Elf-like Life

Chapter 24, Flames

As the sun sets, even the divination crystal ball changes color in response to the movements of the natural bird.

First it was light blue,

Gradually turning light purple,

Under the influence of some powerful supernatural energy fluctuation, the transparent crystal ball continuously resonated deeply with the natural bird.

Then from deep purple,

Finally, it turns purplish-red!

The natural bird continues to face away from the sky, presiding over this sacred prayer ceremony.

Bucktoothed Raccoon: "Oh my god!"

"I have a bad feeling about them. I hope they're not in any danger. Luckily, I asked Natural Bird to do a prayer. Anyway, it doesn't look good..."

Before the words were even finished, the natural bird, having just ended its prayer, suddenly turned around, and the divination crystal ball instantly turned bright red!

GA, AAAAAAAAAAA——

【!】The buck-toothed raccoon felt that today's prayers were going very badly; the color of the divination crystal ball was terrible, a dangerously bright red!

2 minutes later,

The natural bird finally finished the ceremony, took a deep breath, and said, "Prayer complete, and I also did some divination."

"Want to hear it?"

The buck-toothed raccoon nodded uneasily.

"Their journey will not be peaceful; they may even encounter unexpected dangers."

"However, the final outcome is hard to predict. After a turbulent storm, there may be a rainbow. It is too early to return in defeat, or it may turn out for the better."

In the last instant, the buck-toothed raccoon looked worriedly at the sky:

"You must come back safe and sound."

"Oh my God..."

———Mushroom Forest Divider———

Although Charmander's wild clawing was very powerful, it had to give way when it encountered the Mushroom Leader's Hunyuan Xingyimen ultimate technique.

This move, the Loose, Flexible, Twist, Lightning Five-Strike Whip, is the Mushroom Leader's signature skill, primarily involving extremely fast shaking of the entire body.

The fusion is fast, accurate, and ruthless; it can instantly cause the spores throughout the body to tremble as if whipped five times in a row, like being electrocuted.

The destructive power comes entirely from the spores that are shaken out.

Five abnormal states of pentadalae.

First Whip, Poisonous Spores

Second whip, paralyzing spores

The third whip, the limp spores

Fourth whip, dormant spores

Fifth lash, Bewitching Spores

The power of these progressively increasing layers is considerable, and the shaking of the body allows the five types of spores to spread rapidly in the humid air.

This left Charmander completely helpless, as it was too close to the Mushroom Leader and couldn't dodge the five-spore volley in time.

Inhaling a large number of spores is unavoidable; as for what kind of abnormal condition it will cause, that remains to be seen.

hateful!

The lace scarf is right in front of me!

This giant mushroom is quite tough to deal with. If this drags on any longer, it will definitely be bad for us. I wonder if Pikachu has recovered from the poison yet!

Thinking this, Charmander had no choice but to jump back, trying to get away from the spores while glancing back at Pikachu's condition.

Fortunately, Pikachu had already eaten the antidote fruit while it was still dazed.

The little face changed from bluish-green to normal, and it seems that the whole team is in pretty good condition.

It happened in the blink of an eye!

Just as Pikachu was getting better, Pikachu started having a reaction itself.

My head felt heavy, and even everything in front of me began to blur:

"Oh no, what am I doing...?"

Pikachu immediately realized that Charmander had been hit by the most lethal spore spore of the five-shot spore combo.

Inhaling even a small amount of these spores can induce hallucinations.

Just like a mind-control technique, it can cause confusion over time.

"Little Charmander, you've been hit by the mind-controlling spores!"

The bad thing is that once you're affected by the mind-controlling spores, there are no medicinal tree fruits that can cure it.

But worse was yet to come; the five-spore burst had already spread rapidly through the surrounding air, and Pikachu couldn't escape it either.

Pikachu, who had just recovered from being poisoned, suddenly felt sleepiness creeping up on its eyelids. In an instant, it was so sleepy that its vision began to blur.

Mushroom Leader:

"It's no use, you've both been infected by my spores, one is unconscious, the other is hypnotized!"

"This is the consequence of your unauthorized trespassing on my territory!!"

The little dragon was starting to feel the strain.

Seeing that Pikachu was about to fall asleep, if he collapsed as well, the mission would undoubtedly fail.

As the captain of the Starry Night Expedition Team, I'm determined to complete this mission successfully no matter what.

Never give up, even if there's only a sliver of hope left!

We really can't give up, even if...

Even if self-harm is the last hope!

"Hey Pikachu, I've got an idea! You can't fall asleep yet!"

Pikachu is trying his best to stay awake, but in a few more seconds he might just collapse and fall into a deep sleep; he's almost done for.

"Pikachu!"

"Use electric shocks on me without hesitation; that's the only way to keep me conscious!!"

【!!!】Pikachu suddenly froze. He didn't know if Charmander had gone mad or if his nerves had been invaded by the mind-controlling spores, causing him to utter such incoherent nonsense about killing each other!

"Little Charmander, what are you saying...?"

Hurry, there's no time!

If this keeps up, we'll both collapse in the Mushroom Forest. Pikachu, attack me before you completely fall asleep!

"Imada, Pikachu!!!"

Boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom—

"Aaaaaaahhhhh!"

The next instant, a golden current abruptly turned towards the little fire dragon.

First, I felt a sensation on its deep red back, then a tingling sensation at the tip of its tail, followed by its orange belly, and finally its little paws!

Only when the electric current stung its entire body did the little dragon completely break free from the psychedelic spore state:

"Ughhhhhh, it hurts!"

"But today, I'm determined to be the fierce little dragon, and I'll never forget this pain!"

"That's right, we absolutely cannot fall here!!"

The mushroom leader was now completely panicked.

I've seen brave people, but I've never seen anyone so brave as to self-harm in front of themselves.

Although the electric current almost burned the little dragon, the pain brought it back to its senses.

Despite its battered and bruised body, the little dragon bravely leaped into the air!

This time, he was determined to awaken his fire-type skills at all costs, giving it his all to protect Pikachu, channeling all his power into his throat, and then unleashing the energy from his deep red tail!

You only get one chance!

Having experienced the failure of the last attempt to unleash the flame, the feeling is right before my eyes this time!

The flames were practically at the tip of my throat!!!

"Imada, we must succeed this time!"

"Flame!!"

Boom boom ...

Deep red flames billowed out!

The mushroom leader fled in disarray, clearing the path ahead.

Without a doubt, victory belongs to the Starry Night Expedition Team!

The Sky Scarf was right in front of him, and Charmander grabbed it with an unstoppable leap, thus concluding his first mission.

[Ding! The lost item has been successfully found. The mission is complete. You may return now.]

However, Pikachu didn't get to see Charmander's cool awakening of its flame; it had already fallen asleep and collapsed, with little bubbles coming out of its nose.

zzZZZZZZ……

Charmander figured out the key to releasing Flame on his own! It was a close call, but the power was incredible. He's got his STAB Flame move!
