"The railway boss?! Chang Kun went to the railway?"

Everyone in the supply and marketing cooperative gathered around, discussing it amongst themselves.

Even sales clerks at supply and marketing cooperatives envied the position of railway boss.

They were at the supply and marketing cooperative, only able to take advantage of their proximity to buy things.

But people on the railway can get things from other places even if they don't have them locally, especially food, which is in short supply now.

Seeing Chang Kun surrounded by people, Wang Cuiqin was full of envy. Just a month or two ago, Chang Kun was a country boy, but now he is admired by everyone. He has a good job, great skills, and most importantly, he looks handsome.

Liu Meifen had only been working in the city for a short time and didn't know the value of being a railway supervisor until she heard others talking about it.

This job is even better than being a sales clerk, one of the eight major positions.

"Xiao Kun, this is wonderful news!" One happy event after another has happened today, and she is so excited that she doesn't know what to say.

Surrounded by people praising him, Chang Kun felt a little embarrassed and quickly said, "Mom, I'm not going to work today, so I'll go home first."

"That's perfect. Take these newspapers back with you and keep them safe. I'll distribute them to the villagers tonight."

Carrying the newspapers out of the supply and marketing cooperative, Chang Kun shook his head and laughed, "Mom, with so many newspapers, if each family in the village gets one, there should still be quite a few left."

As Liu Meifen saw Chang Kun off, she said with emotion, "Our family is moving in a few days, so we won't be able to come back to the village as often. This is such a great thing, and it will make them remember us."

Chang Kun was secretly pleased. He was just trying to make people remember that he had been in the newspaper by delivering a newspaper.

If you really want someone to remember you, the best way is to borrow money...

Once you borrow money from someone, they will definitely never forget it.

Especially when you lend money to relatives and friends, it's so frustrating to ask them back! And if they refuse to pay you back, it's so infuriating!

Sigh! It's all tears when I think about it...

When I got home on my bicycle, the little girls were all in the yard, circling around the small baked buns.

Each person fed the donkey a handful of grass, and within two or three days, the little donkey became familiar with the family.

"Big brother, the big pot..."

When Chang Kun returned home, his younger sisters, regardless of Xiao Huoshao, all gathered around him.

Chang Qing and Chang Mu helped Chang Kun hold the bicycle and pushed it to the side to park it.

Xiao Shui took the two lunch boxes that Chang Kun handed over.

Xiuer let go of her little arms to let him hug her, her eyes fixed on the lunchbox, her intuition telling her that there was something delicious hidden inside.

"Big brother, I miss you so much."

The little girl has a sweet tongue and knows how to be charming; she clings to Chang Kun and won't get up.

Chang Qing and Chang Mu parked the car, their eyes fixed on the lunchbox in Xiao Shui's hand, without even asking their older brother why he was going home so early.

"Go ahead, there's good food inside, share it with your older sister."

When Chang Kun came to the little donkey, he picked up a handful of grass and continued to feed it.

Hearing that there was something delicious to eat, Xiao Xiu'er stopped relying on her older brother. After struggling for a few moments, she jumped to the ground and ran towards the main room with her short legs.

"Sister, wait for me..."

Hearing the noise, Chang Mei went into the yard: "Xiao Kun, why are you back so early?"

"Big sister, I'm off today. I've changed jobs tomorrow." Chang Kun told his older sister about going to the railway police station.

"Public security? Then you'd better be careful." Chang Mei had no concept of the Iron Boss at all; she just felt a bit dangerous when she heard the word "public security."

"Hey, big sister, I'll run if I'm in danger," Chang Kun joked.

"You can't just say that carelessly; keep it to yourself!"

Before they could finish speaking, Chang Qing ran out of the house: "Big sister, eat this! It smells amazing!"

Holding a squid in her hand, she held it to her older sister's mouth: "Eat up, eat up!"

There was no way around it; whenever there was something delicious, if I didn't share it with my parents and older sister, my older brother wouldn't let me eat it first.

Chang Mei took the squid, took a bite, and her eyes lit up: "Xiao Kun, where did this come from? It tastes really good!"

"It was a gift from a friend; it's something from the sea."

The other girls didn't care what it was, as long as it tasted good.

Each person held one, one hand supporting their chin to catch the dripping juice, and licked it with their tongue.

Among the girls, Chang Qing was the oldest. She finished a squid in seven or eight bites and then went to get more from her lunchbox.

"Big pot, Xiao Qing, take more!" Xiu'er hadn't even finished half of the squid in her hand when she saw Chang Qing taking more, so she hurriedly went to complain to her older brother.

Chang Qing turned around and glared at her: "Who was calling you 'good sister' yesterday? Now you're tattling on me!"

"Alright, alright, two for each of you. Big brother has some left for Mom and Dad." Patting Xiu'er's hair, Chang Kun quickly stopped her from continuing to complain.

If she keeps talking like this, Chang Qing will spank Xiu'er when he's not home.

Seeing Xiao Shui enjoying her food, Chang Kun smiled and asked, "Is it delicious?"

With a piece of squid in her mouth, Xiao Shui nodded repeatedly, "Thank you, big brother!"

After a few days at home, this girl has become less reserved and has learned from the other girls to say "Thank you, big brother" all the time.

"Alright, everyone, hurry up and eat. After you finish eating, you'll have to practice the new words from memory." Chang Kun instructed them. He had only given them beggar's chicken the past two days, and they hadn't even had time to practice the new words from memory yet.

"Okay!" The girls nodded in unison. After studying hard for a few days, they were all confident.

After each of them finished two squids, they licked their lips, looking like they wanted more.

"Big brother, you're so kind." The group leaned on Chang Kun. His older brother gave him good food every day, while the older brothers in other families in the village would only steal food from their younger siblings.

"Of course, big brother is great. You guys are good at memorizing the new words, so I'll fold paper guns for you to play with."

"Oh! That's great!" The little girls jumped up and down in cheers. The day before yesterday, their eldest brother folded a paper gun for Xiu'er, but Xiu'er hid it and wouldn't let them play with it, which made them very envious.

After lying on the kang (a heated brick bed) and reciting the new words from memory, Chang Kun checked them. Although the characters were ugly and the strokes were crooked and messy, they were still correct.

"Alright, you've passed. Big brother will help you fold the paper guns." Chang Kun tore off the paper covered with writing and taught the little girls how to fold it piece by piece.

Their eyes sparkled as they looked at the few sheets of paper, which they turned over and over until they became paper guns, and they cheered in unison.

"Big brother is amazing!" Chang Qing snatched the first paper gun, held it in his hand, squinted, and fired at Xiu'er, "You have a gun, and I have one too. Let's see who's better!"

Xiao Xiu'er slid down the kang (a heated brick bed) with her two short legs and ran into the yard. After a while, she came back with a paper gun and fired at Chang Qing.

"Hey, Xiuer, where did you hide the paper gun?" Chang Kun was a little surprised. It was strange that Xiuer had hidden something without her older sisters finding it.

If it were her older sisters asking, Xiu'er wouldn't pay any attention; but it's a different story when her eldest brother asks.

"The big pot is hiding in Little White's nest."

"In Little White's nest?" Chang Kun leaned closer and sniffed. Sure enough, the paper gun smelled of stinky goose droppings!

"It stinks! Throw it away right now, I'll fold another one for you..."

This goose at home just eats grass but doesn't lay eggs, and it makes the shed smell terrible. I'll slaughter it sooner or later!
