Chapter 136 Congratulations, Father! You can become Emperor!

Diana walked over from the kitchen, carrying a cup of tea, and placed it next to Henry.

"Stop bothering your brother, he just got back, let him rest for a while."

William and Harry exchanged a glance, then shook their heads simultaneously.

"No!"

"Change is necessary!"

Diana sighed helplessly and looked at Henry.

"Look, this is how they are when you're not around. When you are, at least they listen to you a little."

.

Henry laughed and said, "It's okay, Mom, I'll do another one."

He waved his wand, this time aiming at an orange on the coffee table.

"VeraVerto".

"

The orange trembled and slowly transformed into a small, orange-red bird.

The little bird hopped on the coffee table, then flapped its wings and flew to Harry's shoulder.

Harry's expression went from surprise to ecstasy.

"It flew onto my shoulder!" he exclaimed.

The little bird tilted its head and pecked at his ear.

Harry tickled so much he kept shrinking his neck and giggling, while William watched from the side, extremely jealous.

"Let it fly to me! Let it fly to me!"

Henry waved his wand again, and the bird flew off Harry's shoulder and landed on William's head.

William blushed with excitement and asked, gesturing wildly, "Does it have a name?"

"Give it a name," Henry said.

William pondered for a long time, then finally came up with a good name: "Then let's call her Tangerine."

(tangerine)"!"

"A good name," Henry said seriously.

The little bird seemed quite pleased with the name, hopping on William's head before "popping" back into an orange and landing on William's head.

William cried out in pain when he was hit, but he wasn't angry at all; instead, he laughed even louder.

Diana watched from the side, her eyes curving into crescents.

The afternoon flew by as William and Harry chattered away, with Henry performing magic tricks for them more than a dozen times: apples turning into rabbits, oranges into birds, and bananas into fish.

William and Harry were having a great time, while Henry didn't seem tired at all.

While at school, he had to deal with all sorts of things every day and rarely had a moment to relax like this.

Playing with my younger brothers, listening to their fantastical stories, watching them laugh so hard they roll on the floor over at the sight of a simple magic spell —

This is probably the meaning of going home.

Charles returned in the evening.

He was wearing his signature dark suit and holding a document when he saw Henry sitting in the living room, and he paused for a moment.

"I'm back."

"Father."

The father and son's conversation was as brief as ever.

But Henry noticed that the fine lines around his father's eyes were a little deeper than they had been three months ago, and there were a few more gray hairs at his temples. A man in his forties, still dealing with endless paperwork, meetings, charity events, and environmental projects every day—

It's actually quite tiring.

William ran over and hugged Charles's leg.

"Daddy! Henry did so many magic tricks today! He turned into a rabbit! A bird! And even a fish!"

Charles looked down at William, a rare smile appearing on his face.

"Yeah?"

"Yes!" Harry ran over too. "That bird is still on my shoulder! Its name is Orange!"

Charles glanced at Henry.

"tangerine?"

"William named it," Henry said.

"That's good." Charles nodded with a smile.

Dinner was a family gathering; there were no outsiders, just the five of them.

Diana specially asked the kitchen to prepare Henry's favorite dishes, as well as a dessert that Henry loved as a child.

William and Harry were as boisterous as ever at the dinner table. William insisted on cutting the lamb chops himself, almost knocking over the plate. Harry smeared mashed potatoes everywhere—on his face, hands, clothes, and even his hair.

Diana kept them in check while chatting with Henry.

Charles suddenly interjected, "Oh, by the way, Fudge wrote me a letter."

Henry looked up, asking curiously, "What did you say?"

"It's nothing more than some words of thanks," Charles said with a smile, "and a little bit of probing."

"Testing what?" Henry asked.

Could it be that we're testing my father by having him perform the Xuanwu Gate ritual, and then bestowing upon him the title of Royal Mage?

Congratulations, Dad, you can now become emperor!

"Testing the waters with the royal family." Charles put down his knife and fork, looking at him. "He feels you're close to Dumbledore, yet willing to cooperate with him. He's unsure which side you're on."

Henry took a sip of water, smiled, and said, "Then let him be confused."

Charles looked at him and suddenly felt that the child seemed to have evolved again.

"You're more mature than before."

"Steady?" Henry looked at his father.

"Yes," Charles said. "You're more mature in your speech and actions than before, much like your grandmother."

Oh, Henry understood another layer of meaning in "steady".

Diana stood beside her, smiling radiantly.

"Charles, are you praising him or your mother?"

Charles ignored her and continued to look at Henry.

"Keep it up."

Henry nodded.

"I will, Father."

After dinner, William and Harry took Henry to their games room.

It was a room of moderate size, with a soft carpet on the floor and their paintings covering the walls.

Most of them are graffiti, but a few are recognizable as objects. The corner is piled with toys, including rocking horses, building blocks, toy trains, and several robots that have been dismantled into pieces.

"Henry! Look at the dragon I drew!" William ran over, holding up a painting.

Henry took the painting and examined it carefully.

The picture shows a red creature with four legs, a tail, and breathing fire.

Although the proportions are a bit odd, you can definitely tell it's a dragon.

"It's very well drawn," he commented.

William blushed with joy and gave Henry a big kiss.

"I drew one too!" Harry ran over, holding up a drawing as well.

Henry took it and saw that it was a mess of colors.

"Is this a dragon?" he asked.

"No!" Harry declared confidently, "That's fire breathed by a dragon!"

The dragon's fire won; there was no dragon, only fire.

These kids.

"It's very well drawn," he said without changing his expression.

Harry was happy too.

The highlight of the evening was the gift from the Weasley twins.

Henry took the small bottles out of his suitcase and placed them on the table.

"What is this?" William asked curiously as he leaned closer.

"A magic toy," Henry said. "Want to try it?"

"Yes!" the two little ones exclaimed in unison.

Henry thought for a moment and then took out a portable swamp.

"This is like the one you played before. When you open it, a swamp will appear on the ground. But don't worry, it won't get your clothes dirty, and it will disappear automatically."

"I want to play!" William shouted.

Henry handed him the bottle and watched as he unscrewed the cap.

A moment later, a magical swamp three feet in diameter appeared out of thin air on the floor of the game room.

The brown mud was bubbling and gurgling, and a few thin reeds emerged from the mud, swayed, and then retreated back inside.
