"You guys stay here, I'll go and take care of the monster in the bedroom."

Wenya turned around, gave Ningbao and Baigao a quick greeting, and then rushed out with wet steps. If this monster was as dirty as the previous mud monster, it would be easy for her to wash herself if she got dirty. But if Ningbao and Baigao got dirty, Wenya would really faint on the spot.

"Okay~"

Both dumplings nodded in unison.

Twenty minutes later, Wenya returned covered in colorful feathers:

"It was a strangely shaped bird with eyes on its beak and wings on its claws. It was horribly ugly."

She plucked the feathers off her body one by one:

"Oh, right, that guy also has an eyeball between its claws."

Wenya opened the wooden box, and inside lay two almost identical snake eyes.

"Ningbao also found some strange things here."

Ningbao pushed a blue plastic box that looked like it was for holding soap to Wenya, but instead of soap, it contained a bunch of fingernails still attached to the flesh, as if they had been ripped off her hand, along with teeth.

Wenya remained silent for a long while before speaking:

"So the final mission of this instance isn't to assemble various parts into a complete corpse, is it? Who would be so bored as to dismember a body in such detail?"

Bai Gao had shrunk into a ball. Although he was a system, he was timid.

"Alright, if we're going to piece the bodies together, let's look for the bathroom next."

Ning Bao nodded and, with remarkable efficiency, began searching.

The three animals searched for more than ten minutes but could not find the second part.

Bai Gao plopped down on the ground:

"It can't be one set per room, right? Judging by this level of detail, how many rooms would there be?"

"It doesn't matter, hitting a ghost in reverse is quick."

Ningbao waved his paw generously, indicating that it was no big deal.

"If they're all at this level, then it'll definitely be a quick fight. The problem is that he'll get stronger as the game progresses... Sigh, let's see."

Wenya pulled out a slip of paper; it contained the bathroom rules:

Rule 1: Please do not enter the bathroom to wash or groom yourself.

Wenya: ...

Fortunately, they are capable of fighting.

Feeling there were no more clues in the bathroom, Wenya led Ningbao and Baigao to the bedroom. The bedroom was already warm and cozy, thanks to the heater that had been turned on beforehand.

What was that sound?

Ningbao heard a strange squeaking sound, went closer to the trash can and saw that it was a strange bird.

"This is the strange bird I was just talking about."

Wenya popped a piece of hot potato into his mouth and said.

"Oh~"

Ningbao nodded, then squatted down by the air conditioner vent and let the air blow on him.

"Ha~"

The hot air blew into Ningbao's mouth and even blew Ningbao's fur backward, making him look like a ball of fluffy hair.

"Ningbao, don't squat there in the wind. Mumu has told you so many times, but you still don't listen."

"Mumu said that you shouldn't be exposed to cold air, or you'll catch a cold, but Ningbao is exposed to warm air right now, so she won't catch a cold."

Ning Bao had her own reasons, and Wen Ya couldn't argue with her anyway.

"Okay, okay, you're right. I'll tell Mumu later."

But it's okay, Wenya has a killer move: telling the parents. This trick can't be used casually on kids in their rebellious phase, but it's perfect for little ones who aren't rebellious at all.

"Ah! Ningbao's not bragging anymore."

Sure enough, Ningbao immediately ran over, looking at Wenya expectantly:

"Ningbao is such a good girl, isn't she? Sister Wenya, you can't tell Mumu!"

"Okay, I won't say anything. You two dry off and go to sleep. Kids need to go to bed early and get up early, because you have to get up early to do tasks tomorrow morning."

Actually, Bai Gao didn't even need Wen Ya to tell him; he was already dozing off in the warm room. But it didn't seem right for him to fall asleep without drying his fur, so Wen Ya picked the little furball up again.

"What~"

The kitten groggily opened its eyes and stumbled forward a couple of steps. Its low stance made it seem as if it was walking on its belly, not on its legs.

Moreover, he only took two steps. After that, Bai Gao seemed unable to support the weight of his large head, so he slammed his head on the ground and closed his eyes again.

Ning Bao felt this scene was familiar:

"Ah Yin was like this when she first came to our house. A little white fur ball, she could even walk on her belly."

A flawless version after careful inspection!

Wenya didn't respond, since she couldn't say anything either.

Ah Yin is a white fox, and Ning Bao's second pet. When Ah Yin first arrived at Ning Bao's home, Wen Ya didn't even know Ning Bao yet. By the time she met Ah Yin, although Ah Yin was still a tiny little fox cub, it was already jumping and running around.

"Sister Wenya, look!"

Ningbao wasn't sleepy yet, and it wasn't her usual bedtime, so she was wandering around the bedroom. The room was quite big, which was fun for the little one; everything was new and exciting.

"what?"

Wen Ya was engrossed in watching a movie. And you know what? This bedroom is surprisingly well-equipped; it even has a projector.

"Another rule."

Rule 3: Please do not change the bedding in the room.

"Who cares about him? We've already defeated the monsters. Besides, when I first arrived, the blankets and pillows here were filthy; you couldn't sleep in them. We've already replaced them all."

Wenya's eyes remained glued to the movie as she casually waved her paw.

"However, I guess the clean quilt in the original box was a trap. If someone who doesn't have the strength to defeat this monster is replaced, then they've broken the rules."

"This pit is actually quite nice. If it weren't for this pit, we wouldn't have any clean blankets to sleep on right now."

After sighing, Ningbao folded the small note in her paw and put it away. She'd learned this from Mumu: keep it whether it's useful or not. If it's useless, she'll just throw it away after leaving the instance.

"Sister Wenya, aren't you going to sleep?"

After finishing all that, Ningbao yawned again. It was already late, at least for a kindergarten child.

"You're a child, you should go to sleep first. Adults don't need to go to sleep this early."

Wenya answered absentmindedly while munching on sunflower seeds. She was a master of staying up late, and she hadn't even finished watching a single movie yet—how could she possibly sleep?

At 1:30 a.m., Bai Gao and Ning Bao were already fast asleep in bed. Ning Bao also fully demonstrated her superb sleeping skills. Luckily, the bed was really big, otherwise Bai Gao would definitely have been kicked off.

Wenya was still awake; she was watching her fourth movie of the night. The horror movies here were really exciting, every single one was top-notch.

Happy Year of the Dragon! (ω)

The sadness of having no drafts: I'm watching the Spring Festival Gala while typing. But I don't know if it's because the Galas of the past two years were so bad that my expectations were low, but I think this year's Gala was still very good. I guess this can be considered a rebound from rock bottom.
