Godslayer in the Marvel Universe

Chapter 6 A Fateful Choice

Chapter 6 A Fateful Choice

Such parasitic infiltration can only be done at noon, because something bad will happen sooner or later.

Ang's hands were incredibly steady as he used his dagger to cut open the highly realistic biomimetic material around Black Canary's neck and ripped off her hood. When she revealed a face that was in no way inferior to Miss Anna's, the murderous aura in the air seemed to intensify.

If it were Ang a few days ago, he probably wouldn't have scared Black Canary, but alas, the killer has a certain aura.

Having killed so many members of the Joker gang, he has transformed from an "ordinary" rich kid into a ruthless man who treats human life as worthless.

Surprisingly, he actually fooled Black Canary, who had recently been promoted by Black Mask for "accidentally showing off her skills." After all, before this, she was just a girl who sang in a nightclub.

Even though she was forced to infiltrate secretly this time, all she wanted was to control Ang and get the 'thing' that Ang had stolen.

Unfortunately, all their plans fell apart in the second step.

Neither she nor Black Mask could understand how such a seemingly useless spendthrift could possess such keen insight and astute judgment.

Ang couldn't explain it either. As soon as she arrived, the system popped up a window: [Black Canary Dina Lance (Disguise Mode)].

It seemed that the system could easily distinguish the existences he recognized.

But to the bodyguards, it was a different story; Louis's eyes were filled with admiration. He was also very responsible: "Team A, come to the pool immediately. A Class B incident has occurred."

Four bodyguards: two protected Ang, one controlled Black Canary, and the other pointed his gun at the old butler, Frank.

"Mr. Frank, do you have anything to say?"

"I...I don't know..." Faced with the dark barrel of the M4 rifle, the old butler seemed to have lost his mind.

Instead, Ang waved his hand and said, "Don't blame him. Black Mask has hypnotic abilities. Maybe he was just hypnotized. Take him away and keep a close eye on him. Don't hurt him."

The bodyguards who rushed to the scene did as instructed.

Everyone knows the butler is finished. Whether he was hypnotized or something, taking the blame for his master is enough to end his career.

Ang continued, "As for this Miss Black Canary, she can use ultrasound to injure people. Put her in straitjackets to ensure she can't use her beautiful singing voice, and keep her under the highest level of confinement."

"Yes, Boss!"

The black canary stared wide-eyed, as if she still couldn't believe that she had only received such treatment.

Before becoming a female spy, she was a star performer at the Black Mask Club, and was quite famous throughout the district. With her looks and figure, if her boss weren't Black Mask, there would be a long line of people wanting to seduce her, stretching all the way to the port.

Even so, most of those who coveted her beauty were frightened by the black mask, but occasionally there were those who didn't know what was good for them. She was harassed by a drunkard who tried to force himself on her in the toilet. She accidentally beat him up, which revealed her considerable fighting skills, and as a result, she caught the eye of her boss.

She knew all too well how the ruthless people in Gotham City treated women.

In the club, a sub-vocalist was dressed too conservatively. Black Mask felt that she couldn't attract the audience's attention, so he threw a tantrum in front of dozens of people and almost tore all her clothes off in public, leaving her to sing vulgar songs while trembling.

Before she made the mistake, she had considered the worst-case scenario.

Now it seems not so bad?

Normally, Ang might have had some crooked thoughts, but just as the little commotion was coming to an end, a bodyguard suddenly came over: "Boss, 'that one' seems to be waking up."

"Oh?"

This is truly an unexpected delight.

After so many days of missions, Angka has finally made some progress.

After dismissing those around him, Ang looked at Wonder Woman sleeping on the pristine white hospital bed.

She had no external injuries; the reason she had been in a coma for so many days was entirely due to her own actions.

As the fluctuations on the electrocardiogram and other instruments became more and more obvious, the heroine's long eyelashes finally trembled. When she opened her deep black eyes, the first thing she saw was naturally Ang's handsome face.

"You're awake?" Ang sat on a chair about two meters away from the heroine, his hands clasped together and resting on his chin.

In psychology, this gives the other person enough distance, thereby creating a sense of security.

Diana's reaction was indeed quite unusual; she exclaimed in surprise, "Wow! A man?"

Upon hearing this, Ang was overjoyed: Good heavens! This is the most authentic Wonder Woman. He's hit the jackpot!

Ang didn't know which point in time this somewhat chaotic world had progressed to, but without a doubt, Wonder Woman, who had just left Paradise Island, was the most valuable character to pursue.

Ang gave a confident smile and patted his chest: "Oh, beautiful lady, are you trying to say I'm your man?"

Making fun of others is fun for a moment...

He didn't know why he was being so cheeky. Perhaps it was because Black Canary and Wonder Woman were both Batman's confidantes in DC comics. Even just joking around gave him a kind of immoral thrill—a feeling that "the blond guy is actually me."

Wonder Woman didn't respond to him, blinking her bright eyes: "I don't quite understand what you mean."

"It's nothing!" Ang waved his hand. "Let me introduce myself first. My name is Ang. Four nights ago, I suddenly found you falling out of a strange... portal-like place. In fact, your appearance alerted quite a few evil people. I didn't know what to do, so please forgive me for taking the liberty of taking you away and protecting you."

After saying that, he walked over and, very naturally, extended his slightly trembling hand, making a gesture to shake hands with the female knight.

This is not an act.

Even at this point, Ang was 80% certain that Wonder Woman hadn't turned evil or anything, but he was still uncertain.

"My name is Diana Prince!" She paused for a moment, then smiled back and gently reached out to grasp Ang's hand. But then, she quickly changed the subject: "Are you scared?"

"Yes, I'm scared!" Ang didn't deny it: "A normal person would be scared when faced with a visitor from another world."

"I am human."

He assumed she didn't know.

She assumed he didn't know.

It's very interesting that both sides are subtly hiding something.

The tense atmosphere began to dissipate due to the positive actions of both sides.

After letting go, Ang asked, "May I sit closer?"

Diana gestured for her to proceed: "Yes, I won't hurt you."

This is no exaggeration; if she were to throw a punch, Ang might die.

Hey! Be more confident, and drop the word "maybe".

Ang carried a chair to the bedside and sat down: "Should I ask first, or you ask first?"

Diana quickly assessed their respective situations: "You go first, Mr. Ang."

"Miss Prince, where... are you from?"

"I think you already know." Diana's perception was very sharp.

"I know the general idea, but I'm not sure. The bronze armor you're wearing is an artifact to me. The Greeks used bronze armor more than two thousand years ago. And your attire looks exactly like that of an Amazon warrior from mythology..."

"Yes! I am an Amazon! I come from a place called Paradise Island. My homeland is besieged by the servants of Ares, the god of war, who are piloting huge metal warships and are about to destroy our home. I have crossed space to come here to ask for help," Diana said bluntly.

"A metal warship?" Ang pretended to take out his tablet and project it onto the screen in the room, which naturally drew an exclamation from Wonder Woman.

"These things...aren't real?"

"Uh, it's like a painting, uh, a high-class mural," Ang tried his best to explain.

She quickly accepted it all.

Ang opened a web search engine, searching from modern aircraft carriers to modern warships, and then, intentionally or unintentionally, stumbled upon German warships from World War I...

"Yes, yes, that's it! They're right outside Paradise Island, ready to invade our home. There are twelve..." Whether she was genuinely innocent or simply being clever, the Wonder Woman was testing Ang. She really did tell Ang a different 'Wonder Woman story'.

The Amazons are a race created by the Greek gods to end war and to redeem humanity with love. Unfortunately, they were later hated by Ares, the god of war, who launched the War of the Gods, killing almost all the gods except for Zeus, the king of the gods. In the final battle, Zeus defeated Ares and, with his last breath, created Paradise Island to protect the remaining Amazons.

The original "history" was that the male protagonist Steve, a spy, accidentally landed on Paradise Island while trying to expose the Germans' poison gas experiments. He was rescued by Diana, and the Amazons then discovered that Ares, the god of war, was causing trouble all over the world and starting World War I.

What now?

Perhaps in that world, World War I still occurred, only Ares found Paradise Island beforehand. Because the island was protected by Zeus's divine power, Ares and his apostles were unable to set foot on it. So he incited his subordinates to have the German navy, unaware of the truth, besiege Paradise Island.

Although Hippolyta, the mother of Diana, the Amazon queen, activated the island's magic circle, temporarily preventing the German army from landing, this came at the cost of draining the Amazons of their remaining divine power.

With only primitive bows and arrows and swords left, the Amazons faced a German army equipped with World War I guns and cannons. Outnumbered, the island of Paradise was undoubtedly in imminent danger.

Hippolyta activated the divine magic circle left by Zeus, allowing Diana to travel through time and space to a "land of destiny" to find help.

"This..." Ang was a little bewildered by this drastically altered version of the Wonder Woman story.

Diana's smile turned mysterious: "So, Mr. Ang, you have two choices for me, in my utter weakness: either kill me, which would please Ares and his followers; or help me find a hero who can fight against Ares, the god of war."

As Wonder Woman finished speaking, Ang's system reacted:

[The Choice of Fate Begins: The host can choose to kill Wonder Woman in her weakened state to please Ares, which may unlock the (God of War System); or the host can join Wonder Woman's side and obtain the (Godslayer System).]
