I'm doing daily quests in Wizarding World

Chapter 118 Mutation (Part 1)

"Using different processes to complete a full healing process is a more advanced way of using magical potions. I have already demonstrated the specific steps to you in class." In the lecture hall, a wizard wearing black-rimmed glasses, with messy hair and some tree-like patterns on his body, methodically organized and put the materials on the experimental table into his spatial equipment.

Then he took out a small sign and waved it in front of him. A door opened, and the wizard stepped inside.

Some wizarding apprentices who wanted to ask questions were disappointed and had to stop.

Lynn closed his notebook, an idea popping into his mind. Lost in thought, he stood up and turned to leave the lecture hall.

A figure caught up from behind.

Time flies, and seven years have passed since Lynn came to the Demon Wizard Academy.

Because of Lynn's reputation among low- to mid-level wizarding apprentices for creating alchemical golems and selling meditation treasures, he is now quite well-known in the Demon Wizarding Academy, and many demon wizarding apprentices have heard of him.

Moreover, because his alchemy and potion-making skills were comparable to those of many veteran wizard apprentices, Lynn, this newcomer, was considered by some apprentices to be one of the most promising talents who would become a full-fledged wizard in the future.

Many wizarding apprentices wanted Lynn to commission alchemical products, but Lynn refused them all. Lynn was busy studying every day and had no time to make custom alchemical products for others. Moreover, the prices offered by others were not worth Lynn wasting his time on.

But this did not diminish Lynn's fame; on the contrary, it indirectly boosted her popularity.

"Wizard Lynn, I heard you're planning to buy a shop?" the apprentice who caught up from behind said.

"Hmm, you have a shop for sale?" Lynn stopped in her tracks.

In Demon City, apart from the newly built shops on the outskirts, all the shops closer to the city center have already been bought up. Moreover, the time these wizard apprentices have been buying them is getting longer and longer, and now many of the shop owners behind the scenes have even become formal wizards.

Therefore, it is very difficult to buy a shop in a good location. Even though Lynn used Toby's connections, Toby said that he could not get him a shop in the central urban area.

Lynn looked down on shops in the outskirts of the city because they were too far away and inconvenient. It was better to build a reputation and let others buy from them privately.

"It's not me selling, it's a friend of mine who wants to sublet it. The contract has eighty years left. I wonder if you, Wizard Lynn, would be willing to accept it?" the apprentice asked.

"Price, location," Lynn said.

"It's at No. 14 Xibei Street, a two-story building in a good location. It's 230 square meters in total, and the price is only 6,000 magic stones," the apprentice said.

Xibei Street.

A hint of surprise flashed in Lynn's eyes. Although the location of that street wasn't the best in the city center, it was definitely not bad either.

The price is indeed a bit high, but not expensive either; it's about the market price.

"That location could probably fetch a higher price if it were to be sold," Lynn said.

"Because I heard that you needed it, Wizard Lynn, and my friend was eager to help," the apprentice said.

"Let's wait a few days," Lynn interrupted, then quickly left.

Looking at Lynn's retreating figure, a hint of doubt appeared on the apprentice's face.

Did he find out?

Back at his residence, Lynn couldn't wait to return to the underground laboratory.

I started the experiment before the inspiration faded.

The knowledge he learned today opened a door for him. Sometimes, what is needed for creation is not accumulation, but a moment of inspiration.

For the past few years, Lynn has been trying to create a substance that can support the ability of this white flesh to homogenize objects and turn them into wax.

However, no matter how he made it, or even purchased a small amount of high-level alchemical synthesis materials, he could not resist the strange assimilation ability of this white flesh.

This also made Lynn gradually realize that this piece of white meat was not ordinary.

It is definitely not an ordinary thing. Although it looks inconspicuous, its status is definitely not low. It is a material that can be used by some formal wizards. Although it is just a scrap, its level is there. It can corrode materials of this level.

But this made Lynn even more excited, because the more unusual the white piece of meat, the more powerful the finished product would be.

This lesson gave Lynn a new perspective, and he thought of another possibility.

Since you can't prepare all the materials at once, why not prepare them in stages?

Lynn also studied potion-making, so why not combine potion-making with alchemy?

This led to the creation of a special material capable of containing and supporting this piece of white meat.

Although she has failed in the past few years, Lynn has not been without any gains.

Different materials can withstand the strange corrosive power of white flesh for different amounts of time. Some materials will be corroded in less than a second, while the material that Lynn has currently researched can withstand the corrosive effect for a full hour!

Lynn skillfully prepared the potion.

Then, the prepared medicine is gradually infiltrated into the liquid material using special methods.

The material that can resist corrosion the longest is a liquid metal, while the more solid the material, the shorter the time it can resist corrosion.

As Lynn injected the liquid metal, it gradually turned silvery-white.

Lynn then scraped some powder off the white flesh and put it into the silvery liquid metal. After the liquid metal absorbed the powder, bubbles appeared on its surface, but it quickly returned to calm.

Lynn hurriedly prepared another potion.

But as time passed, half an hour later, the color of the liquid metal gradually faded from silvery-white, and the surface looked as if it had been covered with a layer of gray.

Lynn poured another prepared potion into the half-corroded liquid metal.

The trend of liquid metal changes suddenly stopped!

Lynn's eyes lit up; this idea was indeed feasible!

If conventional methods don't work, then we'll use a strategy of leveraging existing forces. This waxy corrosive ability corrodes other substances, but what if the substance being corroded itself has a certain waxy property? Let the liquid metal begin to change, and then, halfway through the change, add another agent to alter the state of this partially mutated liquid metal.

If we consider this corrosive ability as a virus, Lynn is essentially giving it a vaccine from the same plant root.

While it cannot provide complete immunity, it can significantly reduce the harmfulness of the substance.

Lynn kept adjusting the medicine, injecting it every half hour.

Four and a half hours later, the pure white liquid metal in front of them was churning eerily, as if it had a life of its own.

Suddenly, the pure white liquid metal flew towards Lynn.

Lynn took a half step back, and suddenly a huge frame fell from above, trapping the liquid metal, while a large amount of thick fog spewed out from inside.

The once vibrant pure white liquid metal instantly wilted, but unlike the white flesh, it did not immediately turn into a seven-colored glass-like state.

Has this thing developed self-awareness? Or does it already possess consciousness but have been dormant all along?

Lynn's expression remained unchanged, but his eyes were cold.
