The Su family villa was filled with a lazy warmth after lunch, and classic skits from previous Spring Festival Galas were playing on the television.

Xie Wang sat on the sofa peeling an orange.

The phone screen vibrated twice on the coffee table.

He placed the peeled orange segments on the white porcelain plate in front of Su Qinghe.

"Uncle and Aunt, I'm going out to get something."

Lin Wanyi watched him get dressed.

"You're getting a package delivered during the Lunar New Year? It's so cold outside, come back soon."

Xie Wang smiled and responded.

He pushed open the door and stepped out of the villa; the biting winter wind instantly dispelled the warmth inside.

Xie Wang walked into the courtyard, opened the door of the black Mercedes SUV, and got in.

He started the car and drove out of the villa area, following the navigation to a logistics transfer station on the edge of the high-tech zone.

The logistics station is now empty; most of the workers have gone home for the Chinese New Year.

A young logistics worker wearing thick overalls was standing next to a large truck, rubbing his hands together from the cold.

Xie Wang parked his car and walked over.

"Is this Mr. Xie?"

The deliveryman checked the order number to confirm.

Xie Wang nodded and said, "It's me. Thank you for making this trip during the New Year."

The deliveryman carried a huge cardboard box out from the back of the cargo compartment.

The box was enormous, and it bore the logo of a well-known fireworks manufacturer in Jiangnan.

Xie Wang went over and helped the young man lift the behemoth into the trunk of the SUV.

The spacious trunk was packed full.

Xie Wang took out a red paper package that he had prepared beforehand from his pocket and handed it to the deliveryman.

"Working overtime during the Lunar New Year is just for good luck. Happy New Year!"

The deliveryman paused for a moment before catching the thick, heavy red paper package.

His eyes instantly felt hot.

"Thank you, Mr. Xie. Happy New Year! Wishing you and your family a happy and prosperous year."

The young man wiped his eyes with the rough back of his hand, his face beaming with the most genuine smile of the winter.

Xie Wang smiled, closed the trunk, got into the driver's seat, and started the car.

He had previously checked the regulations for setting off fireworks in Jiangcheng.

The Genting Music Room is located in the heart of the city center, where the setting off of any fireworks or firecrackers is strictly prohibited.

However, the Su family villa is located on the outskirts of the city.

Just a few hundred meters outside, there is a vast, empty wasteland, located in a safe but unmanaged blind spot.

Xie Wang drove the car back to the Su family villa and parked it steadily in the yard.

He didn't rush to bring the huge firework down; after all, it was a surprise.

Xie Wang pushed open the door and entered the living room.

I had barely stepped inside when the doorbell rang.

Su Chengyun went over and opened the door.

Su Yu's parents walked in carrying many beautifully packaged gift boxes, bringing with them the chill of the outside air.

"Happy Chinese New Year, elder brother and sister-in-law!"

Su Yu's father exchanged pleasantries while placing the items in the entryway.

Upon hearing the sound, Su Yu scrambled up from the carpet, her once lively face immediately drooping.

"Why are Mom and Dad here so early?"

Su Yu's voice clearly betrayed his reluctance.

Su Yu's mother went over and pinched his round cheeks.

"You little ingrate, you've been playing at your uncle's house for two days and you don't even want to go home, do you?"

Lin Wanyi came out of the kitchen carrying two cups of hot tea.

"Let's have dinner here."

Lin Wanyi smiled and invited them to sit down.

Su Yu's father waved his hand and said,

"Sister-in-law, don't bother. We still need to go back to our hometown to spend the New Year with Grandpa. We need to hurry and get on the highway, otherwise we might get stuck in traffic."

Upon hearing that they were leaving soon, Su Yu immediately ran to Xie Wang's side and hugged Xie Wang's legs tightly with her two small hands.

"Brother-in-law, I'm not leaving. I want to rank up with you."

The loud "brother-in-law!" stunned Su Yu's parents, who had just sat down on the sofa.

They looked at each other, their gazes shifting back and forth between Xie Wang and Su Qinghe.

Su Qinghe felt his ears burning again.

She cleared her throat, looked away, and picked up the water glass on the coffee table, pretending to drink some water.

Xie Wang, however, appeared calm, touching his head.

"Hello, uncles and aunts, my name is Xie Wang, and I'm Qinghe's boyfriend."

He looked down at the small pendant on his leg and reached out to rub Su Yu's head.

"You'd better be a good boy and go back with your parents to spend the New Year with your grandpa. After the New Year, you can call me anytime with your tablet, and I promise I'll help you climb that rank."

Su Yu looked up to confirm.

"Really? Brother-in-law, you can't lie to children. That's something adults do."

Xie Wang chuckled softly.

"Have I ever lied to you? I always keep my word."

Xie Wang patiently soothed the young master's emotions.

Su Yu then reluctantly let go.

He was led by his mother towards the door, looking back every few steps.

Xie Wang followed Su Chengyun and the others to the villa entrance to see the guests off.

"Uncle and Auntie, drive carefully on your way back. Happy New Year."

Xie Wangli bid farewell to the two elders with utmost courtesy.

Looking at this extraordinary young man, Su Yu's father secretly admired him.

"Okay, okay, Happy New Year! Xiao Xie, come over to our house sometime."

The black sedan drove out of the villa area gate, and Su Yu was still waving at Xie Wang through the car window.

Su Qinghe stood beside Xie Wang and exhaled a puff of white mist.

"Finally, I've gotten rid of that little devil. My ears feel so much quieter now."

Xie Wang turned his head to look at her, his tone casual.

"Teacher Su seems to dislike him, but he's actually quite smart."

Su Qinghe rolled her eyes at him.

"You'll spoil him. Wait until he gets scolded by the teacher when school starts, then see how you handle it."
