Chapter 45 We Marvel Also Need Our Own Foundation 4
Chapter 45: We Marvel Also Need Our Own Foundation (Part 4)
Ron stayed in Asgard for about three days. If it weren't for the system's notification, he might have stayed in Asgard even longer.
[An invasion route for the Witcher world "Wild Hunt" has been detected. 48 hours remain until the Wild Hunt's arrival.]
Upon seeing the message, Ron tallied up his spoils, then put away the Frost and said, "Then I'll be leaving now."
While researching the white frost, Frigga was in a state of heightened curiosity when Ron suddenly decided to leave. Recalling Ron's expression earlier, which seemed to indicate that he had noticed something, Frigga quickly realized that this was related to the "special event" that her husband and the Ancient One were dealing with.
Without stopping him, Frigga watched as Ron prepared to take White Frost away. After a moment's hesitation, she asked, "Before you leave, are you interested in exchanging something?"
"Um?"
Startled, Ron said, "White Frost?"
"Yes, I am very interested in the properties of White Frost. Its absolute constant temperature, which absorbs all heat and warmth, is a rare property that only a very few cosmic treasures can possess, even among mystical substances."
"Of course, in fact, I'm also very interested in Uru metal from Asgard."
They exchanged a knowing smile. When Ron left, he had already given two-thirds of the White Frost in his hand to Frigga. In return, Ron received a large amount of Uru metal ore to be refined, an Uru metal ornament, and three Asgardian war swords forged primarily from Uru metal.
Two of the three swords are broadswords, and one is a two-handed greatsword. All three swords are inscribed with runes by the Queen of Asgard herself. Although they cannot compare to Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor, which is blessed by Odin and has a dying star as its core, they are still among the top-ranking divine weapons in the entire Asgard.
Without taking any money, Ron gave the three swords directly to Geralt and Ciri.
"No need to refuse. White Frost is a product of your world. I used it to exchange with Frigga, and you should also have your share."
Upon hearing this, Gerald nodded and did not refuse.
Although Ron is often unreliable, especially when his wicked sense of humor kicks in, and every pore of his body seems to be dripping with dark, mischievous water, he is fair and impartial when it comes to official business and the distribution of credit... or rather, he is very considerate of others.
Thinking it over, Geralt glanced at the three swords in front of him and suggested, "There are three swords here, why don't we each take one?"
As he spoke, Geralt picked up one of the broadswords and twirled it in a dazzling display. Although no magic was infused into it, the cosmic energy automatically drawn from the void by the runes created several invisible blades of energy swirling around him. It's no exaggeration to say that even if there were a dragon before him, Geralt was confident he could pierce its heart with a single strike—provided the dragon didn't resist, attack, move, or dodge.
The principle of attacking high and defending low applies here.
Geralt greatly admired these rune swords, both for their feel and power. Uru metal, in particular, was unlike any other metal; it possessed immense magical damage while also being incredibly hard. This meant that in the future, when facing ferocious enemies, Geralt wouldn't need to consider whether to use a steel sword or a silver one.
The unique properties of Uru metal allow it to meet almost all the needs that a Witcher might have to consider.
"Using this weapon requires orthodox arcane specialization, which is not relevant to me. If you don't want it, give it to Ciri."
Upon hearing this, Geralt turned to look, and Ciri also glanced at Geralt, coughed lightly, and then slashed out with her sword. Immediately afterward, accompanied by the power of the runes, a long and narrow wind blade shot out and cut a small tree about the size of a bowl in half from a distance of several meters.
"what?"
Seeing his daughter suddenly become so fierce, Geralt looked bewildered. Cutting down a small tree as thick as a bowl was easy for Geralt. But cutting it down from a distance of several meters?
"Face reality, gay camel." Ron patted Geralt on the shoulder and said with a sigh:
"Although you are experienced and have druidic blood, which allows you to become a powerful melee mage, and coupled with your superb swordsmanship, your potential is considerable. However, Ciri's ancient blood is that of the Ain Elf race, the Wild Hunt's hope for tearing open rifts in spacetime, cultivated specifically for their survival."
"This is nothing! Ciri hasn't even grasped the essence of the Ancient Blood yet. Once she does, a casual strike will be a space-time slash. Ryoumen Sukuna will be screaming 'Holy crap!' and Gojo Satoru will be declaring her invincible. You?"
Stroking his chin, Ron offered a candid suggestion: "Although you're a Level 2 employee in our department, I advise you not to be ungrateful and to obediently act as Ciri's summoner. That way, when Ciri also becomes a Level 2, she can help you out..."
"Dean, you don't need to put it that way..."
Ciri, standing to the side, didn't know what to say for a moment. She could only sigh silently in her heart. Sister Mi Niang was right. The Dean wasn't bad to his people when it came to important matters, but his mental state when it came to trivial things was indeed... well, quite unpredictable.
"Alright, enough chit-chat, let's get going," Ron said.
"If you don't need it, give it to Ciri. She can study it at Kamar-Taj later. I'm not bragging, but even in the vast multiverse, the Ancient One's understanding of space and time in our world is top-notch. However, it's best not to get involved in dimensional magic; that stuff always comes at a price. Most people don't have an entire sorcerer group like the Ancient One to pay the price for them, or they might even just take it and not give it back."
Ron wasn't sure about the Ancient One in other worlds, but the Ancient One in the Trash Can Universe was definitely no saint. At least, Ron was certain that if the dimensional daemons, the sources of those dimensional magic, dared to demand an exorbitant amount from the Ancient One, she would be willing to fight them, and even help that dimension find a more obedient master.
Although this might provoke the wrath of the dimensional demons, both sides are aware of the gravity of the matter, and the use and the cost are likely maintaining a delicate balance.
Something like a market economy?
Ron didn't understand economics, so he didn't think about it in depth. He simply came to the Rainbow Bridge again and greeted Heimdall.
Hi, long time no see.
"Hmm." Heimdall nodded meticulously and said, "I have received the Queen's orders. I will now escort you back to the Midgard."
"Okay, thank you for your help. By the way, how's the food where I'm from?"
"Very good. If possible, please bring me some next time." Heimdall nodded and said, "I will pay you."
"Sure thing~"
Without lingering for long, Ron was soon ready to step into the rapids of the Rainbow Bridge.
This time, however, Ron did not choose to return to Kamar-Taj, nor did he choose to land directly in New York. Instead, he chose the Arctic Circle.
Upon hearing Ron's request, Heimdall had no doubts and, after quickly confirming the approximate location, activated the Rainbow Bridge.
A flash of light, and soon after, a gust of cold wind made Geralt, who was not yet prepared, shiver.
Asgard, with its year-round spring-like climate, was suddenly transported to the Arctic Circle, where temperatures are consistently below freezing. Even Ciri, let alone Geralt, couldn't help but shiver. However, having already learned a basic use of magic, or rather, arcane power, Ciri quickly set up a spell to insulate herself and Geralt from the cold.
As for Ron, forget about him. Although there wasn't a trace of arcane energy emanating from him, Ciri didn't intend to...
"Why didn't you isolate me too?"
"Huh?" Ciri was taken aback and didn't know what to say for a moment.
Not to mention that even under such temperature changes, Ron's body surface showed no physiological reaction whatsoever. The fact that Ron was able to become immune to the frost for a short time after touching it with his palms already proved that this kind of pure natural cold weather could not have any effect on Ron at all.
"I have to say, you guys still lack workplace wisdom." Ron shook his head, expressing his disappointment, and clapped his hands, calling out, "Nekome!"
Shivering, she crawled out of the Infinite Castle and appeared in the North Pole. Nakime even felt the air around her was warm. Without saying much, she took out a robe and draped it over Ron's shoulders.
It's getting cold, put on another layer of clothing.
"See? Need I say more about helping the boss with his clothes and lighting his cigarette? No need to spell it out, any workplace elite would be eager to do it."
"..."
Ciri and Geralt were momentarily at a loss for words.
Extending her hand, Nakime placed the Uru metal trinket she had exchanged for White Frost into Ron's palm.
He waved his hand, signaling Nakime to go back. Seeing this, Nakime took a deep breath, stretched her body a few times to warm herself up as much as possible, and then shivered as she returned to the Infinite City, which had been transformed into a vast ice and snow world by the white frost.
Your next "hypers" may not necessarily be a "hyper" person, or even a human being.
Although it looks like just a small gemstone-shaped ornament, it is a tool forged primarily from Uru metal and was traded to Ron, so it naturally has its own uses.
To be honest, it's not very useful. When actively activated, it can generate a small energy field for defense. However, this level of defense is neither particularly useful nor worth discarding for Ron. Its primary function is to create an energy perception spell based on runes.
If I remember correctly, the American plane crashed in the Arctic Ocean within the Arctic Circle.
Since the modification of Matt, Matt has consistently provided Ron with four points of System Coins, which have become more vibrant due to the changes in the timeline.
This is just Matt Damon, who's not exactly a household name in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he's already earned four dollars in this short time. While it might sound like a small amount, an A-level mission only pays around fifty dollars! If there were ten Matts, that would be forty dollars!
As for Captain Butt, who is on par with Big Poop in the cinematic universe, he should be able to make at least five dollars in the same amount of time, right?
Even if the marginal utility diminishes at the edge, this is still a very considerable amount of extra income!
"You guys wait on the shore first, I'll go for a swim, and if I get bored I can go fishing."
"OK."
Watching Ron plunge into the icy waters of the Arctic Ocean, Ciri wondered why he had asked Nakime to help him put on his coat. However, reason prevented Ciri from complaining too much. Instead, she and Geralt found a relatively flat spot and took out their newly acquired rune swords from their system space to familiarize themselves with them.
Meanwhile, in the deep sea, Ron glanced at the arcane energy sensor in his hand, determined where the arcane energy fluctuations were strongest, and swam over without saying a word.
These arcane energy fluctuations are extremely weak, only detectable in close proximity. Although extraterrestrial civilizations possess far more powerful energy sensing systems, most are simply unable to breach the arcane energy barriers erected by the sorcerers led by the Ancient One. And those civilizations capable of forcibly penetrating these barriers haven't risked a confrontation with the Ancient One to plunder Earth.
Those interstellar empires are vast and powerful; to them, Earth is merely a poor, remote place protected by strong individuals. There's really no need to plunder it. If they really push them too far, the Ancient One, with nothing to lose, will gather a few dimensional demon comrades to negotiate a price, then slice the interstellar fleet into pieces, taking nothing but scraps. In the end, it's hard to say who will cede territory, pay reparations, and cover the appearance fees of these comrades.
And those capable of overturning Ancient One or even the entire Earth...
Odin, unleashing his full power without regard for anything else, might have a chance? But if Odin were really that reckless, according to Earth's rumors, Loki wouldn't have been killed.
Yes, for the Asgardians, Midgard, which is the Norse mythology of Earth, is undoubtedly a piece of unofficial history.
Wild enough, shit enough.
After swimming underwater for more than three hours, I caught some krill and popped them into my mouth before the world was contaminated with nuclear wastewater—hmm, Xuan!
After passing another large floating island, Ron discovered the wreckage of a Hydra aircraft.
Centered on the plane wreckage, Ron conducted a large-scale search and soon unearthed the vibranium shield, the Tesseract, and Captain Buttocks hidden in the ice.
After staring at the ice cube for a while, Ron couldn't help but marvel at Tony's good fortune. No wonder he was nicknamed "Big Poop" (meaning "shit-sized"), expanding it did indeed make bowel movements smoother.
These glutes and hamstrings, whether they're thick breasts or thick calves, are highly sought after in the male BL world, truly deserving of being the top dog in the Marvel BL universe.
Once we get together, we can arrange a meeting between Shield, Iron Man, Hammer, and Loki, and then we can figure out a way to have them debut as an idol group. As the national producer, Ron has already thought of a name for the group: just copy the name from the other universe, Loki's Four. Not only does it match the number of members, but they even come with their own hammers to scatter them.
So here's the question: would Nick Fury's portrayal of the second male lead be a mismatch?
