Chapter 332 Comrade Ding Jiahe, it is an honor to work with you.
Inside the clothing store, Ye Wenxi, Zhang Yunxia, and Ding Jiahe gathered together.
"Whose husband or son could use this?" Ye Wenxi asked, resting her chin on her hand.
"How about Company Commander Wang, Xiao Liu's wife?" Zhang Yunxia suggested.
Ye Wenxi covered her mouth, leaned closer, and lowered her voice: "A little short."
"How's Dr. Feng from the health center?" Ding Jiahe leaned over and whispered.
"Handsome? How does he compare to Wang Hao?" Ye Wenxi asked directly.
Ding Jiahe straightened up and thought for a moment: "Then Wang Haoshuai is definitely not among them."
Ye Wenxi: "..."
She asked a bit too much. In Ding Jiahe's eyes, Lu Weidong wasn't as handsome as Wang Hao.
"There are definitely people in the performing arts troupe, but I don't know them very well. I occasionally see them and greet them, but they're all female performers." Ding Jiahe scratched her head. "Sister Yunxia, do you know any?"
Just as he finished speaking, the phone on Ye Wenxi's desk rang.
"Feed? Hello."
Ye Wenxi rolled her eyes. Ding Jiahe and Zhang Yunxia exchanged a glance, guessing that it was Lu Weidong calling.
Ye Wenxi's eyes suddenly lit up after hearing what was said on the other end of the phone.
"When?.........Okay, I understand."
Ye Wenxi finally couldn't help but smile, and before hanging up, she whispered, "Thank you."
"Smack."
She hung up the phone, turned around with a big smile, and said, "Let's go! To the cultural troupe! Lu Weidong has spoken to Director Wu and asked us to go over and select people."
"Oh my, it's all thanks to Weidong! I told you he couldn't just abandon you." Zhang Yunxia clapped her hands with joy.
"Well, Lu Weidong's performance this time can be considered redemption," Ding Jiahe teased with a smile.
The three of them hopped on their bicycles and hurried towards the performing arts troupe.
The cultural troupe's rehearsal hall was a large room with a polished floor and a banner on the wall that read, "Train hard to become elite soldiers, serve the soldiers." Even before entering, you could hear someone inside chanting a rhythm—"One, two, three, four; two, two, three, four—"
Ye Wenxi pushed open the door, and a wave of heat rushed out. Inside the rehearsal hall, a dozen or so male soldiers were practicing, all dressed in green military trousers and white shirts, their backs ramrod straight.
Some people were stretching their legs, some were walking the runway, and a few were gathered together rehearsing their lines, their voices loud and clear.
Ye Wenxi and the other two stood at the door for a while, watching intently, when a member of the cultural troupe ran over, sweat still dripping from his forehead.
"Comrades, who are you looking for?"
"Hello comrade, my name is Ye Wenxi. We're here to see Commander Wu; we had an appointment."
"Come with me."
The performing arts soldiers led them through the corridor and stopped in front of an office, knocking on the door.
"Come in." A voice came from inside the office.
Regiment Commander Wu was in his early forties, tall and straight, and wearing a brand-new military uniform.
"Comrade Ye? Please come in and sit down. Let's sit down and talk."
He ushered the group into his office, then went around to the back of his desk and sat down, placing his hands folded on the table.
"Weidong has given me a general overview of your needs, but I'd like to hear your detailed explanation."
Ye Wenxi felt quite embarrassed. She was already very grateful that Lu Weidong had helped her find connections in the performing arts troupe, so she had no right to make so many requests here.
So after exchanging a few polite words, he said that it would be fine as long as it was good enough, and that any of the comrades from the cultural troupe would be suitable.
"It's alright, go ahead and tell me. Our job is to provide service. The more detailed your questions are, the better we'll cooperate," Commander Wu smiled.
Ye Wenxi briefly explained her requirements: a height of around 1.8 meters, a well-proportioned figure, and good-looking features; the photoshoot would take half a day to a day. She then added, "We'll send you a set of new spring clothes as a thank-you gift."
Commander Wu waved his hand: "Thanks are nothing. The cultural troupe also has a role to play in supporting military families and local development."
He smiled and stood up: "Come on, I'll take you to see the person."
Commander Wu is a straightforward person, mainly because of Lu Weidong's influence.
The two had some personal acquaintance. Every year, ordinary soldiers and art troupe members would have a joint performance. As the "top star" of the military region, Lu Weidong was invited several times. Although he was unsurprisingly rejected each time, the two became acquainted.
Under his guidance, the group arrived at the training ground for the male cultural troupe members.
"Comrade Ye, most of these are our male soldiers. See if there are any who meet your requirements." Regiment Commander Wu stood at the edge of the field and spread his hands.
When the cultural troupe members saw their commander arrive, they all stopped what they were doing, stood at attention in unison, and focused their gazes on him.
"This is Comrade Ye Wenxi from Wenxi Garment Company. She wants to find a male comrade to cooperate with her for a promotional photo shoot today. You guys continue rehearsing." Commander Wu waved his hand.
He then turned to Ye Wenxi and said, "Comrade Ye, tell me which one you've chosen, and I'll work on them and give them my full cooperation."
Ye Wenxi was particularly embarrassed: "How could I accept this... Commander Wu, you can choose whoever you like. All the comrades in our cultural troupe meet the requirements."
What she said wasn't untrue. The male soldiers in the cultural troupe, especially the dancers, were all outstanding in height, physique, and temperament; any one of them standing on the street would turn heads. She couldn't very well be picking and choosing here.
But Ding Jiahe and Zhang Yunxia have already made their choices.
"Hey, I think this one's good. He looks energetic." Zhang Yunxia pointed to a spot in the crowd.
"I think that one's good, the lead dancer, he's got style." Ding Jiahe pointed at the lead dancer, her eyes lighting up.
She turned to look at Ye Wenxi: "Wenxi, what do you think? Is the lead dancer suitable?"
"The lead dancer is quite good!" Zhang Yunxia nodded in agreement.
Ye Wenxi carefully observed the male soldier leading the dance. He was over 1.8 meters tall, standing there like a straight poplar tree. His features were well-defined, with high, prominent brow bones and a strong, straight nose—a photogenic face. Indeed, quite handsome.
Commander Wu stood to the side with his hands behind his back, and he could tell that they were interested in Qin Tianyu.
"This is Qin Tianyu, the star performer of our performing arts troupe." He smiled and called out, "Tianyu, come here for a second."
Qin Tianyu ran over quickly, saluted the regimental commander, and nodded and greeted the female comrades.
Ye Wenxi briefly explained the situation and her needs. Qin Tianyu was taken aback. Taking promotional photos, posting them in department stores, and possibly even appearing in brochures—that's practically like being in a magazine.
However, those of them who work in the arts are quite accepting of these things.
"It won't take too long, about a day. After our other comrade recovers, we won't need to trouble you anymore. As a token of our gratitude, we can give you a set of the latest men's clothing; you can choose one yourself." Ye Wenxi paused. "Comrade Qin, is that alright?"
Qin Tianyu glanced at Commander Wu. Commander Wu nodded.
"I'm willing to support it."
"That's great. Would it be alright if you came to Wenxi Garment Shop at 9 a.m. tomorrow?"
"Okay!" Qin Tianyu replied readily.
"This is Ding Jiahe, the other female model we're taking photos of. You two might have some work together tomorrow," Ye Wenxi said, pointing to Ding Jiahe.
"Ding Jiahe? You are Ding Jiahe?" Qin Tianyu asked in surprise.
He had heard of this combat hero returning from the front lines, but he never expected that this outstanding female military doctor would be so youthful and beautiful. Qin Tianyu saluted Ding Jiahe.
"Comrade Ding Jiahe, it is an honor to work with you."
