Chapter 299 The Berserker Werewolf

Drop drop drop...

As the walkie-talkie crackled with the sound of a signal being transmitted, Weiner's gaze remained fixed on Eve, who sat in the back row, separated by the iron fence.

The girl's well-behaved behavior did not make him lower his guard in the slightest; he knew that there were many inhuman monsters in the Eternal Night!

"Squeak squeak squeak... Agent Weiner... Please respond!"

Frowning, Weiner gently patted the walkie-talkie. He was puzzled as to why the walkie-talkie, an FBI communication device, would experience signal interference, especially since it was located in New York.

"Wener received! Over!"

"...An unidentified creature is approaching you. Please be on guard. In case of attack, please prioritize the mission! Reply upon receipt! Receive...buzz buzz—"

"Received! Over!"

Fake!

The crackling signal interference coming from the walkie-talkie startled Weiner, and a strong sense of foreboding arose within him.

Without hesitation, Weiner turned off the walkie-talkie and frantically glanced at the left and right car windows, looking out at the endless jungle. They were now heading towards a nearby FBI base, and this jungle seemed to be a natural barrier, as if hiding unknown dangers under the cover of night.

boom!

The more you fear something, the more likely it is to happen. With a muffled bang, a flash of light from an explosion appeared in front of the convoy.

The blazing flames were extremely conspicuous in the dark jungle.

"What exactly happened up ahead?"

Weiner rolled down the car window and roared.

"Sir! A civilian car has exploded ahead. Police officers have gone to investigate, and our road is blocked!"

A police officer quickly reported the situation, glancing at the location of the explosion every now and then, accompanied by shouts, indicating that the situation ahead was quite bad.

"Fuck! Those guys aren't planning on messing with the FBI, are they?"

The young agent sitting in the driver's seat looked terrified. As a junior colleague, he never expected that his first mission would involve such a scene!

"Don't make any sudden movements while sitting in the car!"

Weiner's face darkened, and he reprimanded softly. Then he opened the car door and strode towards the scene of the accident.

As he left, the car fell silent. The young detective occasionally glanced out the window at the dazzling flames ahead, while keeping an eye on the escort convoy behind him in the rearview mirror. He felt a little more relaxed.

Taking two deep breaths, the junior detective sat back down, licked his dry, cracked lips, and prayed for things to go smoothly.

"Awoo~"

A howl, like that of a wolf, suddenly came from outside the car, but the young detective smiled knowingly at the sound of this seemingly wild beast's roar.

If he encountered wolves alone, he might be a little scared, but now, here! There are so many police officers and FBI agents, even a pack of wolves would only empty half a magazine!

The silence inside the car gave him an eerie feeling, but the howling of the wolf made him relax. He looked in the rearview mirror and stared at the two police officers sitting behind him, as well as Eve, who was still sitting in the cage with her head down.

Everything seemed normal.

"Hey bro! Got a cigarette?"

Unable to resist asking, the young detective tried to find some topics to talk about.

"..."

However, the car remained silent. With a slight frown, the young detective glanced again at the two officers sitting upright in the rearview mirror.

"Hi?"

"Shit!"

I immediately realized something was wrong.

His heart pounded like a bellows, and the young detective instinctively unbuckled his seatbelt and reached for the holster beside him.

However, with a muffled crack, to his horrified gaze, the alloy-made iron cage was instantly twisted, and a pale hand reached out directly.

"Holy shit—HL…"

A gasp rang out, and the previously agitated vehicles instantly returned to calm.

……

pat, pat...

Weiner drew his pistol, pointed it at the ground, and looked around warily. He watched the police cars that were frantically sirens blaring, wondering what the officers who had come out and then returned to their cars were doing.

Just then, a police officer who had been running back in a panic returned to his car and shouted in a somewhat frightened manner.

"Sir! Get back in the car quickly! Something unusual is outside!"

The black police officer, sweating profusely, shouted loudly, his eyes scanning the surroundings, staring in horror at the dark woods outside, as if some unimaginable terror lurked within.

"Huh? Officer, what are you talking about?"

As he stepped forward, Weiner couldn't help but reprimand them, looking at the vehicles ahead that were frantically honking their sirens and trying to reverse.

"Officer, one of our men got out of the car to scout ahead, but they hadn't gone far when something rushed out of the woods and dragged them away! I saw it with my own eyes! God, that thing was at least two meters tall!"

"Officer 33321, stop spreading panic, or I will take action against you!"

With a sudden change in expression, Weiner pointed his gun directly at the black police officer, who frantically raised his hands and shut his mouth, his eyes still fixed on Weiner with fear.

Realizing the seriousness of the situation, he glanced at the car engulfed in flames not far ahead, then at the police officer who had climbed back into the car. He wouldn't believe it until he saw the monster the black officer had described.

Putting down his gun, Weiner loudly ordered the officers hiding in the car around him. With a gunshot, some officers with fearful expressions reluctantly got out of the car.

Their faces still showed lingering fear.

"Sir!"

A police officer tried to say something, but was interrupted by Weiner.

"We are all America's finest agents, yet you are all so fearful because of some dubious thing. Seeing is believing, and I'd like to see who dares to attack the FBI!"

The surrounding detectives and officers exchanged glances, then, at Weiner's command, they moved forward again.

Everyone drew their pistols, their eyes not on the burning vehicle, but circling around, even Weiner was no exception.

Although he questioned the Black police officer's words, he was not going to let his guard down, knowing that something unexpected might be going on.

oooo~

A long, drawn-out wolf howl echoed from the woods, and everyone's faces turned pale instantly. As people born in America, they were all familiar with American wolves, but the howls of wolves were far less loud and prolonged than the one they were hearing now.

This strange roar seemed to carry a kind of penetrating feeling, and Weiner felt a chill run down his spine.

He looked in a panic toward the direction from which the wolf howls came, and the next moment, he heard intense gunfire and piercing screams coming from the left flank of the group not far away.

The agents who had been gathered together scattered and fled, while one of them kept pulling the trigger, aiming at the dark jungle, clearly there was something there.

He strode forward, looking at the long trail of blood on the ground that disappeared into the woods. At that moment, Weiner finally realized that the police officer had not been joking!

"Fuck!"

Without hesitation, they headed back in the original direction. As if it were a signal, strange roars and howls came one after another from the woods. All the police officers rushed back to their vehicles in a panic, but it seemed to be too late.
