Chapter 98 Audience

On the moon's greyish-white surface, the temple complex casts a vast and solemn shadow under the starlight, and eternal silence envelops this blessed land.

Terence walked barefoot on the main road, like a pilgrim who once embarked on a pilgrimage with faith, making almost no sound. He had returned to this holy land to pay homage to the Lord, to report to the supreme being on the recent ideological conflict in human civilization, and also to respond to the request of the guest who had come from afar.

Before the entrance to the Black Stone Pyramid, a figure was waiting quietly. Upon seeing Terence approach, the man immediately bowed slightly. He was none other than Karen, the former diplomatic envoy of the Boros Global Foundation and now the supreme commander of the rebels.

Karen's face was expressionless, but under the watchful eyes of the undead dragon, he still showed an undisguised tension and awe. He was wearing a set of psionic protective equipment, which looked like luxurious crystal or metal decorations.

Just as Terence approached, the protective equipment, which had been operating smoothly, reacted abnormally. The clusters of crystals suddenly lit up with a pale purple halo and automatically entered the highest level of protection.

Normally, this device would only activate when there were extremely powerful psionic fluctuations in the surrounding area that were enough to threaten Karen's life. However, he hadn't even sensed any psionic fluctuations. The device had reacted so violently simply because Terence had approached him.

What terrifying level of psychic power this is?

Karen felt a sudden realization: this seemingly weak and backward civilization was actually favored by the great being who controlled death. Terence claimed to be an apostle of the Lord on earth, and his spiritual power was so strong.

He immediately shut down the alarm on the device, bowed to Terence again, his posture even lower than before: "Lord Terence, please forgive my intrusion."

Terence stopped, his eyes, burning with a faint flame, calmly sweeping over the yellowish-green humanoid before him. He nodded slightly in response to Karen's greeting. "Have you waited here, ready to meet the Lord?"

"Yes," Karen nodded immediately, her tone becoming even more respectful. "I come with the utmost sincerity, hoping to express my apologies and surrender to the Supreme Lord in person. I humbly request Lord Terence to introduce me."

During his time in the galaxy of human civilization, he witnessed the order of this civilization firsthand. He dared not disturb the great being high above the moon, and could only wait here for Terence to finish his business, hoping to obtain an audience through this representative on earth.

Terence was silent for a moment, confirming the alien's intentions, and slowly said, "The will of the Lord is not something that ordinary people can touch. Since you have reverence in your heart, come with me. However, whether you can hear the Lord's divine revelation depends entirely on the Lord's will."

"Thank you, Lord Terence," Karen said, expressing her excitement, and bowed deeply once again.

Terence turned and continued walking toward the entrance of the pyramid, and Karen immediately followed quickly, walking cautiously behind him.

As you enter the pyramid, an intense aura of spiritual energy washes over you. The walls on both sides of the passage are covered with countless murals, recording the miracles of God's awakening, the cataclysmic earthquake, the struggle for survival of mankind in the dead of winter, and the resistance launched by the Death Cavalry against the company.

Each chisel stroke is imbued with spiritual energy and devotion, as if giving life to the murals and illuminating their lively eyes. Under the flickering light, the murals flow slowly, telling the story of that era of rebirth from the ashes.

The main hall's dome is inlaid with countless luminous crystals, simulating the appearance of an entire galaxy, dazzling and vast, while overlooking all of this is the statue of the Lord.

The jet-black dragon bones meandered and coiled, their bone wings spread wide, as if to cover the entire sky. Even a statue with divine charm would exude a heart-palpitating pressure, as if the supreme being was looking down on everything in the world through this statue.

Faced with the psionic pressure here, Karen took a deep breath to calm her anxiety and followed closely behind those who had come before her, stepping into this sacred temple.

The pale purple light flickered wildly, as if it was about to collapse completely at any moment. Karen's forehead was covered in cold sweat, but Terence ignored his predicament, walked to the statue and slowly knelt down on both knees, pressing his forehead tightly against the cold black stone ground.

"Lord, Most High Father, Your devout servant Terence prays and begs Your will to look upon Your people."

The next moment, the entire temple was suddenly illuminated by a blinding black and red light, as if a filter had been applied. The few clusters of flames in the hollow eye sockets of the statue, which were originally just sculpted effects, suddenly became incredibly real and incredibly intense.

Faced with the will that descended upon him, Karen seemed to see countless stars rise and fall before his eyes. His mind went blank, and a tearing pain came from the depths of his soul, as if a pair of boundless eyes were looking down on him, so insignificant, through layers of starry sky.

Before he could even exchange words with that gaze, he felt as if his soul were a comet falling onto the surface of a star, melting and evaporating at a visible speed, about to spontaneously combust in the next second. His psionic protective equipment made a crisp sound, and the crystals shattered instantly on the ground.

He couldn't even hear or perceive the exchange of consciousness between the Undead Dragon and Terence. His psychic abilities were far too shallow to handle the conversation with the Undead Dragon on his own. He could only struggle to remain an observer and prevent his consciousness from being completely dissipated.

"What do humans wish for?"

Terence remained prostrate, and reported to the Lord in detail the ideological conflict facing human civilization today: the mechanical immortality pursued by the divine sorcerers and the psychic laws pursued by the magicians, the differences and contradictions between the two factions, and the resulting division and turmoil: "Lord, your people have encountered division and confusion on their path forward. We implore you to send down your divine judgment to guide your people onto the right path."

Terence bowed his head again, quietly awaiting the Lord's judgment.

Lin Zimo turned his gaze to human civilization. He saw the divine sorcerers' rejection of flesh and blood and their fanaticism for mechanical immortality, and the magicians' obsession with rules and their pursuit of a great awakening of spiritual energy for all.

"Your two ideas are very interesting; I see human creativity in them."

"Your strength is insufficient to make these two paths possible. Terrence, you and Howard did a good job stopping this disaster."

Terence's heart was finally at ease. The Lord's approval was the greatest affirmation for him and Howard, and the greatest endorsement for their guidance of human civilization.

"I have no intention of stifling either of these possibilities," Lin Zimo continued to Terence. "There is no absolute right or wrong on the path of psychic energy. If you can put aside your differences and cooperate sincerely, you will explore more possibilities for human civilization."

Terence bowed deeply, "Your servant will heed the Lord's teachings."

Jacob and Isaac, the leaders of both factions, are still imprisoned in a place where psychic energy is suppressed. The prisoners are in a state of eternal slumber, losing all perception of the outside world and left only with boundless darkness and silence until the end of their lives.

Since the Lord has delivered His judgment, Jacob and Isaac do not deserve to die and will have the opportunity to continue to contribute to human civilization in the future.

Lin Ziming pondered these two intriguing ideas. "Terrence, my apostle, you have already undergone baptism and no longer need an inorganic body to reach eternity. I can create an empty vessel for humanity. Would you be willing to become the vessel's container and manifest the 'Law' within it according to your will?"

Terence lay prostrate on the ground, his body trembling slightly, not from fear, but from the Lord's trust and grace.

This was an opportunity that magicians had dreamed of, but it could be easily realized through the power of the Lord. The path to immortality and power, bestowed by the Lord himself, was placed before him.

Terence understood what it meant to become the embodiment of "law." He could use his own will to define what the rules were. In mythology, this was tantamount to ascending to godhood in one step, commanding the world, and having his words become law.

After a long while, he slowly opened his eyes and said to the statue with unwavering determination, "Lord, Your grace is my greatest glory, but please allow me to put this grace into the future."

"Human civilization's foray into interstellar space is like a child who has just learned to walk. We have not yet seen the vastness of the starry sea, nor have we personally experienced the storms of interstellar society, nor do we know what the outside world is really like."

"I hope that I can lead my people to first follow the path of ordinary civilization, to complete this journey away from home, and only after we have truly seen the starry sky, recognized ourselves and become human, will we decide where our civilization should go in the future and what kind of upheaval to choose."

"I do not wish to predetermine the future path of the entire civilization based on my personal choices."

Terence was absolutely honest with the Lord and was not blinded by power, while Lin Zimo was not displeased by being politely rejected by his apostle.

"Since this is your choice, I grant your request. This blessing will await you in the future."

"By the grace of the Lord, praise be to our Heavenly Father!" Terence bowed again.
