Chapter 55 - Don't interrupt Dad!

Having resolved the issue of the celestial conjunction, the Ancient One limped back to New York with everyone.

In fact, the celestial conjunction wasn't truly resolved. Sure enough, upon returning to the rooftop of Stark Industries in New York, Ron and his crew saw a massive blue object hanging in the previously dark sky. Like a mirror, through the armor's magnification system, Tony could even see the lights of countless homes on the opposite planet.

"This time, things have really gotten out of hand."

Looking at Earth on the other side, Tony said incredulously, "While I do think these things can be summarized scientifically... can someone please tell me, is this a dream?"

"Why don't you check if you still feel phantom pain in your buttocks and see?"

Touching his chin, Ron also surveyed the sky, which was a string of planets.

Although it's called a celestial convergence, how should I put it? Its outward appearance seems more like DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths. However, compared to Infinite Earths, the celestial convergence here is much gentler; it's simply the intertwining of multiple universes and worlds under different rules.

In a normal universe, it might have already exploded due to the conflict of rules. But the trash can universe is clearly different. At least, Eternity seems to be enjoying... the feeling of being reborn from a lifeless future, his body filled with the concepts of multiple universes.

Waaah, there's no going back now. It's completely transformed into a multiverse composite.

Although the crises of the Wild Hunt and the conjunction of the celestial spheres have been averted, the cold won't subside anytime soon. At least, according to Ron's estimate, the temperature in New York won't truly end for at least three more days.

"In short, let's all go back to our own homes and find our own mothers. At least for the time being, the two worlds won't be communicating."

Upon hearing this, Tony couldn't help but point to the sky and say, "Are you sure? Look up there, I feel like any random intercontinental ballistic missile could hit the other planet."

"Fake."

Ron said, "The universes are not completely integrated yet; at most, they are embedded in our universe. The walls between worlds still exist. Although they seem close at hand, the distance between them is measured in the diameter of the universe. If you really wanted to fly there in a plane, it would be like trying to run a mountain to death. Even if you burned the entire Earth, the energy converted wouldn't be enough to cover half the distance."

After a pause, Ron glanced at Ciri and said, "Of course, if there's a World Gate, that's a different story."

Ancient Blood can open world portals, and unlike any teleportation spell, the Ancient Blood's world portals ignore space, time, and even causality. They also require no additional energy; a single thought is all it takes to travel to the desired world.

If there were no coordinates before, now, the seemingly vast distance between Earth and Earth in these two worlds is equivalent to having their coordinates revealed to Ciri. The immense distance would make it impossible for an ordinary person to reach the other side in their entire life, but in the setting of the World Gate, there is no concept of distance. With just a thought, Ciri can bring back a bunch of local specialties from the other side.

"Let's forget about it."

Ciri shook her head wearily. For this girl who had high moral standards and a strong sense of justice, this series of events was simply unbearable.

"I only came into this world and caused such a series of disasters. If I were to travel to other worlds again so casually... I will not use this ability carelessly until I have fully mastered it."

"Agreed."

Tony, standing nearby, nodded seriously, rubbing his backside as he said, "Who knows what kind of germs the other world might have that our world doesn't, or vice versa. To avoid causing a mass extinction if we go there, I think we should choose a safer approach..."

"Hey, why is our genius Tony suddenly so conservative?"

Ron chuckled and said, "Isn't your personality supposed to be like learning to fly before you can walk? How come you're suddenly so mature and composed?"

Even the most mature and composed person would feel bewildered when faced with this kind of problem.

Hearing Ron's teasing, Tony had no intention of arguing back. He simply took a still-intact bottle of beer from the shattered liquor cabinet, sat on the sofa, and weakly chugged it down, saying:

"I've imagined many ways I could be cursed by knowledge, but I never expected it to happen like this... Shit! By the way, is there any way to erase memories? I feel like the images in my memories are raping my brilliant brain!"

"Actually, the main fear is that the memories in your brain might trigger certain switches in your body, right? After all, the eternal physical sensations have been manifested in your bodies."

As he spoke, Ron looked up at Geralt on the other side of the sofa and called out, "Geralt! If there's nothing else, we're leaving!"

"Oh, here it comes."

As he spoke, Geralt also got up and walked over, saying as he went, "I plan to bring Yennefer over first. She's a sorcerer, so she might adapt to life here faster than the old man and be able to provide us with more help."

It wasn't addressed to Ron, but to Ciri. Ciri nodded in understanding.

While Vesemir is the oldest Witcher in the Wolf School, his strength is actually inferior to Geralt's. Firstly, Geralt possesses Druidic blood, allowing him to use signs with lower energy consumption and greater power. Secondly, Witchers inevitably age; although his lifespan far exceeds that of ordinary people, he is already nearly three hundred years old.

Considering that they will be traveling to other worlds to carry out missions in the future, it is indeed the best choice for the team to have a powerful sorcerer like Yennefer with a good reputation.

In addition, he can also teach Geralt how to cast spells, thereby maximizing the use of his druidic bloodline to enhance his combat power.

Geralt hadn't considered anything like this before, but after experiencing these things, he clearly felt that his abilities were no longer keeping up with the current version's power level.

While being a Ciri summoner might be nice, Geralt has no intention of holding his daughter back.

Witchers cast spells quickly using signs, without much understanding of the magic's composition, and they omit the incantation process that enhances the magic's power... Geralt thought to himself, "Let's change it little by little."

I'm only in my nineties, which is still considered young among witchers. Learning some new technologies shouldn't be difficult.

The only thing that made Geralt hesitate...

After a moment of silence, Geralt rubbed his temples and said to Ron with a helpless expression, "How did you know all of Yennefer's habits? I didn't know any of those details..."

"So you're a rough, smelly man~"

Ron waved his hand, a grin on his face, and said, "She'll be here soon, why don't you ask her yourself?"

"Even though she loves me, if I ask her that, she'll definitely slap me..." Geralt sighed helplessly and looked at Ciri: "Hopefully, Ciri, you can stop her a little..."

"What are you stopping me for? I don't understand."

Ciri looked completely bewildered, having no idea what Ron and Geralt were talking about.

Shaking her head, Ciri asked, "Enough with the small talk, let's go back first. I'm also planning to buy some things, like armor."

"Use your abilities," Ron said. "You don't need to go back. Just open the World Gate and head straight to the base. You know the base's coordinates."

"But……"

"There's no 'but' about it; this is something we'll have to figure out sooner or later. If you're afraid now, you'll be even more afraid later."

"……All right."

With a sigh, Ciri carefully opened the portal to the world. After confirming that the other side was indeed a hospital, she breathed a sigh of relief and signaled Ron and the others to follow. Then, the group officially went home.

On the empty Stark Industries building, looking at the top floor where he was suddenly all alone, Tony took a swig of wine with a sad expression—as expected, they've already forgotten about me?

And, I wish I could forget those images in my head like they do.

Although I was prepared to be cursed by knowledge, this knowledge is just too disgusting...

Although a little nervous, Ciri handled the short-distance world portal with ease. She felt no discomfort whatsoever, not even the weightlessness and dizziness that occurred when the Infinite City opened and closed. Arriving at the hospital entrance, Ron was somewhat surprised to see some Wild Hunt stragglers lurking there.

Ron wasn't too surprised that some creatures had slipped through the Wild Hunt's net. The Infinite City's mass teleportation had its limits; under unrestrained, complete release, it could roughly encompass all living things within a ten-kilometer radius.

However, the more items included, the lower the accuracy. In other words, ordinary Wild Hunt knights haven't mastered teleportation magic. If they had all mastered it, like Kamar-Taj where everyone has a teleportation book, then even Ron would need to concentrate on locking onto each one individually before he could transfer them to the Infinite City.

However, if the opponent is someone of the Ancient One's level or even slightly weaker, it would be almost impossible to forcibly absorb them into the Infinity City.

While spatial abilities are powerful, if the opponent understands the underlying principles, they don't even need to possess great strength; they can simply use the inherent properties of space to defend themselves.

This led to some Wild Hunt knights taking the opportunity to escape during the unfolding of the Infinite City, thus avoiding the purge by Eredin's roar and the tragic fate of being captured and brought to Ron Park.

Right now, several Wild Hunt Knights are attacking the hospital.

No, calling it a hospital isn't accurate. They were actually attacking refugees who happened to be hiding inside the hospital's protective barrier and using it to fight back.

"Dad! Are you done yet? I can't hold on any longer!"

He ducked to dodge the Wild Hunt knights' diving slash, then leaped up and kicked one of them away. He then grabbed a folding stool and delivered a vicious blow to the head of a Wild Hunt knight who was trying to ambush him from behind.

Although some of them had been dealt with, these heavily armored Wild Hunt knights were clearly unharmed. After a short rest, they prepared to launch another attack, leaving the black-haired youth fighting them filled with despair.

"And what exactly are these guys? Aren't the Shadow Legion all ninjas? Why are there knights now?!"

"Jackie Chan, how many times have I told you, don't disturb your father's spellcasting at a time like this!"

Upon hearing Jackie Chan's words, the old man, who called himself "Old Man," held a dried pufferfish and a dried lizard in his hands. He muttered in a mystical manner, "There's a ready-made spell here. I've basically figured it out. Just wait a moment, demons and monsters, leave quickly, demons and monsters, leave quickly..."

As he spoke, the old man began chanting a simple and easy-to-understand incantation. With the chanting, the energy of the Qi magic emanated from the old man's dantian, then flowed into his arm, illuminating the pufferfish and lizard, which emitted a hazy green glow.

Then, these eerie lights connected with the cotton in the mental hospital—no, not cotton, but the underlying spells composed of Nakime's blood. If the cotton was the main body of the barrier, then these blood spells were the foundation, used to maintain and operate the Cotton Fried Chicken Watermelon Grape Soda Array.

Now, by channeling the blood magic separately and combining it with his own qi magic, the emerald green light quickly spread throughout the entire spell, enveloping the entire mental hospital.

Jackie Chan finally breathed a sigh of relief as he watched the Wild Hunt Knights relentlessly slash at the green light barrier, yet remain unable to budge it an inch. He then put down the stool he was holding.

Wiping the sweat from his brow, Jackie Chan asked with a puzzled look, "What are these things? They don't look like they come from this era at all."

"Dad's thinking about that too," Dad said. "These guys have an aura from other worlds on them, which should be related to those extra planets in the sky."

"But compared to this, when did Hell's Kitchen acquire such a technique?"

Upon hearing this, Jackie Chan asked curiously, "Is this technique very powerful? Isn't it just some cotton trees and fried chicken wrappers?"

Before Jackie Chan could finish speaking, his father tapped him on the head with his finger and said, "Never doubt your father's words!"

As he spoke, the old man bent down, pointing the dried pufferfish in his hand at the incantation, and said:

"Although they are all the most common items, such as cotton, watermelon, fried chicken, and soda, in mysticism, the market value of a spellcasting item has nothing to do with the performance that can be obtained from casting a spell."

"The most important aspect of constructing a spell that influences consciousness is the symbolism of the object itself. In different contexts, different objects are given different meanings. Although these things are very common, the entire spell is very complete, and it makes the maximum use of the extension of symbolic meaning. I wonder which master created it!"
