My father's inheritance is my mortal enemy.

Chapter 108 Li Bo Doesn't Want Him

The moment Li Bo saw the message, his body stiffened. He picked up his coat again, draped it over his arm, left the office, took the elevator down, and only put his coat back on when he reached the company entrance. Without even bothering to zip it up, he strode towards the door.

The security guard noticed Li Bo's undone jacket and said, "Mr. Bo, is someone delivering documents? You could have just given me a call. It's cold; you should dress warmly. It's snowing heavily outside, and you'll easily catch a cold."

"It's nothing." Li Bo walked past the security guard and left the company gate.

A black car was parked at the entrance, and a tall figure holding an umbrella stood next to it. In the darkness, Zhou Yanshao had his head down, his legs crossed, and his back against the car door. The cold wind blew through his hair, and his breath floated in the air.

Perhaps due to prolonged head-down posture, his neck felt somewhat uncomfortable. Zhou Yanshao touched the back of his neck, slightly raised his head, and moved his shoulder bones.

The athlete's senses were very sharp. Just as Li Bo took two steps toward him, Zhou Yanshao glanced at him sideways and then went over with his umbrella.

The office had indoor heating, but Li Bo was dressed lightly and rushed out. The wind blew into his clothes, making him shiver from the cold.

Zhou Yanshao walked up to Li Bo, pulled Li Bo into his arms with his large hands, and pulled his open trench coat tighter, warming his body.

Li Bo's hand gently grasped the hand on his waist.

Zhou Yanshao, holding an umbrella, led Li Bo into the car.

Li Bo glanced at him and asked, "What brings you here?"

"A blizzard is coming soon. The previous residents needed to build a shed to store wood, so I came to help. I was busy until too late to get back to the base," Zhou Yanshao explained. "I didn't come specifically to see you."

"Hmm." Li Bo looked at Zhou Yanshao's hands. There were several cuts on Zhou Yanshao's palms, probably from injuries sustained while moving things. "Your hands are cut. Were you not wearing gloves while working?"

"Take it off."

The car quickly arrived at a nearby hotel.

When we checked in, only one standard double room was left. The receptionist said that the blizzard came suddenly, and many people couldn't go home, so they had to find a nearby hotel to stay in, as most of the surrounding hotels were full.

After checking in, Li Bo asked, "Do you have iodine?"

"Oh, yes."

The receptionist gave Li Bo some iodine and cotton swabs, which Li Bo took upstairs and applied to Zhou Yanshao's wound. Actually, the wound wasn't big; Zhou Yanshao himself hadn't even noticed it.

As Li Bo applied the medicine, his brow furrowed. "Does it hurt?"

Zhou Yanshao stared at Li Bo, lost in thought. When their eyes met, he snapped back to reality and said, "It doesn't hurt."

"It's cold in Northern Europe, and your hands are prone to chilblains. This wound isn't big, but puncture wounds are the easiest for bacteria to get in, and they hurt, so you need to be more careful."

"The thorn isn't left inside, so there won't be an infection, and it won't hurt."

Falling is common in Nordic training, and Zhou Yanshao, unlike Li Bo, is particularly afraid of pain. Li Bo, during high school, was extremely afraid of pain and death; he was timid. However, this vulnerable side was rarely seen by others, except for Zhou Yanshao, who knew it best.

"I told you to be careful, so be careful."

Li Bo rarely showed him such concern, applying medicine to his wounds. Zhou Yanshao no longer objected: "Oh..."

Li Bo smiled, applied the medicine to Zhou Yanshao, and then had to coax him for a while.

After applying the medicine, Li Bo was about to return the iodine solution when Zhou Yanshao took it away and brought it downstairs. When he returned, Li Bo was already lying down.

Zhou Yanshao took off his clothes, tossed his phone aside, turned off the light, and lay down next to Li Bo.

In the darkness, Li Bo slightly turned to Zhou Yanshao, leaning closer: "Six years ago, when you first returned to China, I kept asking you to go skiing. Why didn't you want to go?"

Six years ago, Zhou Huiyuan passed away, and Zhou Yanshao returned to China.

Li Bo had even booked a ski resort for Zhou Yanshao, but Zhou Yanshao never went skiing. He stayed in Beijing for almost half a month without ever going to a ski resort. Whenever Li Bo brought this up, Zhou Yanshao would always have an excuse.

Ever since Li Bo learned that Zhou Yanshao suffered from bipolar disorder, he would often think about the past, especially during his free time.

Even after a long time, Li Bo still remembers clearly the little emotions that he hasn't dealt with.

"No reason," Zhou Yanshao said, "I'm sleepy, I'm going to sleep."

Zhou Yanshao was very reluctant to talk about this.

Six years ago, Zhou Yanshao considered leaving the Nordic base, returning to Beijing to take over Zhihuai, and giving up skiing.

Nordic combined is extremely dangerous. At the time, an athlete at the training base was injured and became permanently disabled. Zhou Yanshao had never been afraid of pain or injury since he chose to become an athlete, but the situation was different then...

With Zhou Huiyuan gone, if Zhou Yanshao is injured as well, there will be no one to protect Li Bo.

If Zhou Yanshao gets into trouble, what will happen to Li Bo? Will Li Bo have to go back to his high school days? He will suffer all kinds of bullying from the Li family, with no one to talk to and no one to protect him.

The capital city is vast, but there is no place for Li Bo to stay.

So even though Li Bo hadn't replied to his messages for two years and hadn't visited him even when he was seriously injured, Zhou Yanshao still made this decision. He had made this decision before returning to the capital.

He wanted to give Li Bo a home.

Regardless of why Li Bo didn't reply to messages before, as long as he's in the capital, I can keep Li Bo by my side no matter what.

But Zhou Yanshao wasn't without temper. At the Zhou family funeral, when he saw Li Bo, Li Bo was nonchalant, willingly taking the beating without offering a single word of explanation. Zhou Yanshao said something harsh, and soon regretted it.

Fortunately, Li Bo came looking for him later, and Zhou Yanshao took him back to Xizi Bay. Li Bo cried that night, saying that his clothes were wet and he was too cold.

Zhou Yanshao did not believe it.

This was the first time Li Bo had cried in front of him.

Zhou Yanshao knew that Li Bo was not a crybaby. He never cried when Li Cheng bullied him, he never cried when the Li family cut off his supplies and he went hungry, he never cried when he had a high fever and was on the verge of death, and he wouldn't cry even if he was afraid of pain.

Li Bo doesn't cry easily, and he certainly won't cry because he's cold.

That night, Li Bo said that he had approached him in the first place for the Zhou family's power, but Zhou Yanshao didn't care and forgave him. There's nothing wrong with wanting to live, and there's nothing wrong with Li Bo's selfishness, because the world has never been fair to Li Bo and has never given him anything.

Li Bo's methods were despicable, but he simply considered his own interests more carefully.

Zhou Yanshao liked Li Bo; he liked Li Bo completely.

No one can be all good.

That night, the tears that slid down Li Bo's cheeks remained in Zhou Yanshao's heart like blood for many years.

He became even more determined to stay and give Li Bo a home.

He willingly allowed Li Bo to step on him, take control of Zhihuai, and rise to a high position. In the Li family, he transformed himself and would no longer be bullied.

Li Bo wanted him to go back to Northern Europe, saying he would watch his competition and hoped he could win a trophy.

Zhou Yanshao listened to and acted upon all of these words.

Even though he was mentally resistant to skiing, he still returned to Northern Europe. During that time, he didn't tell Li Bo a single word about his injury. When Li Bo came to visit him in Northern Europe, he simply said that skiing injuries were normal.

Li Bo had no idea that Zhou Yanshao would risk his life for something he had casually mentioned: bringing back a trophy to win glory for the country.

Zhou Yanshao never expected that he would keep his promise, but Li Bo would reject him.

Li Bo didn't like trophies; he just wanted to send him somewhere far away.

Li Bo knew that Scandinavia was cold, but he didn't care.
