Chapter 58 Execution
"Alright, stop acting."
Leon sneered and shoved the gun into the car, stabbing it hard into the "corpse's" eyelid.
"If you dare to play dead again, I'll make you take it for real."
The next second, a medical miracle occurred.
Darlis King, who was originally "dead," suddenly twitched and let out a pig-like scream, then sprang up as if he had been electrocuted.
"Don't kill me! Don't kill me! I'm still alive, I surrender, I have money, don't shoot!"
As he shouted, he raised his hands, and the bloodstains on his face, which he had been using to disguise his face, were now streaked with tears and snot, making him look both comical and pathetic.
Without a word, Leon reached out his left hand, grabbed his thick gold chain, and dragged him out of the car like a dead dog, slamming him heavily onto the muddy ground.
"Ah, my back, be gentle! I am..."
"Shut up."
Leon stepped on his chest, applying slight pressure to force him to swallow the rest of his nonsense.
He bent down, his eyes fixed on Darlis's pupils, which were dilated with fear, and said in a low voice:
"Name. Identity. Don't give me any nonsense. The FBI will be here soon. Until then, I want to hear what I want to hear."
Darlis's mental defenses completely crumbled when he saw the dark muzzle of the gun and the brutal police officers frantically looting the bodies around him.
"Dalis, my name is Darlis King!"
He shouted, trembling, as if afraid he'd be shot if he hesitated even a second longer:
"I'm the second-in-command of a branch of the Bloods' West District headquarters! Marcus King is my older brother, and he's in charge of this incident!"
"This shipment belongs to our branch. If you let me go... no, if you spare my life, I'll tell you anything! Our territory is south of 12th Street, and we have a few safe houses..."
To survive, the kid spilled the beans, selling out his brother, who had gone straight to the bank, completely.
They even revealed the names of the barbershop and shell real estate company that Marcus's family used for money laundering.
Lyon listened silently, memorizing the information.
These are all bargaining chips for subsequent liquidation.
Just when Darlis thought he had finished explaining and could finally catch his breath, Leon suddenly remembered something and increased the pressure on his feet.
"There's one more question."
Leon narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze becoming even more dangerous:
"I just found a tent in that open space over there."
"There was a homeless man inside who had been skinned alive and dismembered as neatly as pork in a supermarket."
"Did you do that?"
Upon hearing this, Darlis, who was already terrified, revealed a genuine expression on his face, a mixture of disgust and fear.
"No, it wasn't me. God is my witness, I may sell drugs, but I'm not a pervert!"
Darlis shook his head frantically, trying his best to distance himself from the situation.
"It's him, it's that madman!"
He pointed a trembling finger at the underside of an SUV not far away.
There, Viper, the mercenary captain whose shoulder had been destroyed by Leon's bullet, lay unconscious in the muddy water, the blood from his severed arm staining a large patch of puddles red.
"It was him, that mercenary named Viper!"
Darlis swallowed hard, his voice trembling:
"These veterans are all crazy... While we were waiting for the shipment to be delivered, he got bored and said he was going to find some fun."
"I originally thought it was a woman, really! But it wasn't."
"He said he used to do this all the time in the Middle East...it was his 'art'. I just...I just didn't want to upset him, so I ignored it."
"It's none of my business, I'm just a salesperson!"
Lyon looked in the direction he was pointing.
Even in his unconscious state, the burly man's brows remained furrowed, and the hideous scar on his face looked particularly terrifying under the red light of the car's taillights.
"OK."
Daryl King saw Leon looking at the SUV and felt a surge of joy. It seemed that the devil's attention was completely drawn to the mercenary. If he continued to play dead, he would most likely survive.
"Click".
A soft sound came, and Darius stiffly raised his head, only to find that the tall figure had turned back, those cold eyes staring down at him.
"What...what's wrong now?"
Darlis's voice trembled, his teeth chattering. "Sir? I...I've told you everything! Addresses, lists, safe houses...I've given you everything! The skinning had nothing to do with me!"
"Yes, you confessed very readily."
Leon nodded, but instead of moving the gun away, he slowly raised it, pointing it at Darius's forehead.
"But I've been thinking about something, Darlis."
"You're the second-in-command, you have a rich and powerful older brother, and a group of highly paid Jewish lawyers."
"If I hand you over to the FBI right now, will you go to jail? Maybe. But most likely it will be a few years, or even less."
"What will you do when you get out, or when you're bored in prison?"
Leon tilted his head, as if chatting casually with an old friend:
"You'd think, 'That damn cop humiliated me, I'm going to kill his whole family,' right? You'd pay a hitman, or have your brother's men plant a bomb under my car."
"No, I swear! I would never dare..."
Darlis was crying and sniffling, waving his hands frantically, and desperately trying to move his body backward.
I don't believe it.
Lyon coldly interrupted him, "I don't like gambling, especially gambling with my life."
"Only the dead won't get up in the middle of the night to come looking for debts."
"No!!!"
Darlis let out a desperate scream.
"Bang!"
A gunshot rang out, swift and decisive.
The screams stopped abruptly.
Darlis's head snapped back, revealing a dark red hole between his eyebrows. He crashed heavily back into the mud, his limbs twitched twice, and then he lay still.
The ACU team members, who were frantically looting the bodies, were startled by the gunshot and looked up.
When they saw Leon expressionlessly put away his gun, and the Blood Gang's second-in-command already a corpse, the scene fell silent for a second.
Immediately afterwards, a burst of cheers and whistles erupted, even more enthusiastic than before.
"Whoa!!!"
"Well done, boss!"
"This is the kind of leader we've been looking for!"
With that shot, Lyon completely cemented his identity as one of his own.
"Don't just stare."
Leon kicked Darius's corpse with his toe:
"This kid seems to have a few decent teeth in his mouth, and the watch on his wrist looks like a Patek Philippe."
"This is an extra bonus; whoever grabs it keeps it."
"Thanks, boss!"
Several group members who were nearby instantly turned green with envy and pounced on it like sharks smelling blood.
