I'm doing daily quests in Wizarding World

Chapter 123 Bounty (Part Two)

Two wizard apprentices who had moved from out of town without proper residency permits died in their temporary housing.

No one spoke up for them, and nobody cared—except the landlord.

"This is thirty magic stones for house repairs." Lynn took out thirty magic stones and handed them to the landlord in front of him.

"Okay, friend. If you're going to burn down a house again, just let me know in advance." The wizard apprentice in front of him smiled and took the magic stone.

Lynn returned to the house and asked Lauren, "Did you find out anything?"

"We got the information. Using the method you suggested, Master, he confessed everything before even making it through the first round," Lauren said.

"He said that a certain force had put a bounty on your head, and he and another apprentice came to find you after accepting the bounty. They had been lying in ambush for several days, but you stayed in the laboratory and didn't go out. In order to lure you there, they ambushed the goblins," Lauren said.

Is there still a reward?

"How much is my head worth?" Lynn asked with great interest.

"This can be exchanged for a place as a full-fledged wizard student," Lauren said.

"So low." Lynn touched his neck. Giving him such a low price, wasn't that looking down on him?

He wouldn't even part with magic stones, just making empty promises. He only offered one student position, without guaranteeing anything else, yet he expected apprentices to work for him hand and foot. The person making these empty promises was truly stingy.

Who is the person who offered the bounty?

"A wizard named Before, who is currently an instructor at Dawn Wizarding Academy, is said to have been a certified wizard for over fifty years," Lauren said.

Lynn nodded silently, making the name a part of her mind.

"However, the wizard apprentice said that if they died, someone else would take on the quest, so he hoped we would let him go."

Lauren said.

Lynn just smiled and waved his hand when he heard this.

Lauren understood and retreated.

There is never a limit to the number of people who can accept this kind of task.

Lynn headed to the service lobby, intending to thank Toby, though it would have been a simple thing for him.

But I still feel indebted to her.

True friendship requires give and take; it can't always be one where you're the only one taking from others. Lynn deeply understood this principle.

Here's a serving of Abyssal Mother Crab. This is a type of crab with a diameter exceeding one meter that prefers to live on the edge of the Abyssal Mother River. It tastes delicious, but it likes to hide in the Abyssal Mother River when it encounters danger, so its numbers are quite rare. Not to mention, in Demon City, Lynn spent seventy-six magic stones to buy this Abyssal Mother Crab, which is comparable to a second-tier transcendent creature.

As Lynn emerged from the service hall, he glanced at the quest log. For wizarding apprentices who weren't from the Abyss Wizarding Academy, quests could only be accepted through the quest log, but apprentices like Lynn from the academy could accept quests through a separate handbook.

This manual records all unaccepted tasks in the taskbar history.

This also indirectly eliminates some easy tasks, because easy tasks are immediately snapped up by everyone as soon as they are released.

The tasks that remain are all quite challenging, but the rewards for these tasks are also more generous.

Lynn suddenly noticed one of the tasks—"Recruiting Experiment Assistants"—with the reward of choosing one of five materials.

This task has been available for two months, and the rewards are very generous. Lynn wondered why no one would accept it.

After inquiring with the staff, Lynn learned the inside story: because of the generous rewards, many wizard apprentices had naturally come to ask about this task.

However, this task has very high requirements, and the experimental assistants recruited over there need to be screened.

The first hard requirement is that one's mental strength must be greater than one hundred.

The second condition is that you need to be qualified to conduct the test. As for how to conduct the test, you need to go to the laboratory to do so.

There aren't many wizard apprentices who meet the first condition, but there are some.

However, none of them currently meet the second standard.

Therefore, this task is currently inactive.

Lynn felt that he should meet the second standard, and he was also curious about his current level of qualifications.

Lynn accepted the task, and the staff told him that because several batches of apprentices who accepted the task had failed, the wizard who issued the task decided to have the wizards who accepted the task gather five people and go to the laboratory for testing at once.

With Lynn already having four wizard apprentices accepting the job, they only need to wait for one more.

Lynn wasn't in a hurry; he just needed to have everyone ready to notify him.

Back at his lodgings, Lynn began a new round of research, delving deeper into runic literature in an attempt to build a wizard tower. Lynn discovered that with his current level 2 runic literature at 15%, constructing a wizard tower might still be a bit of a stretch.

Some wizarding apprentices might ask for help, gather people to build a wizarding tower together, or pay a fee to have a certified wizard refer to parts of the wizarding tower's design.

However, Lynn believed that it was best to make such an important thing as the Wizard Tower by herself.

Therefore, this places very high demands on Lynn's own skill level.

If your skill level is too low, you won't be able to build enough wizard towers.

But Lynn actually really liked this learning atmosphere. He enjoyed the process of learning new knowledge, especially the learning with a progress bar, which made him look forward to each lesson even more.

After a week of continuous study, I also attended classes to learn some courses related to the knowledge I had acquired.

Lynn received a notification from the staff that the required number of people had been gathered.

Lynn went to the service hall to meet up.

Three of the five were apprentices Lynn had met in rune-related classes.

Because they don't usually take action, Lynn didn't know their strength, but he didn't expect that their mental strength had all broken through one hundred points.

Upon seeing Lynn, the three greeted him.

Compared to the familiarity of Lynn and his group of four, the last apprentice, standing alone to the side, seemed somewhat out of place. He carried two short swords, one blue and one red, on his back; his handsome features were androgynous, and his expression was rather arrogant. Seeing the four people exchanging words, a hint of disdain flashed across his face. Only the weak band together; the strong are always alone. This is a selection of talent; what use is banding together?

The staff took out an invitation that Lynn recognized. As the invitation was torn open, the space seemed to open up as well, and a door appeared in the center of the room.

After everyone entered the door, Lynn looked around and realized it wasn't the landing point he had entered last time.

It is an unfamiliar login point.

Soon someone came to pick up Lynn and the others; it was a creature that floated not far off the ground, draped in a black cloak and resembling a ghost.

The creature circled in front of Lynn and the others, then swayed and turned away, its hoarse voice echoing in their minds—"Come with me."

Lynn and his group followed, while the other wizard apprentices around them curiously observed their surroundings, occasionally letting out exclamations of surprise.
