I was watching American comic book short videos, and at the beginning, Iron Man was breaking down.

Chapter 218 The Soul Stone is Acquired; the Avengers and the Eternals Join Forces Against the Celest

After that, no one raised any further objections.

Even Captain America, who always has extremely high moral standards, was speechless.

Anyway, those death row inmates were supposed to die anyway, weren't they people who were meant to be executed?

Even if everyone does nothing, they still won't survive.

So since they're all going to die anyway, why not let their deaths make the most of their last bit of value?

Why not do something good for the world?

Captain America also agreed to Nick Fury's proposal.

Of course, this only meant agreeing to the proposal to use death row inmates.

Captain America remains firmly opposed to helping people with terminal illnesses.

In Captain America's view, even if those people don't have many days left to live and are living in great pain, the Avengers have no right to deprive them of their chance to live.

"OK, then let's use death row inmates who are about to be executed!"

Nick Fury was too lazy to argue with Captain America. If the other party insisted, then they would just use death row inmates; there was no difference anyway.

"The only worry now is whether the souls of those bad people can be traded for Soul Gems?"

Bruce Banner then raised this question.

"Red Skull only mentioned trading souls for souls, without mentioning any restrictions on the souls, right?"

"Furthermore, for the Soul Stone, a soul is simply a soul; how can there be a distinction between good and evil?"

Nick Fury made this assumption quite naturally.

After some discussion, the group members, though unsure of the situation, unanimously reached a decision.

Let's try it out with a death row inmate first.

After all, death row inmates also have relatives and friends, and people who love them, right?

The matter was thus reached a very pleasant agreement.

Thor acted swiftly, immediately sending Heimdall to Kamar-Taj and Vormir.

Then the Avengers quickly sprang into action.

Captain America, Banner, and Barton personally traveled to Kamar-Taj to try and borrow the Time Stone from the Ancient One.

As for the rest?

He, along with Nick Fury, a death row inmate, and his wife, gathered at the Avengers base.

"Thor, we are ready."

Seeing that it was about time, Lu Dan nodded to Thor.

"Heimdall!"

Thor looked up and called out to Heimdall in the direction of the sky.

Swish!

A beam of seven-colored light descended from the sky, instantly enveloping everyone present.

In an instant, everyone felt a blur before their eyes, and when their vision returned to normal, they found that the scenery around them had undergone tremendous changes.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. base they had been at had vanished, and now they found themselves in a dark and oppressive expanse of mountains.

"What... what's going on?"

The death row inmates and their spouses were completely dumbfounded.

The Avengers looked around and were all invigorated.

"This is it, yes, this is it!"

Tony nodded with satisfaction. This planet was indeed the same one that had appeared on the big screen, exactly the same.

"So, if we keep going forward, we'll encounter Red Skull, right?"

Black Widow shrugged slightly and muttered, "I wonder if we should be glad or disappointed that Rogers didn't come."

"Who can argue with that? They're old friends."

Lu Dan casually chimed in.

"Let's hope our method works."

Chris Hemsworth is eagerly anticipating this.

Welcome everyone!

As they were talking and walking, a voice suddenly came from behind them.

Everyone turned their heads to look in the direction of the sound, and sure enough, they saw the red skull shrouded in a robe, floating arrogantly in the air.

It was still slowly drifting towards them.

Because everyone already knew about this from the big screen, they remained calm and were not startled.

"Okay, so this is the legendary Red Skull."

Black Widow couldn't help but sigh softly.

"Natasha, Ivan's daughter!"

"Thor, son of Odin!"

"Tony Stark..."

"Wait a moment!"

Tony interrupted Red Skull halfway through his sentence, "I know you know all of our backgrounds, you know who our parents are. We know that. You don't need to tell us everything. There are quite a few of us here. It's a waste of time. Besides, this way of greeting is pretty low, isn't it?"

Red Skull: "..."

Why don't you play by the rules?

And how do you know I know all of your parents?

Why does it sound like they know I'm here?

"You seem to know something about this place?"

Red Skull voiced the question that had been lingering in his mind.

"That's right, we know you are the guide to the Soul Stone, and that's why we're here."

"So please lead the way, take us to that cliff where we can jump and get the Soul Gem."

Thor started urging Red Skull on.

Red Skull: "..."

I'm totally dumbfounded again!

What's going on?

Since I was brought here by the energy of the Cosmic Cube, so much time has passed and no one has ever set foot here before.

In other words, Red Skull, the guide, has never given directions to anyone.

This group of guys is the first to arrive!

But how do they know everything?

This doesn't make sense!

That doesn't make sense!

However, Red Skull naturally couldn't actually discuss this issue with the Avengers. He didn't say much, but simply continued to introduce them to the group.

"You are right, I am the guide who leads everyone to the Soul Stone."

"Since you all seem so eager, then come with me. I hope you're ready to get your hands on the Soul Gem."

Red Skull uttered those words meaningfully, then turned and led the way without saying anything more.

Before long, the group followed the Red Skull to that crucial cliff.

"The gem is down there, but to get it, you must lose your beloved, exchanging soul for soul. You should know that."

Red Skull explained the rules to everyone again.

"That's right, a skull. Thank you for your explanation. Now you can go and rest."

Tony waved his hand, dismissing the skull.

"It's time."

Nick Fury then walked up to the death row inmate.

The death row inmate glanced at Nick Fury, said nothing, and turned to give his wife a tight hug.

Without hesitation, he charged forward and leaped off.

"Is that enough? One soul should have been traded, but what about the gem?"

Everyone's attention then turned to the death row inmate's wife.

According to previous spoilers on the big screen, Barton obtained the Soul Stone after Black Widow's death.

next moment.

"Is this what you wanted?"

The wife of the death row inmate, who had just emerged from the soul space, reached out her hand in a state of panic and confusion.

Inside it was a bright orange gem.

"Great, it worked!"

"Guys, we really did it! This method really works!"

A smile of immense excitement immediately spread across Thor's face.

"Yes, we succeeded on our end. I wonder how things are going on Rogers' end."

Tony's only concern right now is the Time Stone that Rogers and his team are borrowing.

After all, the Ancient One said on the big screen that it was the Sorcerer Supreme's duty to protect the Time Stone, and that she even managed to unleash the Hulk's soul.

I wonder what the outcome will be for Rogers?

The group quickly contacted Captain America and his team through the chat channel on the big screen and inquired about their progress.

But they learned that the group was still on their way.

Come to think of it, according to the intelligence provided by Heimdall, Kamar-Taj is in Nepal, which is not exactly close.

Of course, Vormir is farther away, but since we weren't using any transportation, it was actually faster to teleport directly via the Rainbow Bridge.

So we'll have to wait a bit longer for Captain America's side.

However, Captain America was still very excited to hear that they had obtained the Soul Stone.

"Heimdall!"

Swish!

With Thor's call, the light of the Rainbow Bridge descended from the sky once more, teleporting the group back to the Avengers base.

"Thor, have you retrieved the Infinity Stones from the Collector?"

After everyone returned to the conference room and sat down, Lu Dan asked Hammer Brother a very important question.

"There was a small problem. I sent Vandall and a few others to the collector to retrieve the gems, but they returned empty-handed."

"The collector doesn't seem to want to return the gems, so I plan to go there myself."

Without hesitation, Chris Hemsworth told everyone the whole story.

"The worst has happened. I knew that so-called collector was unreliable."

Tony couldn't help but frown.

He had already learned about the Collector's background from Thor, knowing that the other party was an Elder of the Universe, the oldest life form in the universe.

Even someone like that probably couldn't resist the allure of the Infinity Stones, right?

Then, considering that the Infinity Stones were personally delivered by Asgard to the collector for safekeeping, everyone felt a pang of annoyance.

"Don't worry, I don't care what kind of cosmic elder he is or what his status is. What belongs to Asgard, I will definitely take back!"

Thor said it with absolute certainty.

While the Avengers were holding this discussion, the Eternals, scattered across the globe, gathered at Ajax's house.

Everyone sat in a circle on the campus of Ajax, their faces extremely solemn.

Because Ajax just admitted that everything shown on the big screen was true.

"So, we're really not the saviors of the Earth, but a bunch of executioners?"

Jin Ge, who was having a great time being a star in India, was completely at a loss for words.

"This is the most absurd thing I've ever heard, Ajax, why didn't you tell us this sooner?"

Fastos rubbed his face hard, then couldn't help but question Ajax.

"Phaostos, Ajak is the Supreme Eternal, a secret known only to her."

Cersei couldn't help but explain for Ajax.

"Really? Then how does Icarus know that too?"

The druid, who usually didn't talk much, suddenly spoke up, and his words hit the nail on the head.

This caused everyone to turn their attention to Icarus, filled with surprise and uncertainty.

Logically, all the other Eternals except Ajak should have been kept in the dark, including Icarus.

But druids don't speak without reason; after all, druids possess the ability to read minds.

"I don't need to read minds to know how calm Icarus reacted when Ajax revealed the truth. Was I the only one who saw it?"

The druid once again posed a probing question to Ajax: "So, Ajax, why did you keep it from all of us, but only tell Icarus?"

"Because none of you can accept this truth, only he can."

Ajax did not deny this, and the reasons given by the other party were impeccable.

"Everyone, now is not the time to dwell on this. What we need to discuss is how we should respond."

"Are we just going to stand by and watch this planet be destroyed?"

Cersei forcefully steered the conversation back on track, a hint of anxiety on her face; she didn't want this to happen.

"But what can we do? This is not something we can interfere with."

"So we're just going to let the end of the world happen? Ladies and gentlemen, I'm married, I have a family, and I'm not going to let my family die."

"You mean, we're going to stop God from appearing? Dude, do you know what you're talking about?"

"It's not about preventing God from appearing, but about allowing God to appear without destroying this planet. There must be a way to achieve both."

"Don't be delusional. What method could there be? Are you planning to massacre the Earth's population?"

The members of the Eternal Clan then began a fierce discussion.

"I want to save this planet."

Ajak had been listening quietly the whole time, not saying much, until this moment when he finally spoke.

But his words were exceptionally resolute.

"Ajax, do you mean you're going to destroy the God of War?" Icarus's gaze sharpened.

"No, our mission is to ensure the divine manifestation occurs, and as Cersei said, I must find a way to achieve both."

Ajax's attitude remained unchanged.

"Please, Ajax, there's no way to do that." Gilgamesh shook his head, thinking Ajax was just daydreaming.

"We don't have it now, but if we work together, we will!" Cersei echoed emphatically.

The other Eternals also started discussing it amongst themselves, but none of them held much hope for it.

"I plan to cooperate with the Avengers."

While everyone was discussing the matter inconclusively, Ajax once again said something that surprised everyone.

"You've all seen Thor's request to join the Avengers; he said the Avengers have a way to solve the Celestials' problem."

Seeing that everyone was staring at him, Ajax explained his reason.

Admittedly, the Eternals' consistent principle is not to interfere in matters concerning the mutant races, but these are extraordinary times.

Furthermore, since the existence of the Eternals has already been exposed on the big screen, cooperating with the Avengers is certainly not out of the question. (End of Chapter)
