The girls jumped up excitedly when they heard they were going hunting in the mountains.

"Big brother, I want to go!"

"Big pot...it's me!"

Looking at the pitiful, pleading eyes of the little girls, Chang Kun couldn't bear to refuse.

Chang Qing grabbed the sack, and Chang Mu picked up the hoe. The two of them rushed out of the courtyard gate, afraid that their older brother would not take them with him.

Chang Kun picked up his gun, put Xiao Changxiu on his shoulder, and led Cheng Min toward the root of the mountain.

Cheng Min couldn't help but look at Chang Kun. He was so good to his younger sister, letting her ride on his head so she wouldn't get tired.

I remember when I was little, I often rode on my older brother's head for fun. Now that I'm grown up, I no longer have that carefree feeling from my childhood.

As they walked to the foot of the mountain, they found the production team busy with farm work, and several familiar villagers greeted Chang Kun.

When the villagers saw a woman in a skirt following behind Chang Kun, their eyes widened in surprise.

This woman's fair complexion and willow-like figure clearly indicate that she is from the city.

After Chang Kun and his group walked over, the villagers started talking about it.

"Little Kun has become very capable; women from the city are all chasing after him."

"He kicked the girl from the Qin family next door out of the door, and now a city girl is showing up at his door. Is this still our village boy, Xiao Kun?"

"Hey, if you had Xiao Kun's looks and physique, you could do it too!"

"The key is to have the ability. These days, as long as I can eat meat, I'd be willing to accept even if the other person is Wu Dalang (a short, ugly man)."

"Perfect timing, your daughter can go find a Wu Dalang..."

"screw you!"

Cheng Min, with her sharp ears, overheard the villagers' chatter, and some of them blushed.

She came to Chang Kun's house simply to express her gratitude, but she didn't expect to be misunderstood by these villagers.

She thought to herself, "I won't dare come again next time."

Upon reaching the foot of the mountain, Chang Kun instructed his younger sisters to search for withered branches and fallen leaves.

Cheng Min also joined the little girls in collecting a bunch of branches.

Chang Kun had already blocked the other entrances to the rabbit burrows, and he signaled to Cheng Min to light a fire to smoke out the rabbit burrows.

Cheng Min was a little skeptical. Could this really work? It felt completely different from her father going into the mountains to hunt.

Whenever she has free time, she goes into the mountains with her father.

Each time, they would wander aimlessly in the mountains, only stopping to observe and search for the prey's tracks after spotting animal tracks.

Chang Kun, without even checking the rabbit burrow, directly claimed there were wild rabbits inside.

Cheng Min had just carefully examined the entrance to the hole, and there were no traces of wild rabbits there, no droppings, and no footprints. She didn't know where Chang Kun got the confidence to say there were wild rabbits inside.

At the entrance of another rabbit burrow, Chang Kun had already opened a burlap sack, waiting for the rabbits to be smoked out.

Seeing this, Cheng Min dropped the branches and told the girls to light them.

She then ran over to Chang Kun to see if there were any wild rabbits.

As the girls stuffed the smoldering branches into the rabbit hole, Cheng Min grew a little anxious.

Are there really wild rabbits?

After waiting for a minute or two without seeing the rabbit emerge, Cheng Min was about to ask.

A gray shadow flashed at the entrance of the cave and then disappeared into the sack.

"Bunny... Bunny!"

Xiao Changxiu, who was standing next to her, had already started shouting and was jumping up and down with joy as she pointed at the sack.

Cheng Min's eyes widened; she had actually caught a wild rabbit!

Chang Kun's luck is just too good. He just randomly found a hole and there was a wild rabbit inside.

Hearing this, Chang Qing and Chang Mu, ignoring the smell of the rabbit hole, quickly ran to Chang Kun's side.

"Brother, where are the wild rabbits?"

Before Chang Kun could answer, another flash appeared, and yet another wild rabbit darted into the sack.

"Wow! We're rich! We're rich!"

Chang Qing shouted excitedly.

Chang Kun glared at her and said irritably:

"Who taught you to say 'get rich'?"

The group chuckled; they were delighted to have caught something so soon after arriving at the foot of the mountain to hunt.

"Brother, open the sack and let me see."

This was the fruit of Chang Qing's own labor, and she wanted to take a good look at the wild rabbit she had caught.

"Wait, there's more."

I sensed that there was still a wild rabbit inside the hole, and it hadn't come out yet.

Hearing this, the little girls were even happier.

Cheng Min was a little surprised. How did Chang Kun know there were wild rabbits inside? There were no traces of them at the entrance of the hole!

Moreover, rabbits usually live in pairs, and it's rare to hear of three living in the same burrow.

Before she could figure it out, in the blink of an eye, another huge wild rabbit darted out of the hole, plunged headfirst into the sack, and struggled desperately inside.

Chang Kun was absolutely right!

Cheng Min couldn't help but glance at him. He was amazing. How did he know that?

The three little girls clapped and cheered. They knew that wild rabbits could be exchanged for lots of candy, as well as peach shortbread and mung bean cakes. Just thinking about all those delicious treats made them think that rabbits were really cute.

"Chang Kun, how did you know there were three rabbits in the cave? Shouldn't there usually only be two?" Cheng Min asked.

"These three rabbits are one male and two females. I've also seen one male and four females; that was truly spectacular."

"What are they...?"

Before Cheng Min could finish speaking, she suddenly realized what was happening, and her face turned bright red.

Pooh!

Dead rabbit!

Seeing Cheng Min's expression, Chang Kun knew that the girl had figured things out and was shy.

"Big brother, big sister, hurry up, keep catching them!"

With Chang Qing as the life of the party, there's never any awkwardness in the situation.

With his younger sisters by his side, Chang Kun didn't dare venture into the deep mountains, but instead wandered around the foot of the mountain.

Before long, the cheerful voices of the little girls rang out again from the foot of the mountain.

"Brother, it's a pheasant! Let me see it, let me see it!"

"This feather can be used to make beautiful shuttlecocks."

"Back then, Mao Erhua from the east end had a shuttlecock, but she wouldn't let me play with it. So I went home and asked my older brother to make an even prettier one, just to make her jealous!"

"Big pot, eat!"

The little girls surrounded Chang Kun, touching the pheasant's tail, their faces beaming with joy.

The pheasant I caught last time was given to my older sister, and the rest of them have been craving it for a long time.

Cheng Min was stunned.

Chang Kun was walking around casually when he suddenly stopped and told the others to be quiet. He then disappeared into the bushes and returned in less than a minute, carrying a colorful pheasant.

Looking at the pheasant in Chang Kun's hand, Cheng Min thought this person was really amazing; she hadn't even noticed the pheasant making a sound.

Cheng Min kept glancing at Chang Kun. She remembered that there were hunters in her father's research institute, but those hunters were no match for Chang Kun. They often went ten days or half a month without catching a single prey.

"Big brother, let's go hunt those greyhounds, I want to eat them."

Chang Qing shook her older brother's arm and begged him, for she couldn't forget the aroma of squirrel meat after eating it once.

"Okay, the greyhound can only be shot with a slingshot. Luckily, I brought one."

In my senses, a nest of squirrels was hopping around in a small grove of trees just a few dozen meters into the mountains.

"Xiaoqing, do you see that? The greyhound is in that tree."

Once outside the grove, Chang Kun pulled his sister aside and quietly pointed it out to her.

"Big brother, I saw it! Hurry up and hit it, or it will run away!" Chang Mu, with his sharp eyes, saw the squirrel and urged his older brother.

With a few "thuds," the squirrel landed on the ground, and the little girl happily ran over to pick it up.

Following his intuition, Chang Kun chased after the squirrels that had escaped from the trees, shooting them down in total, bringing down four squirrels.

Chang Qing and Chang Mu each held two in their hands, comparing their sizes with great excitement.

"Brother, are there still pine nuts and walnuts on the tree?"

After killing the squirrel monkey last time, Chang Kun collected a lot of pine nuts, walnuts, and peanuts. He took them home, stir-fried them, and the little girls ate them with great relish.

"Fine, fine, if you want some, go get it from me..."

Chang Kun always felt that food he made himself tasted better than what he bought.

As Chang Kun scattered pine nuts and peanuts from the tree, the little girls were overjoyed, excitedly picking them up while sweating profusely.

Cheng Min looked at Chang Kun in the tree and thought of her older brother, who used to play with her like this when they were little.

I really miss those happy times!
