edge of a forest, surrounded by a magical fence. The fence is transparent and almost invisible; only when you get close can you feel the slight magical fluctuations.

Several white figures were moving around in the woods.

Newt said that the three unicorns were all rescued later, one of which was the one Henry rescued in the Forbidden Forest.

They came with injuries, but now they have fully recovered and are living well.

Henry stood by the fence and watched for a long time.

The woods were quiet, with only the rustling of leaves in the wind.

The unicorn seemed to sense something. It ran out of the forest, its white form shimmering in the sunlight, like a creature straight out of a fairy tale.

It ran to the fence and nuzzled Henry's hand with its head.

Those eyes were deep blue, as clear as two lakes, reflecting Henry's image.

Its companions followed behind, standing not far away, watching quietly.

They didn't come over; they just watched from afar, like guardians.

Philip watched this scene from the side, seemingly lost in thought.

"Does it recognize you?"

Henry nodded.

"I recognize it."

Why?

Henry thought for a moment.

"Perhaps it's because I helped it when it needed it most. Unicorns are special. They don't forget easily, nor do they forgive easily, but they do remember who was kind to them."

"That's good," Philip nodded and said.

He didn't say why it was good, but Henry knew what he meant.

To Henry's surprise, the unicorn suddenly raised its head, its gaze passing over him and landing on Diana.

Diana was standing a little behind, whispering something to Charles.

The unicorn looked at her and let out a cry.

"What's wrong with it?" Diana asked, somewhat bewildered.

Newt's eyes lit up.

"It wants to approach you," he said incredulously. "Your Highness, please step forward a little."

Diana did as she was told and took two steps forward. The unicorn looked at her and let out another cry.

Then, it did something that no one expected.

It lowered its head and bent its front legs slightly, as if it were bowing.

Diana was stunned.

"What is it doing?"

Newt's voice was a little excited.

"It is bowing to you," he said. "This is the highest honor a unicorn can bestow upon a pure person, Your Highness. It acknowledges you."

Diana opened her mouth, but didn't know what to say.

She looked at Henry, and Henry nodded.

"Go, Mom," he said. "It won't hurt you."

Diana took a deep breath and slowly approached the fence.

The unicorn raised its head and watched her approach.

Diana reached out and gently placed her hand on its head.

Unicorn fur is soft and smooth, like the finest silk.

Its body temperature is slightly higher than a person's, making it warm and comfortable.

It nuzzled Diana's hand and let out a soft hiss.

That voice was full of closeness and trust.

Diana's eyes suddenly stung.

She didn't know why, maybe it was because the unicorn was so beautiful, maybe it was because its eyes were so gentle, maybe it was because the scene reminded her of something from a long, long time ago.

"Thank you," she said softly, though it was unclear who she was thanking.

The unicorn nuzzled her hand again.

Charles stood to the side, watching this scene with a smile on his lips.

"It seems I'm not the only one who thinks your mother is wonderful," he said to Henry.

Henry nodded without saying anything.

Indeed, in our entire Windsor family, my mother is the only truly good person.

Harry and William saw their mother's unicorn being affectionate with Diana and wanted to try it too, but to their dismay, the unicorn only showed affection to Diana and snorted at anyone else who tried to approach it.

By the time the visit ended, the sun had already begun to set.

On the distant hillside, Norbert was still lying on that large rock, like a black statue.

Charles and Diana had to go back first, as Charles had official business to attend to at Buckingham Palace early the next morning.

They said goodbye to Newt, said goodbye to Charlie, waved goodbye to Norbert from afar, then got into their car and left the reserve.

As the car drove out of the gate, Diana leaned out of the window and waved to them.

"Take care of yourself!" she shouted.

Henry waved to them as well.

Philip didn't leave; he said he would stay here for one night and look around again tomorrow.

His reasoning was sound: "Since we're already here, how can we not take a look around?"

George and Fred didn't leave either. They said they wanted to study Norbert's flight patterns and see if they could learn anything from it. Although the reason sounded strange, Philip happily invited them to have a good chat that evening.

Ron wanted to leave; he felt he had already been scared enough today and didn't want to experience any more accidents.

But seeing that everyone else had stayed, he felt embarrassed to go back alone.
