Hogwarts: My Grandmother is the Queen
Chapter 159 Dragon Knight
Chapter 159 Dragon Knight
George glared at Ron.
Philip stood up and dusted off his hands.
"Since there are no problems, let's set off," he said.
The two cars set off at the same time; the Ford carried George, Fred, Philip, Lucy, Harry, and William.
As a powerful house-elf, Lucy can apparite away with the people in the car at any time.
The other car carried Henry, Harry, Ron, and Charles and Diana.
The car slowly drove out of the gates of Kensington Palace and headed towards the outskirts of London.
Ron leaned back in his seat, suddenly feeling a surge of excitement.
"Henry," he began.
Henry was looking out the window when he heard the sound and turned around.
"Um?"
"Does that protected area really have fire-breathing dragons?"
"Yes, Noberta is right there."
"Noberta? You mean Hagrid's?"
"right."
How old is it now?
"Seven or eight feet," Henry said. "Quite a bit bigger than the last time I saw you."
Ron opened his mouth.
Seven or eight feet?
That's taller than him!
"It—it won't spray people, will it?" he asked somewhat fearfully.
"Yes, it will," Henry said. "But it recognizes people. When Hagrid goes there, it rubs its head against the fence—and it does when it touches me."
Ron imagined the scene—a seven- or eight-foot-tall fire dragon rubbing its head against the fence like a big, affectionate cat.
It doesn't seem that scary?
Harry remained silent, gazing out the window, lost in thought.
Ron noticed his silence and asked, "Harry? What are you thinking about?"
Harry understood Ron's implication, and after regaining his senses, he recounted the events that had occurred to Henry in detail.
"That's basically it," he said, pushing up his glasses.
"I'll ask Lucy when I get back," Henry said. "House-elves have their own way of communicating, and if they're willing to help, they should be able to find out."
He knew whose Dobby was, but he couldn't just say the answer directly; it would seem a bit strange.
Harry breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome," Henry said with a slight smile.
The car continued forward, and the scenery outside the window changed from the city to the countryside, from skyscrapers to fields and farmhouses.
Sunlight streamed onto the green fields, and everything was so peaceful and beautiful.
Diana turned around from the front seat.
"What are you talking about?" she asked with a bright smile.
"It's about the wizarding world," Henry said. "Just a small matter."
Diana nodded and did not ask any further questions.
Charles also turned around and glanced at them.
"Are we almost at the reserve?"
"That's about enough," Henry said.
About half an hour later, the car stopped at the foot of a hillside.
Ahead lay a wide-open highland, with several wooden buildings in the distance, standing out prominently in the sunlight.
"We're here," Henry said.
He opened the car door and got out, followed by Harry and Ron.
A breeze blew by, carrying the scent of grass and wildflowers.
Several strange cries came from afar, sounding like birds, but not quite.
"What is that?" Ron asked.
"Noberta," Henry said, "is calling."
Ron's expression changed.
"—Won't it break free?"
"How is that possible?" Henry said, both amused and exasperated. "There's a fence, and a protective charm; it can't get out."
Ron breathed a sigh of relief.
At that moment, the Ford arrived.
Before the car had even come to a complete stop, Harry leaned out of the window.
"Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"
George yelled from the driver's seat, "Don't stick your head out! It's dangerous!"
Harry pulled his head back, but he couldn't hide the excitement on his face.
After the car came to a complete stop, he was the first to jump out, and he almost fell when he landed.
William followed behind, trying to appear calm, but his eyes were already darting around.
Philip was the last to come down. He stretched his limbs and looked around at his surroundings.
"Not bad," he said. "The air is very good."
George and Fred also got out of the car and stood beside it, looking around.
"Is this the protected area?" George asked.
"Yes," Henry said. "That's the research center over there, the medical station over there, and the staff dormitories over there."
He pointed to those buildings.
"Below the hillside is the paddock, and that's where Norberta is."
Ron looked in the direction he was pointing and saw a huge enclosure below the hillside, surrounded by a high fence. The fence shimmered with a faint magical light—it was a protective charm.
In the enclosure, there was a black thing lying there.
That thing was huge, as big as a small car.
The black scales gleamed with a metallic sheen in the sunlight, and a row of sharp protrusions stood upright like swords on its back—the hallmark of the Norwegian Spinosaurus.
It lay on a large rock, its tail occasionally twitching.
"That's Norbert?" Ron's voice trembled slightly. "Merlin's socks. They've grown so fast! I still remember him as a tiny little thing!"
"Yes," Henry said. "It will grow even bigger."
Ron swallowed hard.
Just then, a person walked out of the research center.
He was wearing a dark brown work uniform, which was covered with bits of grass and dirt, but he looked to be in good spirits.
He strode toward them with a smile on his face.
"Charlie!" Ron shouted.
Charlie walked over and nodded to Henry first.
"Your Highness."
Then he turned to Ron and ruffled his hair.
"Why are you here too?"
Ron winced as his fingers were rubbed: "I came along, of course."
Charlie smiled and then looked at Harry.
"Harry, it's been a long time."
Charlie then looked at Charles and Diana and bowed slightly.
"Your Highness Prince of Wales, Your Highness Princess, welcome to the protected area."
"Thank you for your help," Charles nodded.
"No trouble at all," Charlie said. "Your Highness has been a great help; without you, this protected area could not have been built."
He then looked at Philip.
"This is—"
"My grandfather," Henry said.
"His Highness Prince Philip?" Charlie's eyes widened.
Philip looked at him and joked, "What? Not welcome?"
"No, no!" Charlie quickly waved his hands. "Welcome, of course you're welcome! Your Highness, please!"
A group of people walked towards the paddock, with Harry running in front, shouting, "Noberta! Noberta!"
William followed behind him, trying to appear mature and composed, but his pace noticeably quickened.
Philip walked at a leisurely pace, but his eyes remained fixed on Norbert.
"How big is it?" he asked.
"She's almost a year old," Henry said.
How big can it grow?
"About twenty feet."
"It's smaller than I imagined," Philip said with some regret.
Henry glanced at his grandfather and asked, "How big do you think you'll grow?"
Philip thought for a moment: "Thirty feet?"
As he spoke, he looked at Norbert and a sudden idea struck him: "If only we could ride a fire dragon into the sky, that would be so much more exciting than a fighter jet or that Ford car—"
