Chapter 22 Departure (Part Two)

Unconsciously, a wave of energy pierced through the carriage curtain and struck the sheriff captain precisely.

The sheriff captain, who was standing there, trembled as if possessed, his body suddenly stiffening, as if he had been struck heavily by a sledgehammer.

Then, with a thud, he knelt directly on the ground.

The kneecap made no response even when it violently struck the gravel on the ground.

The other sheriffs who were gathered together were stunned, wondering what was wrong with their captain and why he had suddenly knelt down.

The fat man with short eyebrows felt uneasy, and then he saw the carriage curtain being lifted, and the boy from before leaning out.

He was holding a black wooden staff, which he pointed at them.

Although he wore a gentle smile, his deep eyes were as cold as a deep pool.

A ball of liquid the size of a basketball is rolling and spinning at the tip of the wooden stick.

The liquid flew out, landed in the crowd, exploded, and splattered everywhere!

"what!"

Numerous screams echoed across the empty main road.

The intense pain caused by the highly corrosive acid knocked everyone to the ground. These usually pampered sheriffs were no longer able to fight after being corroded by the acid.

Lynn bent over, his boots on the carriage steps, and stepped down with a flintlock pistol in his hand.

Walk up to the person who is still breathing.

He aimed the flintlock pistol at the head.

He pulled the trigger without any mercy.

boom!

Then pick up another flintlock musket and repeat the previous steps.

boom!

boom!

Kaka-

The thimble made a clicking sound.

The shot failed to fire, possibly because the bullet was damp or for some other reason.

Lynn turned the gun upside down, grabbed the barrel, and smashed it down on the head with the butt, until blood was flowing and brains were splattering everywhere before he stopped.

After dealing with the trouble, Lynn bent down, picked up the corner of the person's clothes on the ground, and wiped the bloodstains off the boots.

Then, after skillfully looting their guns and bullets, as well as the money in their pockets, as if he had done something insignificant, he naturally returned to the carriage.

Poor old Kim, when has she ever seen such a brutal scene?

He covered his eyes with both hands.

He felt he might have seen something he shouldn't have.

"It's over. I, Old Kim, might not make it past tonight," Old Kim thought pessimistically.

"Keep going," Lynn's gentle voice came from inside the carriage.

Old Kim swallowed hard, not daring to smoke, and quickly spurred his horse to continue south.

Once Lynn and the others had gone some distance, Lauren, who was wearing a curtain draped over her shoulders, came down the hillside and turned to ask the woods behind her, "Are you hungry? Would you like something to eat?"

The only response he received was the sound of leaves rustling in the wind.

Lauren shook her head, then dragged the bodies one by one into the nearby woods.

After quickly cleaning up the traces on the ground, Lauren heard someone approaching from afar and quickly hid to the side.

"Well handled." Anglie opened his eyes and said.

Lynn quickly closed the book and listened to her teacher's teachings.

"I was worried they would disturb the teacher," Lynn said.

"Teacher, there's something I need to tell you last night."

"I know, I thought you wouldn't say," Anglie said meaningfully.

Lynn's expression changed slightly.

"It's just an alchemy lab. Since it's your gain, you can keep it."

"Yes." Lynn lowered his head, his face showing trepidation, but his heart remained calm. His teacher did indeed know about last night's events; it would have been surprising if Anglie hadn't.

Looking out the carriage window, Anglie suddenly said, "If I had been as cautious as you, perhaps none of those things would have happened."

"Since it's an alchemy lab, there should be books on alchemy inside. You're currently learning mutation studies from me. Remember, human energy is limited. Even if you weren't human, your energy wouldn't be limitless. So, in the beginning, it's best to master one or two subjects."

"This will be of great help to you later," Anglie said.

Lynn didn't quite understand, but he kept his teacher's words in mind.

Given Teacher Anglie's knowledge, what he said must make sense.

The carriage entered the Sagunto Mountains, and the surrounding roads gradually became bumpy.

The trees on both sides gradually grew taller and denser, casting dark shadows that obscured the road.

Old Kim found a quiet spot to stop the carriage.

Then he took the blanket that was under the driver's seat at the front of the carriage and wrapped it around himself.

Then they gathered some dry firewood and started a fire by the roadside.

He knew his life hung in the balance, at the mercy of the mysterious sorcerer inside the carriage.

"Sir, would you like to come down and warm yourself by the fire?" Old Kim asked.

The carriage was silent; no one answered.

Old Kim didn't dare ask any more questions. He lowered his head, placed his hands on the fire, and rubbed them together.

The carriage was empty except for a metal Rubik's Cube sitting quietly on the seat.

The alchemy lab is a folded space, and the interior is somewhat cramped.

The main problem was that there were scattered experimental instruments and draft papers everywhere inside.

Lynn didn't have time to tidy up last night either.

Meanwhile, on the bed in the corner of the space, Anglie was sitting on the bed reading a book.

Just now, Lynn politely asked the teacher if he wanted to enter his folded space, and he thought the aloof teacher would refuse.

Surprisingly, they agreed immediately.

Anglie, who was reading, coughed slightly.

Lynn quickly looked away. Judging from the teacher's attitude, this folding space wasn't anything too rare in his eyes. So why did he never use it? Was it because he didn't have it?

Lynn tidied up the alchemy lab.

He neatly arranged these experimental instruments according to their categories.

After working for half a day, I finally got everything cleaned up.

A line of small words appeared at the corner of his eye.

"Daily task completed: Cleaning the laboratory (Part 2) Clean the laboratory thoroughly to keep it clean and tidy."

Completion Level: Satisfactory

"Reward: 10 general experience points."

Lynn paused, realizing that the alchemy lab was indeed a lab.

But why is it (II) instead of (I)? Is it because this lab belongs to me, or because this lab is more "advanced" than the temporary lab I set up a while ago?

With these ten general experience points gained, Lynn's experience points reached 100.

It can be upgraded again.

For now, Lynn's main focus is on leveling up.

Because leveling up not only improves physical fitness and mental strength, but also increases meditation efficiency.

It can improve efficiency by more than 10%.

The earlier you improve things like meditation efficiency, the greater the benefits.

As for mutation knowledge, one can improve it by reading books. Although Lynn, an alchemist, was also very curious, for example, this iron earthworm is a monster created by alchemy. Who wouldn't want to create a few magical Gundams by hand?

But Lynn hadn't even finished reading the books on mutation, and he thought the assembly-line Hulk seemed pretty good too.

He wasn't in a hurry; the knowledge was right there, waiting for him to acquire it.
