The two walked side by side on the asphalt road of Yuecheng. He Ziyu stared at his toes, his mind filled with thoughts of how to sincerely and subtly confess his feelings to Jiang Chengyu.

After all, he had been pursuing Lan Yuan for so long. Suddenly changing his target after just one summer vacation would seem a bit rash, and Jiang Chengyu might not believe what he said.

He Ziyu was so engrossed in his thoughts that he subconsciously followed Jiang Chengyu when crossing the street, as if he felt at ease wherever he went, as long as Jiang Chengyu was there.

Suddenly, a black sedan came from the right, and the driver honked the horn twice, emitting a piercing sound.

He Ziyu was startled. In a daze, he felt his wrist being grabbed. Then, propelled by inertia, he staggered forward a few steps and crashed into a firm and warm embrace.

At the same time, a car whizzed past.

Jiang Chengyu was walking quietly on the right when she heard the horn and was about to quicken her pace when she saw out of the corner of her eye that He Ziyu was deep in thought and not looking at the road at all. Startled, she quickly pulled him into her arms.

"Ayu, you can't be distracted when crossing the street, you know?" Jiang Chengyu wanted to scold him but couldn't bear to, and the words that came out of his mouth turned into an ambiguous question.

He Ziyu steadied himself with lingering fear. When his thoughts returned, he found that his hands were wrapped around Jiang Chengyu's waist, and the two bodies were pressed tightly together, completely sealed.

Jiang Chengyu also noticed this detail.

His body stiffened slightly, and he held his breath. Even though he tried to remain calm, his burning ears betrayed the little thrill hidden in his heart.

Jiang Chengyu's habit of turning red with nervousness is a "little secret" he has always found difficult to talk about. After all, as a boy, blushing and having a racing heart all the time would seem unmanly.

However, He Ziyu did not think so.

When He Ziyu's gaze fell on Jiang Chengyu's flushed ears, he found it quite adorable. So he smiled and asked knowingly, "Brother Yu, why are your ears so red? Are you shy?"

The moment the words left her mouth, Jiang Chengyu blushed, and it wasn't just her ears that were red.

Fearing something might happen if things continued like this, he quickly grabbed He Ziyu's hand that was wrapped around his waist and pressed it down quietly.

"Ayu, didn't you say you were going to take me somewhere? Where is it?"

Why did you have to ask now of all times?

He Ziyu knew what Jiang Chengyu was thinking, so he didn't expose him. He deliberately kept Jiang Chengyu in suspense, telling him that he would know in a little while.

……

Based on his memory, He Ziyu led Jiang Chengyu to a well-landscaped park south of the No. 8 Middle School.

The park covers a large area, and there is a basketball court inside. When Lan Yuan and his friends can't get a court, they often come here to play basketball.

He Ziyu remembered that in his previous life, he often dragged Jing Ran over to watch, and he even fawned over Lan Yuan and his cronies by buying them water and popsicles. Now that he thinks about it, he was incredibly stupid back then.

Upon arriving at the park entrance, Jiang Chengyu's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, and he asked with a hint of disappointment, "This is the place you wanted to bring me?"

He liked He Ziyu so much and knew everything about him, how could he not know that he often came here to watch Lan Yuan play basketball?

Could it be that he came here today also for...?

"The scenery here is beautiful, and there's even an artificial lake. It's perfect for an after-dinner stroll." He Ziyu grabbed Jiang Chengyu's hand without further ado. "Come on, Brother Yu, come with me for a walk."

When Jiang Chengyu's palm touched He Ziyu's soft fingers, he felt a tingling sensation in his heart, as if he had been electrocuted.
