Chapter 90 Legal Firearms
Chapter 90 Legal Firearms
Sig then pulled a Luger LCP pistol out of his bag.
There were also some loose gun parts in plastic bags, of various sizes, scattered about, enough to assemble five or six pistols.
The Gru LCP has a compact, short, black body, about the size of a palm, and a magazine that holds 6 rounds, making it suitable for carrying in a waist pack or holster.
The other friends also tried it out. At first, they found it a bit novel, but they quickly lost interest and realized it was just a tool in their hands.
After all, they've had the opportunity to handle guns since childhood; it's quite common. If the general environment didn't prohibit it, not many people would be willing to buy guns. Apart from gun enthusiasts, many others aren't particularly interested.
Jennifer, however, was very interested in this and wanted to keep a gun on her person for self-defense, so she asked Sieg if he would sell her one.
Although Sieg wasn't exactly a straight man, he was a real closet pervert who couldn't express himself well and simply rejected her outright.
"You don't have a legal gun license. Giving you a gun would be disastrous! These guns are only for home protection. Using them in the camp would definitely get you questioned by the police. This is an open area, not our own home."
"Aren't the officers on our side?" Jennifer asked. "You and Dominic helped that officer named Miguel. Without you, he would be dead by now. Doesn't he have anything to offer in return? Like, give us any special treatment or something?"
"Miguel is still hospitalized and recovering. We're helping him only because he's a responsible and good police officer; we're not asking for much special treatment. Even if we were granted special privileges, we wouldn't be allowed to fire in the city. That would definitely be classified as gang-related! We'd be given special treatment," Sig explained.
"Then I should be able to use it in the RV, right? At least that's private space," Jennifer said.
Sieg then noticed the green RV and exclaimed in surprise, "Perhaps it's possible. It should be legal and compliant to fire a gun in self-defense from inside an RV, but we'll need a reliable lawyer to testify for us in court after an accident."
"That's it, we're doomed." Everyone instantly felt hopeless after hearing this. "We don't know any decent or reliable lawyers at all."
"Isn't Dave a lawyer?" Sieg asked hesitantly.
"If you also want to go to jail, you can hire him as your lawyer." The group shook their heads, expressing their fear of Mr. Dave Snake's professionalism.
Zhang Ailun took the short, stubby LCP, weighed it in his hand, removed the magazine, and found it was already fully loaded. All that was laid out before him were real weapons; there were several boxes of ammunition for both pistols and submachine guns.
"Did you get all these things from your friend? It must have cost a lot of money, right?" Zhang Ailun checked the backpack again and found a lot of security equipment inside, including tactical headsets and walkie-talkies.
"Actually, it didn't cost much. My budget was limited. I originally wanted to buy an assembled rifle, but then I thought better of it because the price was too high. These are all assembled second-hand firearms. There are many shops on the market that specialize in selling obsolete second-hand parts. My friend knows some distributors who specialize in modifying and selling firearms and registering their serial numbers."
Sieg explained, "Like this Ruger LCP in your hand, the retail price at gun stores is around $250. If you buy it privately through my friend, you can get it for only $50! It's even cheaper if you only buy the parts. The expensive part is the serial number; without a serial number, it's illegal. But I don't recommend ordinary people buy through this channel because many parts are second-hand, and if you don't know how to assemble a gun, it's easy to run into problems with maintenance."
There are three types of guns on the market: guns with serial numbers, unnumbered black guns, and battle-damaged guns that have been phased out and need to be deregistered.
However, the serial numbers of retired guns can be resold, just like license plates. When registered on assembled firearms, they become legal and compliant shell guns, and the transaction process can be found online.
With such a legal, compliant, and profitable industry chain, it's difficult to find a genuine unnumbered gun; even the serial numbers need to be manually polished.
Unserious guns are expensive and illegal. Second-hand, assembled, and modified guns are legal and cheap, but the quality is poor.
There's no need to worry about Sieg; he's a professional, capable of disassembling and reassembling firearms even with his eyes closed, and is proficient in all kinds of firearm repair and maintenance.
Even if you buy battle-damaged weapons and parts, you can assemble them yourself, or even make minor adjustments and modifications to the weapons.
"These are all obsolete security equipment. Some people with CCW credentials had accidents while on duty, or they quit. So they would find someone to sell these second-hand equipment. I inherited this set of equipment from my friend for only a little over three hundred dollars."
"My favorite is this bulletproof vest. A friend of a friend accidentally injured a black man while doing security work. He was then accused of racial discrimination, and the matter escalated. He was complained about and his license was revoked. He had no choice but to quit the job. I practically gave it away for free."
Sig took out a bulletproof vest from his backpack, beaming with satisfaction.
These things are not easy to obtain. You can buy firearms through various channels, but defensive equipment is even harder to get your hands on than firearms, and it is generally impossible for ordinary people to possess it.
People with CCW credentials can apply for jobs similar to security guards and bodyguards. First, they need a residential address, tax returns, and expense reports. The hourly wage is generally over $40, and the work is relatively easy, mostly involving maintaining order at events or during celebrity concerts. If working as a security guard in hotels and shops in affluent areas like Beverly Hills, the hourly wage is over $90.
As a temporary worker, you don't need to actually get into a conflict with criminals. If something happens, your first priority should be your own safety. Call 911 to report it, and only then should you look after the safety of your employer and the facilities.
Employee? If the employee is gone, just find another one.
The hourly wage might even be higher.
Being fired is better than being eliminated from the game by reality.
If you shoot and kill someone, the responsibility still falls on you, not your employer. You often see people in the media blaming and complaining that security personnel are useless, but do they even consider that I would actually risk my life for them for just a few hundred dollars? Even if you were a bodyguard for the president, it wouldn't be worth hundreds of thousands a year!
You can just slack off on your job and that's it. Security work is just for show anyway. If you do all the work, what's the point of having the police and the FBI?
Although Zhang Ailun was very envious and wanted a real gun for himself, he couldn't do anything about it. He didn't have the necessary permits and couldn't afford to be charged with illegal possession of a firearm. If he were reported or caught by the police during a random check, he would face a lifetime in jail. In the worst-case scenario, he would be riddled with bullets.
I can only hope that my documents will be processed quickly!
I took out my phone and asked the fake document vendor: Does the family bucket contain CCW documents?
Fake document dealers: Not included. They may have a legal gun purchase license, but no security or gun possession permit. If you want to obtain these documents, it will cost an additional $400, and we can help you with that.
It has to be you guys!
Anything can be done as long as you pay.
