Chapter 22 Rich Area

Just this one sentence.

Zhang Ailun was left to wait foolishly at the crossroads for an hour and sixteen minutes in the cold wind.

Holding his phone and staring at the string of unanswered calls, Zhang Ailun dialed until his fingers went numb.

"Damn it!! Doesn't this foreigner know any manners?"

Zhang Ailun was very angry.

Who stands someone up like that?

I feel like I've been played. It wouldn't be right to ask for less than $200 in compensation for this!

Another call went unanswered.

Zhang Ailun didn't want to waste any more time waiting, so he took out the other person's wallet and threw it into the trash can before turning around and leaving.

As luck would have it, before I'd gone more than a few steps, a black Cadillac with local license plates came from the intersection behind me, its lights illuminating the road.

The vehicle then followed closely behind Zhang Ailun, driving slowly and honking its horn.

Zhang Ailun glanced back at the license plate number and felt a chill run down his spine, but he could only pretend not to see it.

Unfortunately, he was the only person on the street at the moment, and the other party clearly knew what his physical characteristics were.

The female driver rolled down her window, glanced at him, and asked curiously, "Mr. Humbert Juan King?"

"it's me."

Zhang Ailun stopped helplessly.

I glanced at it with a puzzled look. Why does he look different from the photo on his ID?

What kind of family background do they have that they have a professional female driver?

"Please get in the car."

The female driver parked her car on the side of the road.

"..."

Zhang Ailun glanced at the trash can. "Not yet."

"Why?"

The female driver was somewhat surprised.

"Because you made me wait too long, I lost my patience and threw my wallet away!"

Zhang Ailun said frankly, "You can take your wallet yourself. I'm going home now. If you really want to thank me, just give me $200 for a taxi."

The female driver fell silent.

"$100 is fine too!"

Seeing this, Zhang Ailun decisively backed down.

"Your wallet was thrown away, why don't you just go and pick it up?" the female driver gently suggested.

Zhang Ailun also fell silent.

That makes sense.

We've waited this long, wouldn't it be a waste to give up halfway?

……

Zhang Ailun got into the Cadillac and immediately smelled a strong perfume scent.

He glanced at the luxurious interior, but before he could even ask a question, a pair of hands reached out from behind and wrapped around his neck, accompanied by a strong smell of alcohol.

Zhang Ailun tensed up, immediately straightened his body, and grabbed his arm with his backhand.

He relaxed slightly when he turned around and saw a blonde woman approaching.

"Are you Ms. Catherine Jon?"

Zhang Ailun discovered that the other person looked even younger than in their ID photo.

"It's me, thank you, Mr. Kim."

The woman seemed slightly disoriented. "I'm sorry to have kept you waiting so long. My phone was stolen at the bar. I didn't memorize your number, and I couldn't borrow someone else's phone to call you."

"You are welcome."

Zhang Ailun took out his wallet and handed it to her.

You just found your wallet, and now you've lost your phone? You're really something else.

Catherine took the wallet and glanced at it, finding that her identification was intact, but the money inside was gone.

Zhang Ailun immediately explained, "It was like this when I found it."

"I didn't doubt you. I can tell you're an honest person," Catherine said, her voice slurred with drunkenness. She then leaned back and sat up again.

Then why don't you hurry up and give me my payment?

What are you thinking about?

Zhang Ailun was so frustrated he was shaking his leg when he heard Catherine say, "Would you mind coming to my place for a bit, Hamburg?"

"Of course, I'm fine too."

After Zhang Ailun finished speaking, he noticed that the vehicle had already restarted and was driving on the road, giving him no chance to get off midway.

He was drunk and took me home in the middle of the night... So? This was part of the payment?

Holy crap! That's exciting!

Zhang Ailun looked at the female driver and asked, "Where are we going now?"

"Corona Crown District, please fasten your seatbelt, sir." The female driver spoke concisely, focusing on driving and showing little interest in conversation.

Zhang Ailun didn't want to make a fool of himself, so he turned around and fastened his seatbelt.

He took out his phone and sent Dominic a short message.

Zhang Ailun: I probably won't be going back today.

Dominic: Why? Where do you live?

Zhang Ailun: It could be in the Crown District of Corona. It could be in a car, on the street, who knows.

Dominic: Corona Crown? That's a rich neighborhood! Dude, you got arrested? What did you do??

Zhang Ailun: Calm down, I just met a new friend. (Aba aba...)

Dominic: Oh shit! You really should have explained yourself. You almost scared me.

Zhang Ailun: Please wish me a wonderful night.

:)

Send a smiley face to show friendliness.

Dominic: Of course! Dude! Remember to take precautions! Don't get yourself into trouble.

Zhang Ailun: I should be fine. I don't really like barriers between people.

Dominic: ...Then good luck.

As night fell, the vehicle drove away from the poor street. The scenery outside the window was captivating, with neon lights flashing and cars bustling about.

This was the first time Zhang Ailun had ever taken a car ride to enjoy the night view of the West Coast.

In the past, he would just drive his Karin Skull Horse, Vigilante, and Mark II around, causing chaos, bombing, robbing Armed Nation and Maze Bank, and outsmarting the Los Angeles police.

That won't work now.

Firstly, the conditions weren't right, and secondly, doing so could actually kill people.

After driving for about twenty minutes, the traffic began to decrease, and we entered an uphill section of road without lights. At the end of the road, there was only an arrow indicator sign placed on the wall.

The winding, narrow roads are terrifying to look at, and anyone with poor driving skills wouldn't dare drive on them.

At every intersection with buildings, you can see many luxury cars parked openly in front of their homes, monitored by electronic cameras.

This is a wealthy area. If you put it in that poor, run-down place, you wouldn't even have four wheels left when you wake up the next day!

Security in the upscale neighborhood was quite good. Every so often, Zhang Ailun would see police officers standing by the roadside drinking coffee, their waists fully armed, giving a warning look to oncoming vehicles.

He glanced at the driver's seat, but stopped paying attention once he saw that the driver was white.

The Cadillac drove onto a main road and passed by two police officers who were standing guard under a coconut tree.

The officer glanced at the last digit of the license plate, picked up the radio on his chest, and said something.

After receiving confirmation, I noted it down in my notebook and then continued chatting as if nothing had happened.

A black Cadillac pulled up in front of the detached villa at number 964.

The female driver took out her iPad, opened the real estate company's app, entered a password, and unlocked the mansion's security door, which opened automatically. She then stepped on the gas and drove into the parking garage.

After getting out of the car, she helped the drunken Catherine to the sofa inside the house to lie down.

The female driver removed her white gloves, revealing her fitted uniform and long, reddish-brown curly hair. She then changed into high heels at the door before formally introducing herself to Zhang Ailun.

"Let me formally introduce myself, sir. I am Olivia, the property manager for the Crown District in Corona. I am responsible for the daily cleaning, transportation, and ordering of household items for the residents."

"Hello, Olivia." Zhang Ailun shook hands with her and looked her over.

Her makeup was exquisite, with long, narrow eyelashes and a few freckles. The perfume she wore to cover up her body odor was very strong, something he had wanted to complain about in the car.

She has a good figure and is very good-looking, I'd give her an 8.9 out of 10, but unfortunately she's not his type.

After witnessing Jennifer's angelic beauty, Zhang Ailun's immunity and resistance improved significantly while he was in a foreign country, which was like a shot of adrenaline!

"If you have any needs or encounter any emergencies, you can use the landline phone in the house to call the property management number, or use the developer's app to send me a private message in the background. I am on duty the whole night. After the one-click alarm is triggered, the police will arrive at the scene within 3 minutes after receiving the emergency notification."

Olivia seemed to handle this small situation with ease and was quite adept at it.

Even though Zhang Ailun was just a stranger brought back from outside, she had experienced it many times before.

Black people, white people, and now it's been replaced by Asians, which isn't surprising at all.

This is also the freedom of homeowners and the wealthy.

Before leaving, she didn't forget to hint at something to him.

For example, "Among three people walking together, there must be one who can teach me."

The cats in the mansion can do backflips, and I can not only do backflips but also don't shed fur, and so on.

Seeing that Zhang Ailun wasn't particularly interested in her and was only being polite, Olivia felt a little disappointed and turned away with a swagger.

That's a big butt.

Wait, isn't she also in charge of managing the garbage recycling in the wealthy neighborhood?

Zhang Ailun suddenly regretted it, thinking that there was nothing wrong with keeping the person around to cultivate a relationship.
