Chapter 231 Operations
Upon entering the game, Li Chen originally planned to buy a Doran's Ring, but before leaving the fountain, he returned it to the shopkeeper and exchanged it for a Potion of Corruption.
Both sides played very cautiously at level one, with no intention of invading the opponent's jungle. They simply stood in their designated positions and exchanged glances.
After Li Chen met Syndra, he checked Faker's stats for this game and found that he had indeed brought attack damage runes and started with a Corrupting Potion.
Actually, Faker's strategy was out of necessity. He needed to pressure Li Chen in the early game, but Li Chen's positioning was too good, making it difficult for his skills to hit. He could only use basic attacks to compensate for the skill damage.
As both sides' minions came online, Faker played very aggressively at level one, directly bypassing the melee minions and standing in front of the red team's ranged minions.
Li Chen tentatively took two steps forward, wanting to see what skill Faker had chosen at level one.
But as a long-time rival, Faker knew Li Chen's positioning too well, so he didn't even think about using any skills, and just silently launched a basic attack.
Li Chen frowned slightly. He noticed that Faker was also using the minion's attack intervals.
"This is more interesting. System, give me some points and upgrade the Murloc to the Weaving Master level."
Feeling a slight pressure, Li Chen silently said something to himself.
In an instant, Li Chen's understanding of how to play the Murloc was greatly improved, and the real battle officially began.
Even so, Li Chen had no intention of going head-to-head with Faker in the first three levels. As long as the other party didn't go too far, he didn't plan to fight back.
As the melee minions gradually lost health, FakerA killed one minion and then moved forward again.
Li Chen only just learned the E skill and used the pole vault to jump up and try to farm minions.
Faker timed his attack perfectly, placing his Q skill at the feet of a minion, intending to attack both the minion and Li Chen together.
However, Li Chen wasn't one to suffer losses for nothing. He used a double jump to move to the side and dodge the Q skill, but this also resulted in his E skill only killing two minions.
After taking down the third minion with a basic attack, Li Chen immediately moved to the side.
Syndra, thanks to her ability to cast spells while moving, managed to chase down the Murloc and land two auto-attacks before being forced to distance herself.
This simple exchange can be seen as a microcosm of the early stages of the two players' relationship.
Next, Faker, relying on his higher basic attack damage, forced Li Chen to be unable to jump in and trade blows with him, and could only passively take hits and farm minions.
However, the situation began to change slightly as the two reached level two.
Faker currently has lane control, with the blue team having two more minions than the red team, and he is also slowly pushing the lane.
Although Li Chen had no intention of competing with Faker for lane priority, he wouldn't just stand by and watch Faker accumulate a large wave of minions and push into the tower, as that would put too much pressure on the jungle.
So Li Chen went up, pretending to want to last-hit minions, and used his E skill the moment Faker was about to auto-attack.
At this moment, Faker realized something was wrong and understood that Li Chen wanted to attack the minions, but it was too late. Fizz used his E skill to sit down and attack both the minions and the enemy, then immediately followed up with an auto-attack.
Faker uses the Fizz's auto-attack animation to throw his Q skill at his feet, then retreats while continuing to auto-attack.
Li Chen didn't level up his W skill at level 2, and with both of them using Corruption Potion, trading blows wasn't advantageous, so Faker wasn't afraid.
At this point, Fizz still had his Q skill available, and Faker also had his E skill at hand, but neither of them used it immediately.
Faker was still adjusting his position, trying to use his E to push the ball and stun Li Chen.
After Li Chen landed his second auto-attack and triggered Thunderlord's Decree, Faker repositioned himself and used his E skill, but Fizz also chose to use his Q on the minions to the side.
In the final exchange, Faker gained a slight advantage of a few dozen health points, but Li Chen had already achieved his goal of balancing the minion waves, so it wasn't a complete loss.
Four minutes into the game, after reaching level three, Li Chen gradually gained the upper hand. Although he didn't push the lane too far, Faker didn't dare to push forward recklessly anymore.
The two players in the mid lane are currently at a standstill in terms of development, but the two players in the top lane are not doing so well.
Logically speaking, Fiora should have a certain advantage against Renekton before level 3, especially when Renekton has no Fury.
However, Huni's performance in this game was rather poor. Not only did he fail to suppress the Renekton, but he was also pressured by the Renekton by five CS because Clearlove showed up in the top lane twice.
Peanut also tried to find opportunities in the bot lane, but it wasn't very effective. He only managed to get Scout to use his Heal, and the two supports traded Flashes.
At four and a half minutes, Li Chen cleared the minion wave first and retreated all the way to the tower to recall.
After Faker finished clearing the lane and returned home, he noticed that Li Chen hadn't logged on yet, which immediately made him suspicious. So instead of using teleport, he walked to log on, so he could teleport immediately if anything went wrong.
"Be careful, god_C hasn't teleported back online. He might be out catching someone. Huni, you go back to town first."
Huni in the top lane hasn't returned to base yet, and his health is very low. Although Peanut is currently in the top half of the map, it's hard to say whether it will be easy for Fizz to tower dive.
But just then, Wolf from the bottom lane spoke up anxiously: "Sang-hyeok-hyung, Fizz is down here!"
From God's perspective, after the Murlocs returned home, they first sent the Gragas through the Dragon Pit to place a ward, and then teleported directly to the back of the Blue Team's Tier 1 tower.
At this point, facing EDG's pushing rhythm in the bottom lane, as well as the flanking maneuvers of Gragas and Fizz, SKT's bottom lane situation can be described as quite precarious.
Without hesitation, Faker immediately used his teleportation ability.
"retreat!"
Li Chen barely hesitated. Seeing Faker use his teleport, he immediately ordered Clearlove to retreat.
His goal in this wave was to force Faker to use his teleport, in order to prepare for the next wave of attack.
As Fizz and Gragas disappeared from the jungle, Faker immediately realized a serious problem: he had used his teleport too early.
He should have waited until EDG made their move before using Teleport, but now that EDG has retreated, he's in a very awkward position.
If they don't land, EDG can immediately turn around and dive the tower again.
Land now. SKT's bottom jungle is almost completely dark right now, so it's nearly impossible for him to go straight back to mid lane from the bottom lane. Otherwise, if he gets ambushed, he'll be in serious trouble.
Off the field, Kouma saw this and silently closed his eyes.
He knew the game was over.
SKT was swept in two consecutive games, their command system and operations were completely in disarray, and they had no rhythm whatsoever.
Peanut was practically sleepwalking the whole game, and now Faker is having problems too.
He didn't even need to think; Li Chen would definitely stockpile a wave of minions upon returning to lane, locking Faker in the mid lane, and then continue roaming.
Facing a Fizz champion with tower-diving ability, SKT's top and bottom lanes either have to lose lanes if they don't want to feed kills.
