Chapter 21 The Forgotten Squad

Wearing connected sun-shading goggles and a dark blue tracksuit, he carried a backpack in addition to his standard ninja tool bag.

The person who hit Uchiha Yu was his own clansman, the future most terrifying enemy of the Uchiha clan. Due to his mental deficiencies, he caused all sorts of trouble in daily life, and in battle, he could kill all his teammates. However, after turning to the dark side, he could wreak havoc on the ninja world. Uchiha Obito was the enemy Uchiha Yu needed to eliminate first.

Therefore, it is understandable that my own hand automatically hit him.

After all, he was one of the two enemies that Uchiha Yu had been thinking about day and night for the past eighteen years, and now he was so weak. He really wanted to kill him.

But that won't work.

Just as Uchiha Yu had entertained murderous intent, his blood and qi surged without warning, forcibly interrupting his thoughts. This was the second time Uchiha Yu had experienced this "whim" since the night he successfully established his foundation. Because he had already learned from the first experience, he didn't show any change in expression despite the tenfold increase in the intensity of his blood and qi.

Uchiha Yu was finally able to confirm that his previous guess was correct: Uchiha Obito had indeed been under the watchful eye of Uchiha Madara for a long time.

Perhaps in some corner nearby, there is one or more White Zetsu, staring at everyone with their inhuman eyes.

[I need to verify the accuracy of my whim and try to find a White Zetsu with maxed-out stealth skills.]

[The All-Knowing Eye, now activated!]

"Obito, you've bumped into someone again!"

A short brown-haired girl caught up with him, looking apologetic. She first complained to Obito, then turned to Uchiha Yu and bowed repeatedly, saying, "I'm so sorry, are you alright?"

As he bowed, Uchiha Yu had already seen the girl's appearance, especially the markings on her face, and could confirm that this was Rin, the one who almost caused the destruction of the ninja world.

"Ouch! Lin, I got bumped into, and he even hit me on the head!"

"Idiot, you bumped into him first, hurry up and apologize!"

"But I bumped into him accidentally, he hit me on purpose..."

"Uh, you apologize first, then we'll let others apologize..."

Uchiha Yu glanced at the other boy who was lagging behind. He was a genin who looked rather gloomy and had an ordinary face with no distinguishing features. He didn't recognize him at all.

Considering that Minato Namikaze would be leading a team of Obito, Rin, and Kakashi for the next year or two, and that this boy would most likely die in the war, Yuu Uchiha stopped paying attention to him.

Obito Uchiha protested defiantly, loudly demanding an apology from him first, which reignited Yuu Uchiha's anger. He flashed behind Obito and delivered a powerful punch to his head:

"Noisy."

Now is not the right time to kill Obito, but beating him up is definitely not a problem.

[Tsk, although I've suppressed my restless mind, I've also become more lively, and my emotions fluctuate quite a bit.]

Well, it's not a bad thing.

After taking a heavy punch, Obito's eyes rolled upwards, and he lay on the ground without uttering a sound.

Rin and the other genin were startled by the sudden attack. Rin cried out and rushed over to check on Obito's condition, while the boy took a step back and drew the short sword from his back as a precaution.

Uchiha Yu glanced at him, thinking to himself that this world was truly unfair. This genin, whose ninja skills were clearly superior, had died silently, while two completely unqualified ninjas had survived and become disciples of the Fourth Hokage.

He didn't want to explain too much, so he put on the Chunin vest he was wearing on his back and casually showed off the headband under his jacket.

The boy immediately dropped his guard and bowed respectfully.

Uchiha Yu returned the greeting according to the rules, but before he could even raise his head, Obito was woken up by Rin. He immediately yelled, "You bastard, who are you? Why did you hit me again?"

"I already said it was an accident, how could you hit me twice?"

"Uchiha! Obito!!" Uchiha Yu shouted expressionlessly, "Don't bring shame to the Uchiha clan anymore!"

The three-person team was completely dumbfounded. This Chunin was also from the Uchiha clan? Why didn't he have the Uchiha insignia on him?

Obito was completely bewildered: "You, who are you...?"

Bang-!

"what!"

"This fist... You're Uchiha Yu, you bastard! I've wanted to hit you for ages, and you still dare..."

Bang-!

"You, you hit me again!"

Bang-!

"Keep hitting me!"

Bang-!

"what!"

Bang-!

"Stop hitting me..."

Including the first slap, seven consecutive heavy blows finally subdued the stubborn Obito, who begged for mercy in a low voice.

Uchiha Yu knew that this guy had only temporarily given in and would probably forget the pain in the blink of an eye, but he had no intention of continuing the fight. He had vented enough for today. Now he needed to carefully maintain his composure and not do anything too excessively, lest he fuel his inner turmoil and cause himself trouble.

Obito Uchiha didn't dare to say a word; without his interference, understanding the situation would have been much easier.

It turns out they had accepted a mission to find a cat, and had already caught the target cat, returning to the Hokage Building to complete the mission. However, Obito, being a bit cheeky, kept teasing the cat and accidentally untied the bandages binding it, resulting in the cat scratching him and running away.

Realizing he had made a grave mistake, Obito recklessly chased after the cat, running wildly down the main road in the village, and bumped into the absent-minded Uchiha Yu.

"Article Six of the Konoha Ninja Code of Conduct prohibits ninjas from running at full speed on the village's main roads. Don't you know that at all?"

"Ninjas should prioritize their missions. Besides, who would abide by such arbitrary restrictions?"

"Fool, no one but you dares to disobey. Every rule of the ninja code of conduct is written with the blood of our predecessors."

"...I...I'm already being lenient, so I won't make any mistakes."

Ignoring Obito's forced explanation, Uchiha Yu said to himself, "Heh, as expected of Kenji, he's infuriatingly stupid, yet his luck is still pretty good."

"Luckily, it hit me instead. If you had continued chasing, you would have been on a busy commercial street. At the speed you were going, if you had hit an ordinary villager, it could have been fatal."

"You still want to be a ninja by then? You'd better go to jail!"

Obito was rendered speechless, so Rin had no choice but to step forward and defend herself, saying, "We were doing this to complete the mission..."

Uchiha Yu softened his tone and asked the girl, "Cats are animals with strong explosive power but poor endurance. When they run away, they use the terrain to climb walls and trees. Why didn't you chase them on the walls, but instead chased them on a busy street?"

The three genin all lowered their heads.

"You can't catch up with them on the wall?"

Lin stammered, "Yes, yes."

"How is that possible? Haven't you guys been trained in treading water and climbing trees?"

Obito jumped out again: "Don't underestimate people! Anyone can climb a tree!"

The ordinary boy, however, recognized that Yu was referring to some kind of training method, so he pulled Obito behind him and said to Yu, "Chunin-sama, we haven't practiced this."

Uchiha Yu was truly shocked: "This is basic genin training! What's going on with your captain?"

Lin replied, "Captain Yan Jian led us for a few days and then was transferred away. After that, we haven't had a captain since."

"what?"

Uchiha Yu never expected that the team Obito and Rin were in was actually the "forgotten" team.
