Chapter 3 Daily Tasks (Part 1)

Lynn did not agree with Anglie's remarks, but he did not refute his teacher.

Lynn asked, puzzled, "If you can use these methods to extend your own lifespan, why can't you use them to extend the lives of your family members?"

He didn't get an answer from Anglie, but only a meaningful smile from him.

The next day, Lynn got up very early, cleaned the small building, and then went to the courtyard to check that the purple phoenix flowers were fine before going to the attic.

They now live in a three-story house in the mountains outside the city.

There is also an abandoned courtyard outside, and two basement floors under the small building.

It's unclear why the original owner built the basement.

The iron railings and many other decorations here seem to have been there originally, only simply repaired and used by later generations.

After preparing the ingredients in the kitchen, Lynn went to the laboratory to check the experimental equipment again, and left the laboratory after confirming that everything was in good condition and clean.

Teacher Anglie has a habit of sleeping in late, and he doesn't get up until about ten o'clock every morning.

Footsteps echoed upstairs.

Teacher Anglie woke up earlier than he expected today.

He looked quite well; it seemed like he had some good news.

People are happy when they are happy.

It's clear that Professor Anglie is in a good mood.

Shortly after, Anglie went to the basement laboratory and began preparing the potion.

Lynn stood not far behind Anglie, watching intently with great interest.

A pungent odor gradually filled the air.

The test tube in Anglie's hand changed from blue to yellowish-green, and finally to dark green.

Lynn watched as his teacher added all sorts of strange ingredients to the potion, and his expression gradually evolved into that of an old man on the subway looking at his phone.

Anglie held a syringe in one hand and pushed open the door with the other, walking into the corridor.

"Open the door to this room," Anglie said.

"No, no!" Lauren's terrified voice came from inside the room.

Lynn stepped forward and unlocked the door. Anglie pushed the door open and went into the room. A short while later, he roughly dragged an adult out.

This seemingly strong adult was as weak and powerless as a chick in Anglie's hands.

Lynn recognized the man as Lauren, the one who had given him money yesterday to pass on a message.

Lauren's face was ashen, as if she had already foreseen her fate.

However, when his gaze fell on Lynn behind Anglie, he paused for a moment, as if he had found the only hope, and forced a smile onto his face.

Lynn thought to herself that her teacher looked delicate and frail, wearing black-rimmed glasses, with prominent cheekbones on her thin face.

But his strength was unlike that of a normal person.

From the knowledge he gleaned from his notebook, Lynn knew that many wizards would try to modify their physical bodies, and that wizarding was a profession with the least obvious weaknesses compared to other supernatural power systems.

Depending on the wizard's path, the direction of the transformation will vary.

But one thing is certain: the profession of wizard is more like that of a group of scholars who are rigorous and ambitious in their pursuit of truth.

Lauren was tied to the operating table, and his hands and feet were chained.

"Let's take a closer look," Anglie said.

Lynn took two steps forward and stood next to Anglie.

Anglie injected Lauren with the white medicine he had just prepared. Lauren quickly fell into a coma after the injection, and then Anglie slowly pushed the medicine into Lauren's vein.

Lauren's arm gradually swelled and deformed, and large amounts of green scales appeared on the surface of her skin.

As time passed, Lauren's arm swelled up larger and larger.

Although she was already used to it, Lynn still couldn't bear to close her eyes and silently prayed. Bang—the explosion did not come as expected.

Lynn opened his eyes and looked at Lauren on the operating table with some curiosity. Lauren's right arm was completely deformed, as if a lizard's arm had been transplanted onto a human body.

At the shoulder where the arm connects to the body, numerous large blood vessels spread out towards the torso, bulging high, while Lauren's cheeks quickly sunken in.

This distortion is draining Lauren's vitality.

Anglie quickly injected Lauren with another vial of clear reagent.

Lauren's breathing became steady, and the amount of life force she consumed immediately decreased significantly.

"As expected, it's due to vitality; my approach to the potion is correct."

Anglie muttered to himself, his tone filled with barely suppressed excitement.

As time passed, Lauren, lying on the operating table, under Lynn's watchful gaze, visibly transformed into a grotesque monster, half-human and half-beast, covered in scales and resembling a lizard.

The lizardman lying on the operating table suddenly opened his eyes, and Lynn saw confusion in them.

It raised its right arm, one end connected to the operating table, and the other end connected to the iron chain bracelet on its arm, which was then raised.

The lizardman turned his head with difficulty and suddenly saw the bracelet on his right arm.

And there were scales all over it, and a lot of nails that had grown out.

A hint of confusion flashed in the snake-like pupils.

The lizard man suddenly realized that this was his own arm.

How did my hands become like this?

The lizardman was startled and let out a sound of alarm and anger, but what came out of his mouth was a roar similar to that of a wild beast.

With a forceful pull of his arm, the iron chain was stretched taut, making a rattling sound.

The intense struggle caused the entire operating table to shake violently.

boom!

The iron chain bracelet on his right arm, which was connected to the operating table, detached directly from the table. Two screws were knocked off, and the long iron chain, along with his strong arm, grabbed at the nearest person, Anglie.

At that moment, the inconspicuous black robe worn by Anglie beside him suddenly emitted a faint silver light.

Then a gray barrier appeared, protecting Lynn as well. The chains flying in mid-air were bounced high into the air the moment they hit this barrier.

A twig flew out from the sleeve of Anglie's arms and instantly wrapped around the lizardman, binding him tightly.

The bound lizardman struggled for a moment, but the struggles grew weaker and weaker.

Lynn looked at the seemingly very delicate branch with surprise.

It looked very slender, even thinner than an iron chain, yet it managed to bind the lizardman tightly.

"What a fine test subject." Anglie's face revealed a chilling smile.

The next moment, Anglie uttered a single, obscure syllable.

A cloud of grayish-white mist condensed in front of him and then disappeared into the lizardman's head.

The lizardman's body shuddered, then he closed his eyes, fell unconscious, and lost all consciousness.

Seemingly noticing Lynn's curious gaze, Anglie was in a good mood and even explained to Lynn, "Sleeping Spell, a simple zero-ring spell. After all, there are always some naughty test subjects who don't want to obediently accept the experiment, and this can make them quiet down."

"I see you seem quite interested in mutation studies. I have a notebook here; you can take a look." The ruby ring on Anglie's index finger flashed slightly, and the next moment a book with a brown leather cover appeared in his palm. The leather on the book had many wrinkles, but it gleamed under the candlelight, clearly showing that it had been well cared for.

I took the book, which wasn't exactly thin, from its leather cover.

Lynn bowed respectfully to his teacher. "Thank you for the knowledge you have given me, teacher."

Anglie was very pleased with Lynn's thoughtfulness. "This is my introductory notebook from when I was young and studying mutations. It contains many of my insights and copied knowledge, which can be helpful for your beginner's journey."

"I will definitely study hard," Lynn said humbly.

"Go back to your room and take a good look around. I'm going to do some small experiments. You can come back later to tidy up the lab," Anglie said.

Lynn, holding the book, was about to leave the lab and close the door when Anglie's voice came from inside.

"Remember to study the above content carefully these next few days. I'll give you five days to study and then check your progress. If you don't understand anything, feel free to ask me."
