The sun was shining brightly at the village entrance, and several elderly people put the table in the shade and started playing cards again.

Ji's father forced his way in, and the others looked at him with disdain.

"Hey, why are you playing your cards so slowly?" Father Ji complained, his brows furrowed.

The old man opposite him didn't look too good either: "If you're going to talk so much, then don't come up and fight."

Ji's father gave an awkward smile and remained silent.

He looked at the cigarettes on the table, casually took one out, and then bent down to pick up the old man's lighter across from him and lit it.

The owner of the cigarettes looked impatient and simply put them in his pocket.

Father Ji pointed at him while holding up his cigarette: "Stingy."

When Ji's father scolded him for being stingy, the man didn't react at all; he genuinely didn't want to talk to him, not even for a second.

Just then, a dusty white car stopped next to them, and a moment later, a man in a wrinkled Brazilian suit got out of the car.

He was carrying a briefcase and had a big smile on his face: "Oh, Grandpa Wang, you're still so healthy!"

The salesman chuckled as he squeezed into the card table, bending down to hand out cigarettes to everyone.

Normally, the person the village looked down on the most was Ji's father, but now that this salesman was around, Ji's father started to put on airs and sneered.

"The insurance salesmen are here again. If you want to go, go ask those young people. Why are you asking us old folks? Where would we get the money?" Father Ji said with amusement.

The salesperson kept introducing his insurance, interrupting Ji's father with either a sneer or exaggerated gestures.

He wasn't actually targeting the salesperson on purpose; it's just that he was being watched, so he couldn't help but put on a show.

The salesperson who's been inexplicably criticized countless times: ...

The salesperson didn't bother with him anymore and just kept looking at Grandpa Wang next to him.

"Grandpa, when a person eats grains and cereals, there's bound to be some kind of accident. Have you heard of that grandpa over there on the west side of the village? He also bought this insurance from me."

Upon hearing the words "west of the village," Grandpa Wang looked up and said, "The one in the west of the village lost a lot of money."

The salesman got more and more excited as he talked, and before long, everyone else stopped playing cards and listened attentively to him.

Ji's father kept shouting that this was a fraud, but no one paid any attention to him.

Feeling bored being alone, Mr. Ji went straight home, his mind filled with the salesman's words.

If he were to buy one too, and then find a bastard on the street...

As soon as he got home, he immediately called Ji Fangyun, but he couldn't get through. He then called Ji Chaoxi, but still no one answered.

He was so angry that he slammed the phone down and started looking around the house for anything of value.

As he searched, a scene suddenly flashed through his mind: hadn't Ji Fangyun bought her sister a gold necklace and gold earrings before...?

"All you do is spend my money," Father Ji spat, looking thoughtfully at the house not far away.

At the racetrack, as soon as I approached the platform, my ears were throbbed by the intense roar, and the air was filled with the acrid smell of tire friction.

Every time a car passed by, the people in the stands would scream.

Ji Chaoxi, wearing a hat and holding tongs, appeared and began to pick up bottles amidst the bewildered looks of those around her.

They were pretending to grab the bottle; their real intention was to ask for money.

Ji Chaoxi stared intently at the cars in the racetrack, though she didn't know which one Zhou Chiye was driving.

Zhou Chiye probably doesn't know that he has provoked a money-devouring beast!

After a while, the roar on the track finally stopped, replaced by the sound of engines cooling down.

The car door swung up, and Zhou Chiye stepped out, bracing himself against the roof. He took off his helmet, his hair somewhat disheveled.

As soon as Zhou Chiye came out, the people in the stands started making monkey noises.

"Wow, Ye-ge is so cool!"

"Old Lin, you're a loser! Don't you even know who you're comparing yourself to?"

Zhou Chiye went up to the platform, leaned against the railing, took a few sips of water from someone else, and suddenly caught a familiar figure out of the corner of his eye.

Upon looking at him, their eyes met.

Zhou Chiye frowned as he looked at her. She was wearing a hat, but it didn't really help; her face was still bright red from the sun. She was holding the clip and squeezing it so hard that her fingertips turned white.

Zhou Chiye looked at her impatiently. The money he gave her shouldn't be enough to make her come here to pick up bottles, and put on such a pitiful look.

If she can't even take good care of herself, then no amount of help from others will help her.

Those around Zhou Chiye felt the cold aura emanating from him and were momentarily confused.

Why is Ye Ge angry again? I really can't understand his temper.

Ji Chaoxi was glared at by Zhou Chiye and went to pick up bottles elsewhere in a low mood.

Zhou Chiye frowned as he watched her receding figure, then burst into laughter in exasperation.

Before anyone could react, Zhou Chiye grabbed Ji Chaoxi in a few steps and began poking her shoulder with a fierce expression, causing Ji Chaoxi to stumble back several steps.

This time, not only Ji Chaoxi was dumbfounded, but everyone around her was dumbfounded.

"Ye... Brother Ye," Ji Chaoxi whispered, her eyes reddening.

Zhou Chiye had a cold face and was furious. He pulled Ji Chaoxi, who was near the stairs, back and poked her a few more times.

The others looked shocked.

Someone quickly came over: "Brother Ye, it's not that serious. The person just grabbed a bottle and didn't do anything to you. It's really not that big of a deal."

"Yeah, Ye-ge, don't push girls."

The bespectacled guy next to him was sweating profusely. How did Wild Bro evolve to the point where he even bullies girls?

Zhou Chiye's tone was cold and hard: "Why are you trying to grab bottles again on such a hot day? Are you short of money?"

Ji Chaoxi whispered, "Brother Ye, there's never enough money."

Zhou Chiye scoffed, his eyes fixed on her: "How much money can you make picking up these bottles? Is it more than what I'm transferring to you? By the time you die from the heat, will you even be alive to spend it?"

The man with the four glasses kept glancing between the two of them, trying to smooth things over: "It's really not that bad, Brother Ye. It's a bit hot, but it won't kill you."

If anyone's going to die from the sun, it'll be Zhou Chiye first, since he loves playing basketball in the blazing sun.

Zhou Chiye looked at Ji Chaoxi, who had her head down, and was furious: "You're not afraid of getting sunburned? Your face is all red, your hands are all red, you're wobbling from the sun, and you're dragging this big machine, and you call that not being afraid of getting sunburned?!"

He watched as she dragged such a large machine and almost tripped.

He really had no idea what she was thinking!

Is money more important than health?

An eerie silence fell over the air.

Xiao Si glanced at Zhou Chiye's face; Ye-ge's face was much redder from the sun than this girl's. Perhaps he should worry about himself first...

The man with the four glasses cleared his throat: "Miss, Brother Ye is just concerned about you. Don't make him worry next time. And don't try to open this bottle for now."
