America: The Cremator
55. One vat of minced meat!
What lay inside wasn't a musical instrument, but a heavily modified heavy chainsaw.
Its main body was painted matte black, the guide plate was over seventy centimeters long, and the brand-new saw chain gleamed with a chilling light in the dim light.
The original plastic shell has been replaced with a more robust ceramic coating material, and the engine has also been significantly modified. The exposed metal heat sink and thickened exhaust pipe allow this chainsaw to unleash terrifying power far exceeding that of conventional models.
Next to the chainsaw, there are two spare metal oil cans and a spare saw chain, secured with slots.
The entire box is lined with high-density sponge, with each component perfectly embedded, revealing the professionalism and meticulousness of a seasoned arms dealer.
"A very nice toy."
Looking at the weapon in the box, a weapon brimming with violent aesthetics, Su Long offered his sincere assessment.
A smug smile spread across Dania's face as she reached out and stroked the cold body of the chainsaw, explaining, "It's a military-grade version of the Steele MS881. I've made some minor modifications, replacing the chainsaw chain with a silver-tungsten alloy one and installing a four-stroke rotary engine to make it spin faster and have stronger torque."
As she spoke, Dania lifted the heavy, modified chainsaw out of the box with one hand.
The mechanical creations weighing over ten kilograms seemed to lose their weight in her hands; her effortless movements made it seem as easy as picking up a baguette.
"Alright, pack up your weapons and get ready for the final battle."
Dania checked the chainsaw's start cord, then unscrewed the fuel tank cap and poured in the spare high-octane mixed fuel.
"We need to start summoning that damn guy."
Su Long nodded without saying anything and began to check his equipment.
He took the Colt Python revolver from his waist, opened the magazine, and confirmed that it was fully loaded with six pure silver bullets. Then he took the spare quick-load loader from his belt and checked that the bullets inside were in good condition.
Inside the equipment bag, thirty spare .357 Magnum silver bullets were neatly stacked in the ammunition box.
On the left side of the belt, the double-edged dagger, crafted from silver-tungsten alloy, was securely sheathed, with only a section of the handle wrapped in black paracord visible. On the other side was a Raphael flask filled with Macallan whisky, its surface reflecting a soft silver light in the dim light.
Finally, he reached inside his jacket, his fingertips tracing the chainmail beneath him, made of finely woven metal rings. The cold, solid touch brought him a basic sense of security.
"I'm ready," Surong's voice rang out in the open space.
Dania closed the fuel tank lid, tucked the wrapped painting under her arm, and instructed, "Take the painting and come with me."
The two walked one after the other toward an inconspicuous concrete building at the edge of the open space.
The building resembled the entrance to a parking lot, with a wide spiral ramp extending downwards and disappearing into the deep darkness.
They descended along the pedestrian area at the edge of the ramp. The deeper they went underground, the more stagnant and cold the air became, carrying a musty smell from a lack of ventilation and the dusty odor of concrete.
The overhead lighting was broken, and only an emergency light with its own power supply installed every ten meters or so on the wall cast a pale, stiff light, casting distorted and elongated shadows of the two people on the ground.
They descended three levels in succession, finally reaching the bottom of the parking lot.
The space here was far more spacious than Su Long had imagined. Hundreds of parking spaces were empty, and huge load-bearing columns stood like trees, dividing the entire space into silent areas.
Brand-new metal drainpipes hung on the surrounding walls, forming a stark contrast to the damp concrete surfaces, stretching to the horizon like the exposed, cold skeleton of some enormous creature.
In the very center of the parking lot, there is a white object that stands out incongruously from its surroundings.
A ceramic bathtub large enough to accommodate two adults lying in at the same time.
Su Long frowned; he couldn't understand why anyone would put a bathtub in such a place.
He followed Dania forward, and an indescribable, cloying smell, a mixture of decay and chemical agents, filled the air.
Dania reached out and ripped off the heavy rainproof tarpaulin covering the bathtub.
Under the tarpaulin was a full vat of thick, wriggling black mud.
No, that wasn't mud at all, but countless fragments of human tissue that had been churned up, liquefied, and were undergoing a bizarre transformation...
Most of the tissue had turned into black mud, to the point that the stench of decay had become faint. Only some fragments, about the size of a fingernail, that were not yet fully decomposed could still be vaguely identified as human skin, fat, and muscle.
Surong looked up at Dania and asked calmly, "Was it killed on the spot to catch the monster?"
Upon hearing this, Dania quickly shook her head and waved her hand, saying, "Please, we are a legitimate gang, dealing in arms, not the kind of street thugs who kill indiscriminately."
Pointing to the nauseating contents, she explained, "These were all bought from the BG Anatomy Center."
"Because it's uncertain which day it will rain, my people have been continuously buying fresh 'raw materials' in the past few days. We're keeping a vat of them here, and once this vat is almost completely transformed, we'll clean it out and replace it with a new batch."
"We're lucky; this batch is just about to be converted."
Su Long said knowingly, "BG Center? That makes perfect sense."
"These guys often steal our business. Sometimes when I arrive late, I see their men loading intact corpses onto their trucks."
Dania asked with some curiosity, "If that's the case, then what's the point of having you crematorium workers?"
Su Long explained, "BG doesn't take just any corpse. They're only interested in corpses in the city that are in good condition or have special research value. The rest are for us to handle."
As he spoke, he took the painting from Dania, tore off the black waterproof cloth covering it, and asked, "What should we do next?"
Dania's gaze fell on the painting, her eyes sharpening: "Soaking the painting in this pile of black mud will create 'Lady in the Rain' at the fastest speed."
"However, she only appears in rainy environments. Even when hunting down a cursed target, she will not recklessly pursue them if they escape into a large area of rainless environment, such as inside a closed building or an underground space like this."
"Of course, small spaces like under an umbrella or inside a car don't count."
Su Long frowned again: "We're in a rainless environment now. If she doesn't show herself, won't our plan be wasted?"
Dania suddenly laughed. She reached out and gently traced her fingertips across Su Long's cheek, a gesture that carried a subtle hint of teasing.
"Of course not, because of you, my dear, Mr. Cursed Bait."
"If you drop a drop of your blood on this painting, she will be forcibly summoned and appear before you, regardless of whether it is raining or not."
Surong leaned back slightly, avoiding her fingers, and looked at her calmly: "Miss Dania, touching someone's face casually is not a polite thing to do."
Upon hearing this, Dania's smile widened. She leaned her entire face close to Su Long's and teased, "You were so carefree when you drank last time, why are you suddenly so concerned about these details?"
"At worst... you can touch it back."
Su Long looked at her fair and smooth face, which was so close to his, and at the undisguised cunning in her bright blue eyes.
He reached out and gently pinched her soft cheek.
"Let's begin."
Dania paused for a moment, seemingly not expecting his reaction, then nodded and took the painting "Lady in the Rain" from Sulong's hands.
She gripped the canvas with both hands and, without hesitation, plunged it heavily into the bathtub filled with bits of flesh and black water.
