League: Educating LPL is my duty.
Chapter 195 contains something, but not much.
Neither side came up with any crazy ideas at level one; they both went straight to the lane.
Li Chen, unusually, did not pick a strong hero and immediately push the lane, but instead went to lane with his own minions.
To be honest, if Riven uses her Q to fight head-on at level one, Renekton really won't have a good chance of winning.
For Renekton, the real power spike against Riven is after level three, especially after reaching level six and stacking fifty Fury. That's when Renekton is at his full potential, and he can kill anyone he catches.
Expect is jokingly called "Little Rui" in the European region, and he certainly doesn't deserve the nickname. He knows that level one is an advantage, so he routinely uses Q to try and gain an edge.
As the minion waves of both sides converged, Riven unleashed her second Broken Wings attack. Li Chen positioned himself slightly in front of the ranged minions, maintaining a distance from Riven, and attempted to engage the minions.
Seeing this, Expect immediately took two steps forward, intending to deliver a triple Q to the crocodile.
However, Li Chen understood Riven too well. He pressed S at the edge of the Q skill range and turned around and retreated on the spot, giving Expect an ambiguous distance that was neither too close nor too distant.
Expect chased for two steps but couldn't close the distance, and the three-stage Q he was holding was about to go on cooldown, so he had no choice but to turn around and use it to kill minions.
"You dare to use Q minions? You want to take lane control?"
Li Chen was somewhat surprised by Expect's courage, but his hands moved quickly, and he immediately turned around after Riven.
So far, Expect doesn't know which skill Li Chen leveled up at level one, and since his Q skill is on cooldown, he doesn't dare to engage Li Chen head-on and can only retreat to give way.
Li Chen took the opportunity to auto-attack a minion twice, while mentally estimating Riven's skill cooldowns.
With about two seconds left on Riven's Q skill, he controlled Renekton to retreat again, giving up the right to last-hit minions.
During the Expect phase, he only attacked a minion once, leaving the remaining two stacks of his passive on hand, clearly indicating that he still wanted to find an opportunity to launch another attack.
However, Li Chen widened the distance too quickly, not giving expectAQ a chance to start.
"At this distance, catching up with two Qs and then using AQ shouldn't be a loss, right?"
Expect glanced at the distance between himself and the crocodile, quickly calculated in his mind, and after confirming that two Q attacks could catch up with the crocodile, he still chose to make his move.
QQ closes the distance, and a basic attack is launched. Li Chen immediately turns around and performs a basic attack followed by QQ, and begins to move forward to block the opponent's movement.
Expect was still taking damage from minions and didn't dare to stand and fight Li Chen to the end, so he used a three-stage Q to knock up Li Chen and then retreated, without being greedy for the last auto-attack.
After the first exchange of blows, both sides were roughly equal in condition. Expect landed two Qs, but only managed one auto-attack in between, and also took damage from minions, so he didn't gain an advantage.
At this point, Li Chen also made a preliminary assessment of Expect's Riven: she had something, but not much.
The combos were fairly smooth, but the laning phase was too formulaic. In terms of understanding Riven, it wasn't as good as someone like Black and White's signature moves.
If it were him, he wouldn't have rushed to use the three-stage Q.
At this point, neither side had any skills available, and the melee minions were already low on health, so they both tacitly chose to last-hit the minions first.
However, Expect was still intentionally or unintentionally getting closer to Li Chen, hoping to take the opportunity to steal a passive basic attack.
Li Chen simply didn't give her any chances, not even letting a single minion slip by, nor did he give Riven a chance to steal damage.
After the melee soldier died, Li Chen once again entered a conservative state, positioning himself far back, neither attacking nor fighting.
Expect was eager to find an opportunity to trade blows, as his power spike was at levels one and two. If he didn't find an opportunity to reduce the crocodile's health, he would be basically unable to play after level three. To this end, he even pushed the minion wave.
However, as the second wave of minions spawned, Expect couldn't withstand the minion damage and had to retreat. Li Chen took this opportunity to quickly move forward and attack the minions to build up his rage.
At this point, Riven still controlled the lane. After last-hitting the ranged minions, Expect pushed forward again while waiting to level up to level two.
Li Chen glanced at his status bar. He currently had 48 points of rage, enough to trigger the Bloodrage state with a single basic attack, so he gave Expect a chance.
Seeing that the crocodile did not retreat in time, Expect immediately auto-attacked a low-health melee minion in front of him, then used Q to dash forward, dealing skill damage to the minion at the same time, leveling it up to level two.
At this moment, Expect instantly activated his E skill, dashed to the crocodile's side, started with a basic attack followed by Q, and attempted a lightning-fast QA combo before retreating.
Li Chen controlled the crocodile to perform a basic attack, building up his Bloodrage, then took a step forward and used his Flash to catch Riven's third Q animation.
After dodging Riven's three-part Q with Flash, Li Chen didn't turn around to attack Riven. Instead, he spun around and used Bloodrage Q to heal himself. Then, he auto-attacked the minion with the lowest health and leveled up to level two.
At this moment, expect saw his three Q attacks miss, his pupils contracted, and he thought to himself that something was wrong.
He felt like he had seen this scene somewhere before.
Li Chen didn't stop. After leveling up to level two, he didn't level up any skills. Instead, he turned around and started auto-attacking Riven.
Riven is currently trapped behind him, all of her skills are on cooldown, and since Riven didn't block her Q, her Q skill cooldown is about 9 seconds away.
Those 9 seconds basically define Riven's entire life.
Expect gritted his teeth and retreated while exchanging blows with the crocodile, sweat gradually forming on his forehead.
Although his health is now almost the same as the crocodile's, and his Battle Fever stacks are already maxed out.
But he knew that if he continued fighting like this, he would be the one to die in the end, because the crocodile's Q skill would definitely be better than his Q, and he didn't even know which skill the crocodile had leveled up at level two.
Should I use my Flash?
Expect felt a little hesitant.
If he flashes now, he'll still be able to be hit by Renekton's auto-attacks after flashing. If Renekton uses W to stun him, he won't die, but he'll definitely lose a lot of health.
Furthermore, the crocodile can take this opportunity to turn back and farm minions to build up rage and recover his strength. At that point, he will basically be unable to lane and will have to go back to base to replenish supplies and use his teleport.
But if he doesn't use Flash, and Renekton uses his E skill again, he'll definitely die this time.
After a moment's internal struggle, Expect ultimately used Flash.
What happened next was pretty much as he expected. After flashing, Li Chen used W to bite him and followed up with a basic attack before retreating.
Expect's health was too low and his skills weren't ready, so he didn't dare to chase. He could only watch as the crocodile turned around to farm minions and build up his Bloodrage, while he silently pressed recall.
In the hotel room, Peanut looked at Riven recalling to base on the screen and couldn't help but chuckle. He then posed another probing question to his senior, Huni.
"This Riven's moves are so familiar. Have I seen her somewhere before? It's so hard to guess. But this Riven is still stronger. She didn't even use Flash and still got solo killed."
