Chapter 41 Testing

Everyone enjoyed the dinner harmoniously.

An Jincheng's cooking skills are excellent. Her dishes are delicious, fragrant, and visually appealing, and they taste even better.

The clatter of bowls and chopsticks mingled with laughter; the four of them were enjoying themselves as a family.

"How about we get something to drink?" Natsumi suggested amidst the lively atmosphere; she had already deactivated her transformation.

"...You can't drink alcohol." Tang Feng, fulfilling his duty as a senior employee, reminded the girls.

"The only one here... is Xiao Ju. I recently turned 18," An Jincheng smiled. "But we don't have any alcohol at home. How about some soft drinks?"

After pouring the drinks, the four people clinked their glasses together.

"Cheers!"

An Jincheng raised her glass gently like an adult, "Thank you, teacher, for taking care of Jinju, and thank you for your contributions to this city."

"What contribution have I made?" Tang Feng raised his glass, looking puzzled.

"You've produced two magical girls in your class, isn't that a huge contribution to Binhai City?"

"I didn't do anything; it was all thanks to their own hard work."

Tang Feng held the cup and drank it all in one gulp.

He poured another glass. "I also want to thank you magical girls for all the sacrifices you've made to maintain the harmony and stability of the city. I sincerely love every magical girl."

"You're such a womanizer," Xia Mei muttered from the side. She watched Tang Feng down another glass in one gulp and yelled, "This isn't alcohol! How can you drink like that? Leave me some! My happy water!"

"I'll have Jin Cheng buy it for you later." Tang Feng ignored her.

"She doesn't even pay rent for living here. We're already being lenient by not kicking her out, yet she still has so many demands," An Jincheng said with a smile.

Amidst the joking conversation, An Jincheng turned to her somewhat silent younger sister, "Why aren't you toasting your teacher?"

An Jinju's lips twitched. She paused for a moment, then brought her somewhat stiff expression to life.

"Tang Feng".

She gently raised her glass, a radiant blush rising on her cheeks. Her beautiful eyes were crystal clear, sparkling like stars, as if they were about to overflow with tears.

"I like you. Let's get married after I graduate."

The lively atmosphere suddenly quieted down.

Soon after, the rhythmic dripping of water broke the silence.

Tap, tap, tap...

"Oh, I'm sorry."

An Jincheng snapped out of her daze and quickly grabbed a tissue to wipe up the spilled drink.

Xia Mei didn't say anything. She held her cola and slowly savored it, but her attention was focused on this side.

She didn't care about such family dramas; on the contrary, she found them quite interesting.

At the same time, she wondered in her heart whether Tang Feng might be a scumbag. After all, this man's appearance was so attractive that countless beautiful young girls would throw themselves into his arms if he wanted to.

Everyone was waiting for Tang Feng's answer.

A faint smile appeared on Tang Feng's lips as he raised the glass in his hand. "Your main task right now is to study. We can talk about these things when you're older."

This answer fits the character he plays. His gentle nature prevents him from refusing, while his strong moral principles prevent him from agreeing. If this were a youth-themed work, he would become a cinnabar mark in the female lead's heart, slowly fading away as she grows up, leaves, and is only occasionally brought back to her, bringing with it a touch of regret and melancholy.

At least that's how it appears from an outsider's perspective.

"Xiao Ju, Tang Feng is right. Listen to him this once, okay?" An Jincheng advised from the side with mixed feelings.

Perhaps she won't be so stubborn when her younger sister grows up.

"I will always wait for you."

After saying this standard line from a youth novel, An Jinju downed her drink in one gulp.

In return, Tang Feng also drank the beverage in his hand.

And so, their time acting in the youth romance drama came to an end, and the male and female leads, whose performances were both top-notch, parted ways.

Shortly after Tang Feng left, Xia Mei and An Jincheng also set off.

Where are you going?

An Jinju couldn't help but ask.

"You should stay home and reflect on your actions."

An Jincheng looked a little angry and slammed the door shut behind her.

.

It was already dark by then.

A crescent moon hung high in the sky, radiating a soft, silvery-white halo.

The city's streetlights are neat and bright, dispelling any unease that the night might bring.

Tang Feng walked along this road. There were few pedestrians and the environment was quiet. Only the roadside trees on both sides occasionally rustled in the wind.

As they approached a tall building, no one noticed that on a windowsill a dozen or so stories high, an inconspicuous flowerpot was swaying precariously in the night wind.

Finally, the flowerpot fell from the windowsill.

It pointed directly at Tang Feng, who was walking past below.

After accelerating at a height of more than ten stories, even the smallest pebble can end the life of an ordinary person.

Not to mention it's full of flowerpots.

It can instantly turn a person's head into mush.

The flowerpot fell silently, and within seconds it was almost touching Tang Feng's head.

Tang Feng was completely unaware of this and continued walking forward.

Just before his head was about to explode, the flowerpot stopped in mid-air.

Tang Feng left without pausing for a moment.

Only the eerie flowerpot remained silently suspended in the air.

After a while, it slowly rose, seemingly preparing to return to its previous location.

If someone looks closely, they will find that the flowerpot is wrapped with rings of dark blue silk threads, which blend perfectly into the night. It is impossible to see unless you look closely up close.

Several silk threads also hovered above, carrying the flowerpot back to the original windowsill on the 10th floor.

Two figures, one green and one orange, appeared on a roadside tree not far away.

"I already told you he's just an ordinary person," the girl in orange complained softly.

Fengye subconsciously adjusted her black-rimmed glasses, then slowly withdrew her hand after remembering that she didn't wear glasses in her magical girl form.

"But our investigation has reached a dead end. We've been investigating for so long, and we haven't found a single clue."

"But you can't just randomly pick someone to suspect, can you?"

"But don't you think he's a bit suspicious? Like you said, he was present at both of the accidental deaths of the calamity beasts."

"But didn't I already say it was just a coincidence? Leaving aside Jinju's incident, just look at my incident. I didn't see him make any unnecessary movements at the time, not even a magical fluctuation. No matter what, there's no way he could kill a calamity beast in front of an A-rank magical girl without being noticed, right?"

Jin Cheng took a breath and continued, "Besides, you already had contact with him at home, didn't you already dispel your doubts? Why do you still need to test him?"

Fengye smiled awkwardly, "Although I don't doubt it anymore, since he's here, he should at least finish what he prepared beforehand. Anyway, there's nothing to lose."

"He would be very upset if he knew we suspected him like this."

"Don't worry, he won't know."

As Fengye was speaking, she was preparing to return the way she came with Jincheng when her phone rang.

She took out her phone and paused slightly.

Jin Cheng was curious, so she leaned closer and saw the contents of the phone.

It was sent by Shui Lan.

[We've found a clue about Liuhuang; come quickly to discuss it.]

The location is attached below.

The two magical girls exchanged a glance, said nothing, and each transformed into a streak of light, heading straight for their destination.

"Where's Jinju? Aren't we going to tell her to come?"

"It's not like we're fighting a war. We can go on our own. We don't need to wait for her."

"Then I'll send her a message."

As Jin Cheng spoke, she took out her phone and typed a message.

I'm going out to run some errands and will be back late. Don't wait for me, and remember to wash the dishes.

Meanwhile, on the other side, An Jinju received this message.

She sighed and got up from the sofa to wash the dishes.

"What's there to sigh about, little tangerine?"

A familiar voice rang out, and upon hearing it, An Jinju froze. She slowly turned her head to look at the source of the voice.

The living room window was wide open. Tang Feng was sitting on the window frame with his arms crossed behind his head, his head tilted back at a 45-degree angle, looking at her with a relaxed expression.

"What did you do to them?"

An Jinju immediately questioned him.

It's no wonder she was suspicious, because no sooner had Tang Feng left than Jin Cheng and Feng Ye followed him out, and now that Tang Feng was back, the two of them hadn't returned. It was hard to believe that there wasn't some connection between them.

As for that message, it's very likely that Tang Feng sent it using his sister's phone.

Hearing An Jinju's question, Tang Feng smiled, jumped down from the window, and came into the living room.

"Your doubts hurt me deeply. Am I really so untrustworthy?"

Tang Feng said with a regretful tone, "She just swore she would marry me, but now she's changed her mind. Women, they really are fickle."

An Jinju didn't say much. The next moment, an orange outfit covered her entire body.

"You know it's pointless to do this, so why do you still transform?"

Tang Feng stuck out his tongue and slowly licked his fingers. Suddenly, his eyes lit up. "I understand. You know I like this shape, so you're making it even more exciting for me. How thoughtful of you."

"I just want to know if you did anything to either of them."

Jinju was adamant. If the strange man crossed her bottom line, she would certainly not continue to willingly be his little slave. Their relationship was only maintained on the surface.

Tang Feng didn't pay much attention to Jin Ju's serious expression. He simply lay down on the sofa and casually spoke.

"I didn't do anything, but they almost killed me with flowerpots."

"Why didn't the two of them come back?"

"They're off on business, is that so strange? They were in such a hurry, maybe they've made a big discovery."

Jinju didn't completely believe it. She stared at Tang Feng warily and dialed her sister's number.

"Hey, Little Orange, what's up?"

Jinju paused for a moment, then said, "Oh, no, nothing. Where did you guys go?"

"There's a lead that might be related to Liuhuang. Fengye and I went to investigate, and we're on our way now."

"Why didn't you call me?"

"You're too slow." A teasing voice seemed to come from the phone. "Remember to wash the dishes."

Jinju hung up the phone somewhat blankly.

Tang Feng wasn't lying; she had misunderstood the other person again, and she could tell that the other person was clearly displeased.

Jinju took a deep breath and quickly put on a fawning smile. She leaned close to Tang Feng and gently placed one of his hands on her chest. "Master, I'm sorry, I was wrong this time. Please punish me."

"This is a small matter." Tang Feng withdrew his hand, pinched the girl's cheek, and dragged her in front of him.

"You drove Jincheng away from me. She almost became my girlfriend, but you ruined it."

Tang Feng's voice turned dangerous, "I remember I told you, don't try to interfere, or the consequences will only be more serious."

Jinju fell silent. Of course, she knew the consequences would be even more serious. After what happened with Shengxue last time, he had made a move on Jincheng, causing her to willingly become his little slave girl again.

She had promised not to interfere anymore, but the thought of her sister gradually heading towards the abyss made her unable to resist wanting to stop her.

Last time, he was in a good mood and let her off the hook. This time, she has completely angered him, and she needs to pay the price to appease his anger.

If it's just sprinkled on her head, that's fine, but what if it's like last time, and she uses it on her older sister and the others...?

Jinju dared not think any further.

She threw herself into Tang Feng's arms and hugged his waist tightly.

"I was wrong. You can punish me however you want. Calm down, okay? I can be your girlfriend too. Whatever role you want, whatever tricks you want to play, I can do it."

Jinju lifted her head from his chest, stared at him intently, and spoke earnestly.

"I can do what they can't. In front of them, you still have to pretend to be a gentleman, right? But with me... you can ruin me, play with me as you please, without worrying about this false shell, and unleash your true nature."

She paused for a moment, then finally spoke, "So, can you let them go? I'll stay with you, no matter how twisted it is, I can accept it."

"That sounds kind of tempting," Tang Feng mused, stroking his chin.

"Right?" Jinju quickly pressed on, "Even if there are some tricks I might not be able to accept at first, as long as you give me enough time, believe me, I can definitely do it."

To prove her point, Jinju took the initiative to unzip Tang Feng's jacket, freeing him, and then slowly opened her lips.

Feeling the soft moisture, Tang Feng narrowed his eyes slightly, his emotions quickly swelling.

It's clear she's been trying. I found her behavior somewhat unacceptable before, but this time she took the initiative, which is great.

He stroked the girl's soft hair, gesturing for her to get up.

Jinju looked up with a puzzled expression.

"Your sister won't be back for a while, so don't worry, tonight is going to be a long night."

Tang Feng picked the girl up in his arms and, facing the three bedrooms, quickly followed the scent to Jinju's room.

It was no different from any other girl's room; it was clean and tidy, with a faint fragrance that belonged only to the room's owner.

Tang Feng tossed Jinju onto the bed, locked the door, and then slowly walked to the bedside, looking down at the girl lying on the bed.

Jinju slowly closed her eyes. She was now fully prepared, knowing that the night would be incredibly long.
