Chapter 121 Growth
Chapter 121 Growth (Part Two)
Just as Lynn was closing the properties panel and preparing to go for a walk and check out the bookstore for new books, Lauren hurried over.
"Master, someone killed our delivery goblins, and the goods prepared for the buyers were also stolen."
The goblins were killed?
Lynn remained calm. "Have you found out who did it?"
"No, but there were some signs of a struggle at the scene."
The deliverymen I sent out were goblin wanderers. Goblin wanderers are agile and fast, so there is little chance of accidents.
The goblin was his follower, and residents with official residency status in the Demon City were not allowed to fight each other at will.
"There are signs of a fight, which means that although the opponent is stronger than the goblin wanderer, he is not much stronger," Lynn muttered to himself.
Followers also have the right to be protected within the Demon City. If a follower is killed without attacking others, its owner can also exercise the right to protect their property.
This is why some out-of-town wizard apprentices want to obtain a formal residence permit, as only with this permit can they enjoy protection in the Demon City.
Lynn pondered that the lack of clues did not mean there was no way to find the mastermind behind it all.
This is a world with wizards.
Putting everything else aside, if the other party doesn't have any treasures to conceal information, hiring a fortune teller can easily find clues.
However, Lynn has a way to get money from a fortune teller without spending any.
"Keep an eye on things, stop all experiments in the lab, and be on high alert. I'll be back soon," Lynn said before heading out to the service hall.
"It's been a while since you've been here," Toby joked.
"I'm busy, aren't I?" Lynn said with a smile.
Toby waved his hand. "It's alright, I understand. You wizards are all so busy. So, what do you need me for?"
"Can't I come to see you if there's nothing wrong?" Lynn asked in surprise.
Toby chuckled upon hearing this, pointed at Lynn, and said, "Alright, then don't ask me for help later."
Lynn just smiled and didn't answer. She sat down opposite Toby with practiced ease, opened the tea box on the table, and found it to be empty.
"Where did you go for the tea I drank last time?" Lynn asked.
"That tea stuff you mentioned last time was really interesting. I asked a friend to find some tea trees for me in the Abyss. The leaves taste pretty good when brewed. A while ago, two old friends came over and took some of it for me." Toby shook his head.
Toby suddenly looked at Lynn intently and said, "Your mental strength should have reached the minimum standard for a first-level wizard, right?"
"I couldn't escape your discerning eye," Lynn said.
"Stop flattering me. It's just that my abilities happen to be related to the soul, which is why I can sense your changes," Toby said.
"You're pretty fast too. By the way, how's your material gathering for building the Wizard's Tower coming along?" Toby asked.
"I've prepared some things, but I feel it's not perfect enough," Lynn replied.
Over the past few years, he has used most of the magic stones he has earned to buy auxiliary materials, and the expenditure on auxiliary materials is also a considerable sum.
Although the price of a single auxiliary material is not as high as that of the core material, the quantity adds up, and the total price of a large number of auxiliary materials is not cheap.
Lynn has invested almost all of his magic stones in this project over the past few years, and has completed the matching of auxiliary materials with the six core materials he has collected.
If he wanted, he could build a simple wizard tower right now.
However, Lynn's ambitions did not stop there. After going through so much trouble to build a wizard tower, why would he build a bunker that could only fly and had no offensive capabilities? Lynn naturally hoped that his wizard tower could be as perfect as possible.
"I have some material here, do you want it?" Toby suddenly asked.
"In which area?"
"It's offensive, and it's Abyss-type, so it's easy to upgrade and use. You should have already collected the materials to build the Abyss Furnace, right? If I combine these materials with the Abyss Furnace, its power will increase significantly," Toby said.
"Is Uncle Toby going to give this to me?" Lynn asked.
"That won't do. According to your wizarding tradition, everything has its value, so I can't just give it to you for free. However, this task isn't necessarily difficult, and it might even be an opportunity for you. It all depends on whether you're willing to take it," Toby said meaningfully.
"Uncle Toby, please speak," Lynn said.
"Go to the Abyss Market and buy something from the administrator there," Toby said.
Lynn's expression shifted slightly. It had been almost ten years since the last Abyss Market, and it was time for the Abyss Market to open again.
I had just made an agreement with the Fly Demon that we would cooperate and trade together next time.
"The abyss administrator is a wizard stationed in the abyss. He has been stationed there for many years and has a large collection of treasures, some of which he doesn't even know the value of. I want you to buy a pink crystal from him," Toby said.
"Will he sell?" Lynn worried that the other party wouldn't sell, or would ask for an exorbitant price.
After all, these are items in the collection of a formal wizard. Anything that can be included in a formal wizard's collection is certainly not an ordinary item, and it must be quite expensive for a wizard apprentice.
"It will definitely sell," Toby said.
"And the price won't be too high. Among these treasures whose value he doesn't know, there are valuable ones and some junk. No matter what they are, you can buy them from him for just one thousand magic stones. If you are confident in your judgment, you can buy a few more items from him," Toby said.
"Then I'll do my best." Lynn nodded.
"Okay, I'll give you this material first." Toby pointed with his right fingertip, and a golden spark appeared in the void, spreading outward to form a ring.
Toby reached his right hand into the ring and quickly pulled it out.
He placed a bone that looked like a horn on the table.
The broken piece of corner was floating in the air.
The surrounding air was distorted, and faint black light and shadows lurked around the broken corner.
Staring at the bone, Lynn felt his whole body go limp, as if his soul had been sucked away.
Lynn quickly looked away, shocked. What was this thing? With his current mental strength, he almost had his soul sucked away after just one glance.
If it were an ordinary person, their soul would probably be sucked away with just one glance.
"This is the Horn of Darifon's Evil," Toby said. "It can also be called the Broken Horn of the Abyss Progenitor Wolf."
"You can use it to create an attack module that can absorb energy and release a powerful beam to annihilate enemies."
Lynn looked at the broken corner. The way to use the attack module was to use the organs of some legendary or powerful beings, and then use these organs to leverage their power in life.
Of course, it's not enough to just put it directly into the wizard tower. It needs to be combined with runes and magic circles to integrate it with the wizard tower in order to fully unleash its true power.
No wonder Toby said that the power would be enhanced after being powered by the energy from the Abyss Forge.
The owner of this broken horn is a powerful being from the abyss. I can look up the identity of this Abyss Primordial Demon Wolf later.
