Chang Kun had to drive the day after tomorrow, and that night, he and Cheng Min spent a long time together.

Under the dim light, Cheng Min's hair was scattered on the pillow. She was so exhausted that she didn't even have the strength to push him away. She could only hum softly, her voice soft and sticky, like melted syrup.

"I'm not coming... I really'm not coming..." she pleaded, her voice barely audible, like a mosquito's buzz.

Chang Kun looked down at her. Cheng Min's eyes were watery, her face was as red as if it were about to bleed, her lips were slightly parted, and she looked both pitiful and alluring as she breathed heavily.

His heart softened for a moment, but the anger hadn't subsided, and it was really hard to hold it in.

"Then help me," Chang Kun whispered something in her ear.

Cheng Min's face turned bright red instantly, burning from her ears all the way to the base of her neck, and even her chest turned pink.

She bit her lip, glared at Chang Kun with a look of both shame and anger, but did not refuse.

The light was still on, and Cheng Min blushed, "Shall I try?"

After a while, hearing Chang Kun cry out in pain, she asked softly, "Did I hurt you?"

Chang Kun took a deep breath and comforted Cheng Min, "You're already very talented."

Cheng Min rolled her eyes at him.

I don't care about this so-called talent!

My cheeks are sore from exhaustion!

Chang Kun leaned against the headboard, closed his eyes, and gradually entered a state of deep concentration.

After a long while, Cheng Min vomited twice, crawled out of the covers, turned around and glared at Chang Kun with a look of shame and anger in her eyes.

Chang Kun leaned against the headboard, looking at her like that, and couldn't help but laugh. He reached out and pulled her into his arms.

Cheng Min struggled a couple of times but couldn't break free, so she simply stopped moving, buried her face in his chest, and mumbled, "If you ever make me do this again, I'll... I'll..."

"What?" Chang Kun looked down at her, a mischievous smile on his lips.

Cheng Min thought for a long time but couldn't come up with anything that could threaten him. In the end, she bit his hand hard, leaving a shallow tooth mark.

Chang Kun hissed in pain, but laughed and hugged her even tighter.

Cheng Min was exhausted. She didn't even brush her teeth. Soon after, she closed her eyes, and her breathing became even and long.

He reached out and pulled the blanket up to cover her shoulders, then gently kissed her forehead before closing his eyes.

I'm going out on a trip the day after tomorrow. Even though it's only for two days, I'm still thinking about it.

The next morning, when Chang Kun got up, the courtyard was already bustling with activity.

The three girls, Xiaoqing, Xiaomu, and Xiaoshui, had gotten up early and were gathered around the stone table, chattering away.

Xiao Shui was clutching half an ear of corn in her hand, her cheeks bulging from eating. When she saw Chang Kun come out of the house, her eyes lit up. She threw the corn on the table and ran over as fast as she could.

"Big brother, big brother! Are you going to Tangshan? To my grandma's house?" Xiao Shui looked up, her voice high-pitched and crisp, and she was like a little sparrow hopping around Chang Kun.

Chang Kun was dizzy from her spinning around, and reached out to press her little head down: "Who told you that?"

"My mother said so! I overheard her and my aunt talking this morning!"

Xiao Shui blushed with excitement, grabbing Chang Kun's clothes and shaking them vigorously. "Big brother, take me with you! I want to see Grandma too!"

Chang Kun tugged at her braid: "Where are you going? You have school tomorrow."

"I can take a day off!" Xiao Shui said confidently. "Sister Xiao Qing said it's fine to take a day off!"

Xiao Qing was sitting at the stone table eating corn when she heard this. She almost spat out the kernels and waved her hands repeatedly, saying, "I didn't say that! Don't blame me!"

Xiao Shui didn't care and turned her head back to look at Chang Kun with her eyes wide and watery.

"Big brother, dear big brother, I've never seen Grandma in all my life... My mother said Grandma's eyesight is failing, and if we don't go see her soon, she won't be able to see me at all..."

Chang Kun's heart softened. Tangshan is not far from Beijing. In later times, it would only take an hour or two by high-speed train.

But now, this not-so-distant distance makes it difficult for relatives in both places to reunite, and even if something happens in the family, it takes a long time to learn about it.

Xiao Mu chimed in quietly, "Big brother, why don't we take her? Xiao Shui has been nagging about it all morning, and we're all annoyed by her."

Xiao Qing glared at Xiao Mu: "Say less."

Chang Kun stood up and ruffled Xiao Shui's hair: "Does your mother agree to let you go to Tangshan?"

Xiao Shui paused for a moment, her eyes darting around, then she took off running outside: "I'm going to ask my mother right now!"

Chang Kun couldn't catch her in time, and Xiao Shui had already run out of the courtyard gate, her braids swinging behind her as she ran faster than a rabbit.

Liu Meifen came out of the kitchen carrying a bowl of porridge. Watching Xiao Shui run off, she shook her head: "That girl is just like her father when he was a child, always rushing around."

Chang Dashan came out of the house, a cigarette in his hand. He tapped it on the threshold and said slowly, "The child is so grown up now, he should visit his maternal and paternal grandparents."

Chang Kun took the bowl of porridge from Liu Meifen, sat down, took a sip, and didn't say anything.

A short while later, Xiao Shui ran back.

This time, his steps weren't as fast, his lips were pouting so much they could hang an oil bottle, his head was down, and he shuffled his toes along the ground, muttering, "Mom won't let me go, she says I'll cause trouble if I go..."

Xiaoqing and Xiaomu exchanged a glance, then pursed their lips, neither daring to smile.

Xiao Shui raised her head, her eyes were red, but she didn't cry, though her voice was a little stuffy.

"Big brother, could you check on Grandma for me? See if she's alright, if she can see, and if Grandpa's legs hurt..."

She took something out of her pocket and put it in Chang Kun's hand.

It was a crumpled little piece of paper with a crooked little person drawn on it in pencil. The person had a round head, two upright braids, and a curved mouth, as if smiling.

"This is a drawing I made. Please take it to Grandma for me." Xiao Shui sniffed. "Let Grandma know that Xiao Shui has grown so tall."

Chang Kun carefully folded the piece of paper, put it in his inner pocket, and patted it: "Okay, I'll definitely bring it."

Xiao Shui then grinned, her eyes still glistening with tears.

Xiaoqing came over and took Xiaoshui's hand: "Alright, alright, stop crying, you'll be late for school!"

Xiao Shui was pulled a few steps by her, then turned back and shouted to Chang Kun, "Big brother, don't forget!"

"I can't forget it." Chang Kun waved to her.

She has never met her maternal grandmother since she was a child, which is indeed a bit of a regret.

He stroked his chin, pondering to himself.

I'll talk to my aunt when I get off work this afternoon and suggest that Xiaoshui go to Tangshan with me. Anyway, I'll be watching over her, so there shouldn't be any problems.

The little figure in the painting should be given to her grandparents by herself.

If this little girl knew she could take a train to visit her grandparents, she'd probably be overjoyed!
