I'm doing daily quests in Wizarding World

Chapter 101 Unexpected Wealth

Chapter 101 Unexpected Wealth (Part 1)

A hundred miles outside the city of demons, in an abandoned settlement.

Various races live on the continent of God's Annihilation. Some are native to this world, while others are new races that were captured from other worlds by wizards and raised on this continent.

While these races may seem like pets kept in the backyard to powerful wizards, some of these powerful monsters still pose a significant threat and challenge to wizarding apprentices and ordinary wizards.

Peaceful and gentle soil cannot nurture flowers with unique personalities.

Therefore, the safest places on the Divine Annihilation Continent are the individual wizarding forces and the cities formed by large wizarding forces as their bases; these are all absolutely safe zones.

Outside the city, there are also gathering places in the desolate wilderness.

Some of these settlements were built by intelligent life forms that were friendly with humans.

Some were established by wandering wizards, or by groups of extraordinary professionals.

In the wilderness, these gathering places are like seeds scattered in the wild, wandering everywhere, stubbornly and tenaciously surviving.

Every year, various gathering places are abandoned for various reasons. Some are abandoned because the original residents leave, others are abandoned due to monster hordes, or others are abandoned due to attacks by powerful monsters.

This is a settlement built in the mountains and forests. It used to have a lot of wooden houses, but now most of the houses are broken and the settlement is overgrown with weeds and even trees.

In a secluded wooden hut on the outermost edge of the settlement, a somewhat plump but handsome swordsman with red eyes sat on the ground.

His ears twitched, and he took a staff from his robes, chanting an incantation. Then, in the soil outside the house, the earth loosened, and a mushroom-shaped eye sprouted from the ground.

The eye hidden in the corner shifted furtively, watching the nearby creatures suspiciously.

"Finally escaped. I'll try to get to a wizarding city further away. It's a pity, all the connections I built up before are gone now." The man dressed as a red-eyed swordsman said with some regret, but there was no trace of regret on his face.

But he didn't lose out either. He gained two important materials this time. He can keep one and find an opportunity to sell the other, or trade it with others to exchange for other materials that he lacks.

With his previous efforts, he was one step closer to becoming a formal wizard.

Jim walked to the mirror in the room and looked at his completely transformed appearance. He couldn't help but touch the human skin on his face. Even people who knew him wouldn't recognize him if they stood in front of him.

This is a human skin mask that he bought at a high price; the material used to make it is a complete human skin.

Of course, in addition to this human skin, there is also a carefully prepared magical disguise powder that can change his scent.

The red-eyed swordsman took out items from his storage space again.

Looking at the constantly ringing communication beacon, the red-eyed swordsman's lips curled into a hint of regret.

I was originally planning to sell him this material, but it turns out I don't even have the money to buy another one.

Seeing that he lived in such a nice location, I originally thought he was a wealthy apprentice, but what a pity, he turned out to be a poor wretch.

The red-eyed swordsman mercilessly stomped on the communication screw, crushing it.

This communication spool has lost its meaning, and he will no longer contact the people above.

When he arrives in a new place, he will change his identity and continue living there.

This is normal for him.

In fact, he had already changed his identity once before coming to the Demon City, but he didn't tell anyone.

Jim set up magical traps at the door and windows of the room, then closed his eyes and began to rest.

A small section of the soil outside the room revealed an eyeball that stared at the figure approaching from not far away, and its eyeball suddenly turned red.

Jim woke up in the middle of the night.

His scouting eye alerted him to the approach of an unfamiliar creature.

Jim connected with the Eye of Reconnaissance and gained access to its field of vision.

This time, Jim saw Lynn standing outside, and a hint of excitement appeared in his eyes.

Did you really think I didn't know you might have left a hidden feature in your alchemical artifacts so you could come looking for me? It's common for wizards to leave backdoors in their alchemical creations. Sure enough, no one can resist the allure of the materials; Lynn, you were here for the materials too, weren't you?

A ruthless glint flashed in Jim's eyes.

As an old wizard's apprentice, he understood this basic experience.

Just as he had never truly trusted the people around him, the seemingly close relationship with Lister was actually just a facade he used to disguise himself.

That naive guy thought he really considered him a friend. That's right, if he didn't have such a naive guy around him, how could others trust him more?

Jim's expression darkened as he saw Lynn take out his staff and conjure a fireball in his hand. A ball of flame materialized in the air, growing larger and larger until it formed a spherical shape.

Finally, it flew towards the wooden house in an arc.

boom! ! !

The windows of the wooden house shattered with a deafening roar, sending large amounts of glass shards flying everywhere, and flames from the explosion sprayed in all directions.

But the next moment, a more powerful magical fluctuation suddenly came from the window, like a drop of water falling into a pot of oil.

A strong cold wave swept in from the window, and a large amount of icy air spread in all directions.

Countless ice shards and fragments flew outwards.

The magical trap placed at the window was activated by a minor fireball, resulting in a violent explosion.

Several shards of ice flew towards Lynn, but a grid-like starlight shield appeared on Lynn's body and blocked the ice shards.

"You tried to kill me right away, Lynn. I didn't expect you to be after my materials too." Jim's cold voice came from behind the house.

"You just took my Iron Serpent One and didn't give it back to me. I'm here to get my Iron Serpent One back," Lynn said calmly.

Jim's loud laughter came from the opposite hillside; clearly, he didn't believe what Lynn said.

He has experienced and seen too much.

Wizards only care about their own interests, and he has seen far too many instances of wizards resorting to any means to acquire resources.

To him, Lynn's words were nothing but high-sounding embellishments.

"But you've gone too far. Do you know how long I've been chasing you? The more I chased you, the angrier I got. So now I want not only Iron Serpent One, but also your life," Lynn said gently.

"You? Don't think you're so great just because you're an academy wizard. You've only been in the academy for a few years. You've spent most of your time researching, and you haven't even mastered the spells properly. How can you be my match?" Jim laughed wildly.

As soon as he finished speaking, a blinding and bizarre bolt of lightning illuminated the dim forest, the lightning, like intertwined tree roots, striking Lynn like a sharp blade.

First-circle spell – Interlaced Lightning!

But the lightning bolt struck Lynn like a raging dragon, instantly shattering the outermost starlight shield and then destroying most of the shield spell before finally annihilating him.

"How many magical armors do you have? How many times can you withstand my Interlaced Lightning?" Jim's voice was somber in the woods.

Suddenly, Jim's chilling voice, accompanied by a scream, came to an abrupt end.

In the woods, a figure with long pink hair dragged Jim, who was much larger than her, out of the woods. Her indifferent face showed no extra expression, as if she had done something completely ordinary.

He casually tossed Jim, whose head was covered in blood, onto the ground.

"It's finished! Give it a perfect score!" Fura took out the rating sheet and pen from her pocket.

Lynn first used her staff to physically blow Jim's head off before taking the score sheet and pen and giving him full marks.

"Thank you, Fura."

Lynn said with gratitude.

Before setting off, Lynn found Toby.

Following the principle that only the thickest skin can get you ahead, Lynn approached Toby and told him his request. Although he didn't know Toby's abilities, Lynn felt that Toby was definitely much stronger than himself.

If he were alone, Lynn definitely wouldn't pursue Jim.

Jim has extensive connections and is very experienced. He even managed to give an apprentice from a prestigious demon wizarding academy like Gato a hard time. Lynn couldn't guarantee that he could beat Jim.

But he can call for backup.

Unlike the wizard who always followed the principles of trading, Lynn had a deeper understanding of relationships; he believed that only through give and take could a transaction be created.

Sometimes asking for help from others and owing them a favor can be a way to build closer relationships.

Toby didn't refuse, but he said it was inconvenient for him to leave Demon City, so he recommended Fura to Lynn, saying that with Fura's strength, solving his problem would definitely not be difficult.

It now seems that Fura's strength is beyond my expectations. A veteran level three wizard apprentice was caught off guard and was knocked unconscious by her sneak attack.

This strength must be at least at the third or fourth level of transcendent.

Lynn had been chatting with Jim on purpose, knowing that Jim was also stalling for time, and he needed time for Fura to launch a sneak attack.

Lynn walked to the ground and groped for Jim's body.

Soon, Lynn collected all the valuables from Jim's body and checked the spatial ring. Iron Serpent No. 1 was inside. Jim hadn't released it during the battle because it was made by Lynn, and it was hard to say whether it would attack Lynn or him if it were released.

In addition, there are five vacuum crystals in the corner of the spatial ring, specifically used to store items.

The vacuum crystal contained two clay hearts, a small pile of sand shaped like a pyramid, and finally a wisp of wind imprisoned by the vacuum crystal.

The wind danced continuously within the vacuum crystal, sometimes condensing into the shape of a feather, and sometimes transforming back into a gust of wind. The last vacuum crystal was empty, appearing to contain nothing.

Vacuum crystal is a material specifically used to preserve items. The state inside a vacuum crystal is maintained and is not affected by external factors.

Lynn didn't know what the other two vacuum crystals contained, but since they were placed together with the clay heart, they were probably materials as well.

They acquired four materials in one go, along with a number of other valuable items, including some one-time-use magic scrolls, magic traps, and some functional alchemy tools.

But Jim never got a chance to use any of them; they all became Lynn's spoils of war.

It has to be said that murder and arson bring wealth and power, and plunder is the fastest way for a wizard to grow.

That night, Lynn suddenly gained a profound understanding of this statement.

"Someone's coming," Fura said to Lynn, turning her head to look behind her.

Lynn knew that the sounds of the battle were so obvious that someone nearby would definitely be attracted to it.

The footsteps behind them grew closer, and from the woods, Gado and two other wizard apprentices emerged.

When Gado saw Lynn, he was also taken aback, seemingly not expecting that it would be Lynn who appeared here.
