Chapter 82: The Prologue to the Doomsday War

After hearing about Loki's experiences in various worlds, Kratos said that he was in a good mental state and just wanted to have a good chat with his Atreus.

At the very least, the other party has to be a person.

The Amazonian warriors struggled to pull her out of the wall, and Diana, who had been beaten to the point of delirium, quickly recovered fully through the divinity within the Paradise Island's defenses after catching her breath.

Taking a deep breath, Diana also arrived at the cave where Kratos was living in seclusion. Unlike before, when she looked at Kratos, Diana's eyes held a hint of mockery and ridicule.

Now, looking at Kratos again, even a blind man could sense Diana's deep-seated fear and hesitation.

Although she was trapped inside the wall, Diana, being on Paradise Island, hadn't lost her cognitive abilities. She clearly heard Ron and Kratos's conversation. After hesitating for a moment, Diana sat down in a chair nearby and said:

"What you just said..."

"It's true, believe it or not. As for Kratos's power, you should have felt it," Ron said. "Besides, there's absolutely nothing wrong with your summoning. Because after Kratos killed Ares, he became the Greek god of war. Although the worlds are different, they possess the same divine power."

"And Kratos is also Zeus's child. You are also Zeus's child. Although not the same Zeus, how should I put it, you are indeed half-siblings."

"This is the first time I've ever heard of half-siblings being used like this... and even making it seem reasonable!" Mimir complained helplessly from the side.

"You'll get used to it eventually," Ciri said, sounding a little tired.

"Enough with this boring stuff," Kratos said in a deep voice. "So, what should we do next?"

In response, Ron said, "Before Superman arrives, let's enhance our individual powers as much as possible."

The following day, everyone began preparing for the final battle in their own way.

Kratos doesn't have much to say; he just keeps fighting Diana to warm up, to regain the feeling he had in Greece, and to stimulate the potential that has gradually accumulated in his body during his long period of peaceful life through the pressure from Diana.

Diana seemed to enjoy it immensely.

Diana in this world is different from Diana in other timelines. As a war lord who believes in Ares, Diana's desire for war, power, land, and fame is palpable.

Even her marriage to Aquaman was with the aim of gaining control of Atlantis.

Unfortunately, this very strength also led Diana to draw her sword without hesitation when faced with Mera's provocation. In the end, this resulted in Mera's tragic death and the outbreak of World War III.

However, Diana couldn't care less about such matters. In fact, war was a form of enjoyment for her. Even in the normal timeline, Diana would still crave intense battles; how much more so for a war lord who had already embraced Ares?

Now, fighting against the God of War from another world, Diana faces immense pressure, but even so, she is still happy to do it.

Ciri's enhancements continued as she familiarized herself with the use of the Ancient Blood while having a set of divine armor crafted for her by the artisans of Paradise Island.

These divine armors are not as good as those top-tier divine weapons, but they have been enchanted with the magic of Paradise Island and are empowered by powerful magic. Although they are far inferior to the rune longsword that Frigga personally strengthened, they are still top-tier compared to ordinary weapons.

Meanwhile, Ron was spending time with Mimir.

Ron was incredibly curious about Mimir, the god of wisdom from the Norse pantheon. This wasn't just because of Mimir's extensive knowledge of the secrets of the Nine Realms, but more importantly, because as a god of wisdom, Mimir also possessed profound insights into arcane powers.

"Is it really possible to open world gates at will, without requiring any energy input, and travel freely between them?"

Mimir looked quite surprised as he saw the blood vial in Ron's hand, which contained the secret power of ancient blood.

"The barriers between worlds are incredibly strong. Kratos was only able to enter the Norse world because the Greek gods died, the rules withered, and the barriers between worlds became incredibly weak."

"Even so, traveling between worlds requires ample preparation and luck. This thing called Ancient Blood is just too..."

"Then you don't know their world is called the Wild Hunt."

Ron gave a brief explanation of the Wild Hunt. Hearing that the Wild Hunt could not only travel between worlds but also plunder with impunity, even Mimir couldn't help but feel a sense of awe.

"No wonder that world of that little girl named Ciri gave birth to such a wondrous arcane crystal as White Frost... Although I'm not entirely sure, judging from its appearance, White Frost might also be part of an antivirus program, existing solely to eliminate these evil conquerors?"

"You know what, it's actually quite possible."

Upon hearing this, Ron nodded seriously and guessed, "It's a pity that in the end, Frostbea became a weapon for the Wild Hunt. Thinking about it this way, maybe the higher-ups saw that Frostbea was really useless, which is why they created my current department."

"It feels a bit like a makeshift operation."

"If you say that again, I'm going to try and see if I can get any gold coins."

During the conversation, Ron also took out Ciri's rune sword.

When Mimir first saw Ciri's runic longsword, he didn't think much of it. But as Ron poured arcane energy into it, and the runes shining on the blade seemed to sense something, a look of surprise appeared in Mimir's eyes.

"This sword..."

"An Asgardian longsword blessed by the goddess Frigga."

Ron explained, "However, this Queen Frigga is not the Valkyrie Queen from your world, but Queen Frigga from another world. If there's anything in common, it's that they are both mages and both are Odin's wives."

"It's just that this Queen Frigga and Odin have a very good relationship and haven't gotten a divorce. Odin is also very responsible."

Ron remembered that when the celestial spheres first met, Odin helped prevent them from disrupting the shape of the universe.

While Asgard might have suffered severe consequences had Odin not intervened, the fact remains that he helped, and we should still express our gratitude.

What? You're asking me for payment?

Never mind, my department is newly established and I don't have a penny to my name. Go left out the door and turn left at Kamar-Taj to find the Ancient One; that guy is the real big spender.

"Of course, although the Odin of the Base world seems alright now, he wasn't much better thousands of years ago. He led the Asgardian army on conquests across the universe, killing countless people. Later, he went from conquering to ruling, and that's when he gradually became more refined and easygoing."

After hearing about Odin's actions in that world, Mimir nodded thoughtfully and then said:

"That sounds good. As a leader, his first responsibility should be to the tribe. A transition from conquest to rule necessitates some necessary changes."

After a pause, Mimir asked curiously, "Speaking of which, what is this celestial conjunction that requires Odin's intervention? It seems to be related to Kratos's arrival in this world?"

"..." Beside her, Ciri's lips twitched silently as she studied the connection between arcane power and ancient blood.

Ron stared at Ciri for a moment, then said, "I don't like to desecrate corpses."

You're already mocking a dead body the moment you say that!

Ciri thought to herself, but her expression remained unchanged. Perhaps Ciri had finally realized that if you paid attention to Ron, you'd never be able to get away with it.

Although he didn't understand the situation, Mimir could roughly guess that it was related to the girl beside him who possessed ancient blood. Seeing the resistance on Ciri's face, Mimir didn't try to press her for details, but instead said:

"If it's magic... well, the kind of arcane energy you mentioned, I do have some insights into that."

Upon hearing Mimir's words, Ron collected his thoughts, quickly entered hunter mode, began analyzing the ancient blood, and prepared to perform blood healing.

Ron hadn't undergone blood healing for quite some time—initially, it was used to cure incurable diseases like brain tumors and lung cancer. However, with each treatment, the soul within the blood led to the development of beast-like diseases. Meanwhile, the hunters were passively evolving while battling their instincts.

For veteran hunters of Ron's caliber, blood healing is no longer necessary. Ordinary beast blood simply cannot affect Ron and provides little energy for recovery.

But Ciri's blood is different—primarily ancient blood. Even in the infinite multiverse, the ability to open world gates at will according to the wielder's will is incredibly rare. And more importantly, this ability is unaffected by causality, allowing her to freely travel through timelines.

After completing the blood healing and feeling the mystical energy flowing through his body, Ron's eyes also revealed a large number of mystical energy patterns.

"It seems I need some time to process this."

"Yes, it will take some time to digest this energy."

Amidst intensive preparations, the remaining settlements on Earth began working on the final battle.

At least, it's not utter despair—as long as victory is achieved and enough sacrifices are made in the battle, both good and bad can have more possibilities to break free from this world on the verge of destruction, go to other worlds, and live the life they want.

Perhaps other worlds aren't much better, but from another perspective, they're certainly not worse than this one.

Faced with the pressure of survival, human desires are so easily satisfied.

A week later, Ron emerged from the dark cave. Feeling the power of the ancient blood within him, which had merged with his very essence, Ron nodded in satisfaction.

There was no change in appearance. Although it sounded strange, the Ancient Blood was even more powerful than most of the power that Ron possessed. If we were to rank them by strength, then apart from the broken origin of the God of Rebirth within him, the highest level of power that Ron possessed was the Ancient Blood.

This power isn't about raw strength, but rather the power of arcane abilities. To put it more simply, Ron may not be able to defeat the Ancient One now, but through the Ancient Blood, his understanding of space and time is comparable to, or even surpasses, that of the Ancient One.

This is the confidence that the ancient blood gives me!

In comparison, strength is merely the most insignificant thing gained in this process...

as well as……

"Although I may say that my strength is insignificant, in the end, it all comes down to fists. As for self-cultivation, I'll think about that when I'm financially independent."

With that in mind, Ron also carried Mimir outside and tossed him to Kratos, who had already finished warming up.

But this time, Kratos did not wear Mimir's headband. After a moment's thought, he even removed his wife's ashes and placed them beside Mimir's head.

"If what Ron and this kid called Flash are saying is true, then that guy named Kal-El will be a troublesome enemy. I can't guarantee I can protect the others during the fight."

"Then at least find me somewhere else," Mimir said. "Somewhere higher, somewhere safer. At least I can see the battlefield...tsk tsk, this is the first time I've seen a war of gods outside of Norse mythology, and you're one of the participants. To see something like this, in human terms, it's worth dying for!"

Rather than saying Kratos was among the participants, Mimir would have preferred to say that the souls of Sparta were also among them. However, considering Kratos's feelings, Mimir wisely chose a more tactful way of expressing it.

Then, Ciri glanced at the time and opened the Gate to the World. Located in Metropolis, Thomas, fully armed and wearing a doomsday suit with Cyborg as the main AI, passed through the Gate to Paradise Island.

Along with them filed in, the remaining superhumans, superheroes, and even supervillains from all over the world also entered. Thomas said coldly:

"According to the remaining surveillance satellites, that guy called Superman has finished charging, moved away from the sun, and begun to approach Earth."
