Chapter 336 - The Upside-Down Tree Pattern

Looking at Ron, Liana's gaze was filled with indifference.

As the queen of the frontier, Liana's abilities are significantly enhanced whenever she is in Hell. To put it bluntly, even if she cannot defeat her enemies in this state, she can still force a stalemate by relying on the unique characteristics of the dimension, thus maintaining her invincibility.

Now, although Liana didn't know why Ron was here, she could sense that he didn't pose any real threat. He might be capable in other worlds, but this was her home turf, and Liana didn't believe Ron could defeat her.

Although a member of the Negative Multiverse, Liana isn't entirely a mindless killer. While she sometimes comes across as morally ambiguous in the story, she mostly appears as a positive character in the X-Men. Like now, seeing the relaxation in Ron's expression, and wanting to teach this ungrateful guy a lesson, Liana waved her finger and said:

"Let me teach you what the rules of the Hell Dimension are."

As they spoke, the previously unremarkable surroundings were suddenly enveloped in shadow. In the distance, the sky reflected the image of a volcano spewing lava. One after another, hideous demons emerged from the shadows, their bodies emanating a nauseating stench of sulfur.

"roar!!"

One after another, hellish demons appeared and then, at Liana's command, pounced on Ron.

Looking at Liana's familiars, Ron gave a rather bored, awkward yet polite smile. Then, with a wave of his hand, the Gates of Helheim opened, and the German-equipped Amazon warriors led by Warlord Diana immediately rushed out. Each one, clad in champion's helmets, chuckled strangely as they swiftly chopped the hellish imps into pieces.

After finishing, they stood there, staring at Liana with hostile expressions. Although they didn't speak, judging from the way they were licking their knives, they were clearly ready for battle—perhaps all it would take was for the guy behind them to give the order, and they would pounce on her one after another like hyenas and tear her apart.

Faced with the menacing pack of Amazonian she-wolves, Liana hesitated for a moment before reluctantly drawing her trump card, the Soul Blade. With a surge of soul power, the divine sword in Liana's hand emitted a golden light. However, looking at the group before her, Liana was unsure whether to attack. Each of these warriors seemed formidable.

And Ron? After watching for a while, he clapped his hands. Seeing this, the Amazon warriors exchanged glances, then stood up indifferently, shrugged, and turned to leave one after another.

Having worked for Ron for so long, the Amazon warriors have learned their lesson. Well, there's no need to talk about Warlord Diana; she's obsessed with war and practically impossible to communicate with. But she's easy to use, so Ron doesn't bother with her. These warriors, however, are different. They learned to read people's expressions early on. After all, in Helheim, reading people is just as important as combat skills—only when facing Ron.

Being able to light cigarettes promptly is a great skill.

Seeing Ron suddenly dismiss everyone else, Liana blinked and tentatively asked, "Uh... who are you?"

"Ron." Ron gave a peace sign, then said, "I'm new to this world too, and I happen to need a guide. How about it? Interested in introducing me?"

"Just arrived in this world?" Liana blinked, somewhat confused by Ron's words. After all, the universe of the Upside-Down Tree was far too chaotic. If one had to put it in perspective, those world ruins piled up in the vacuum of space were worlds of varying sizes, or fragments of dimensions.

"To be precise, I come from the positive multiverse." Ron revealed the ostentatious expression characteristic of a leader within the system, looking at Liana with a haughty and slightly mocking air. "Of course, if you wish, you can also call me World Tree Lord."

"What are you talking about?" Liana frowned, gripping her blade tightly. "But whoever you are, it won't be that easy for you to make me submit!"

Liana's will was unwavering. Unfortunately, sheer willpower alone might not be very effective in many situations.

Just like now, before Liana could finish speaking, Ron's figure suddenly disappeared and then suddenly reappeared in front of Liana.

In an instant, Liana's expression changed drastically, and without hesitation, she activated her mutant ability to teleport. As the boundaries of space were shattered in that instant, when Liana regained her senses, she found herself on the other side of the border of hell.

What Liana couldn't accept was that while her own people had come, the sword in her hand hadn't followed. Instead, it had simply fallen into the hands of some unknown man.

Instead of gripping the hilt, Ron was pinching the blade of Soul Blade between his fingers, looking at it from left to right.

Liana's character design in X-Men is somewhat similar to Nightcrawler in some aspects.

However, unlike Nightcrawler, Liana is still quite popular. After all, while Nightcrawler's teleportation seems impressive, it's a fairly common and powerful ability within the superpower system. Especially since Nightcrawler's character design isn't particularly likable.

Liana, on the other hand, is always a stunningly beautiful superpowered woman. Because of her magical abilities, she can conjure magical armor with horns, hooves, a tail, and scales to deflect or weaken physical and magical attacks in battle. From any perspective, she's a superior alternative to the Nightcrawler—

In particular, the hot girl can turn spatial teleportation into a portal. In the story, she even teams up with Cyclops to use the portal to split laser beams into multiple beams for a large-scale area-of-effect attack.

The Soul Blade is also quite effective, possessing a literal, upgradeable power. It was created by Liana through meditation on the border of Hell, using her own soul to conjure a Soul Blade. Besides the previously mentioned magical creature-specific attack—making any scratch fatal to magical creatures—its power increases with each use.

"Sounds impressive, but unfortunately this isn't a game. No matter how high the numbers are, it's useless; a single sentence can erase them."

After playing with the Soul Blade for a while, Ron, feeling rather bored, tossed it to Liana. Although still unaware of what had happened, Liana, seeing her weapon returned, eagerly took the sword. After a moment's hesitation, she deactivated the Soul Blade and turned to Ron, asking, "What...what is your purpose in coming here?"

“Actually, I’ve been thinking about this too, so I wanted to ask you,” Ron said. “What exactly is going on in this world? I’m not referring to this so-called Hell’s Edge, but the whole world outside.”

As he spoke, Ron snapped his fingers. The Gates of Helheim opened, unleashing a torrent of arcane energy that instantly filled the borders of Hell. Within this realm, Liana could sense she was still on the borders of Hell, but it felt like she was in another world entirely. Despite being the master of this dimension, she was powerless to forcefully suppress her enemies using its power.

"Because this is not your dimension," Ron said. "Although you are the master of this dimension, you do not possess the dimensional heart of this dimension. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to open Helheim after entering your dimension."

"But this doesn't seem to be your fault, since these worlds outside don't have any so-called dimensional hearts."

As they spoke, the borders of Hell's Frontier, filled with Helheim's arcane energy, began to crumble, eventually transforming into translucent, glass-like membranes. While their strength remained unchanged, the outside world could be easily glimpsed through them.

Surrounded by countless world ruins, these were lonely worlds, like the frontiers of hell.

"These worlds and dimensions don't have their own core... What happened here? Tell me."

Having understood Ron's meaning, Liana hesitated briefly before nodding and saying, "I understand... but I don't know why these worlds became like this in the first place. Because I accidentally entered this world during a space jump and couldn't leave, I can only communicate with the outside world through projection. And as far as I know, the reason the multiverse outside became like this is because the gods from the infinite multiverse are fighting each other."

"Struggle?"

“Yes,” Liana said. “Although I’m not entirely sure, based on the information I’ve gathered, this world in the multiverse is long dead, leaving only a seed hidden in some unknown corner. Some ambitious individuals, drawn by its scent, have come from other worlds. They fight and quarrel with each other, but their goal has always been the same: the seed of this world. Hmm, it could also be what you call the ‘Heart of the Dimension’? The Heart of the Dimension of this multiverse?”

With that, Liana simply gave up resisting and stood there with a stubborn, pleading expression, as if to say, "I'll tell you whatever you want to know, and then you can't hit me anymore~". She gave off an impression of being both obedient and annoying, sensible yet troublesome.

Ron didn't pay attention to Liana's little thoughts, and nodded thoughtfully after hearing her words.

Although Ron heard Liana's explanation, he didn't completely believe it. The main reason was Liana's own level of strength.

To ordinary people, Liana might seem incredibly powerful, and it would be understandable if she were worshipped as a deity in some ignorant ancient times. However, in Ron's view, she is ultimately an individual who has not ascended to godhood. Compared to ordinary mortals, she only possesses some flashy abilities, but is essentially no different.

This can also be seen from Liana's explanation just now.

They are not products of the Negative Multiverse, but rather individuals who accidentally entered it. While rare, such cases do occur. After all, if the Negative Multiverse can cause trouble at the World Tree, it's not surprising that some people from the World Tree might accidentally arrive in the Negative Multiverse.

However, as mentioned before, Liana is unaware of the relationship between the World Tree and the Upside-Down Tree. Or rather, most people are unaware. Like now, Liana only believes she has arrived in an unknown multiverse, without any clear understanding of which world she is in.

Even so, the message conveyed in Liana's words still cheered Ron up.

The seeds of the upside-down tree don't have an owner yet? Then what was that melody I heard before?

As he thought this, Ron's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Since so many ambitious people have come here drawn by the scent, there must be quite a few powerful individuals here."

"There are indeed a few."

Hearing Ron's question, Liana shrugged. Having quickly accepted the fact that she couldn't beat him, the rest wasn't so hard to accept.

Sure enough, Ron just asked casually, and Liana, with a blank expression, blurted out all the information she knew, like beans spilling from a bamboo tube.

"There are many ambitious individuals vying for the Seed of the World in this multiverse, and I am quite insignificant among them, only considered to be of mid-level strength. However, if the opponent is a mage, and it is a home game, even someone stronger than me might not be my match."

As she said this, Liana glanced at Ron without leaving a trace.

To be honest, she still didn't quite understand. Because the Soul Blade didn't need to inflict damage under certain circumstances; just touching it was enough to cause a mage's magical energy to surge wildly, rendering them unable to fight. And through countless battles, the Soul Blade had accumulated a vast amount of power. Even an ordinary person, not a mage, would be knocked unconscious the moment they touched it due to the mental shock.

The man before her barely reacted. His once-unstoppable Soul Blade seemed completely fake; it was only because this version of Liana was virtuous that she was so pure. If it were the sexually liberated, corrupted Liana, she'd probably be wondering by now if she'd plugged in the wrong thing last night, charging herself with purple mood.

If that thing leaks electricity, the damage can be quite severe.

"Who are the strongest among them?"

"The five strongest are called the God of Stories, the Bat of Laughter, the God of Darkness, the Father of Darkness, and the Titan of Destruction."

Liana said, "But now there are only four left. That guy who called himself the God of Darkness seems to have angered some more powerful deity, and he and his sword were blasted to pieces."
