Elf: I Am a Farmer

Chapter 114 The Greenery Gym Challenge (Part 1)

"Xiaoxu, how did it feel to fly in the sky just now?"

Back on the ground, Naki first lifted the little girl, Xiaoxu, off the armored bird, then knelt down to ask her how she felt. 🐍👹 ➅9รн𝓤𝕩.cσΜ 🍭🐍

"Sister Naki, I want to become a trainer who is proficient in Flying-type Pokémon, just like you, and raise Pokémon that can carry me around everywhere."

Upon hearing Naki's question, Xiaoxu answered without hesitation.

Although she had only flown in the sky for a short time, the experience had been deeply etched into her mind, filling her with endless reverie about the sky.

This is precisely why Naki often takes the children of Greenwood City to play in the sky. She wants more children to enjoy the feeling of soaring in the sky and to cultivate more successors for the future of Greenwood Gym.

"Xiao Feng, let's go!"

After talking with the little girl Xiaoxu for a while, Naki planned to return to the Yinyu Gym with Chiba Kaede.

"Miss Naki, I'm not in a hurry. You can continue taking the children to play in the sky."

Chiba Kaede didn't want to spoil the children's fun because of her own reasons, so she made the suggestion.

"It's alright. I already told them that Xiaoxu is the last passenger today. As for her children, I can take them flying in the sky next time I have time."

Naki waved goodbye to the children while explaining to Chiba Kaede. ♡💗 ❻❾s𝓗𝕦𝔵.ςＯ𝐦 🏆💎

After saying goodbye to the children, Chiba Kaede followed Naki to a huge pyramid-like building. Of course, the top of the building was flat, and the middle was a path paved with stone steps, which could be climbed all the way up.

After walking for a long time, Chiba Maple finally arrived at a gate led by Nachi. This place was not even the top of the gym, but from this height, one could see the entire view of Lilycove City.

"Miss Naki, it must be tiring for you to climb such long stairs every day!"

Chiba Kaede said to Naki, slightly out of breath.

"No, actually it's because it's your first time visiting our Lilycove Gym, so I specially showed you around to see the unique features of our Lilycove Gym. Normally, I have Skarmory and the others carry me around."

Like Chiba Kaede, Naki had also climbed the stone steps for a long time and was now a little out of breath as she spoke.

"Um, that's really unnecessary!"

After hearing Naki's words, Chiba Kaede's face darkened, and he said irritably.

He had been obediently following Naki up the stairs for so long, thinking it was the rule of their Yuen Yu Dojo that challengers could only walk up!

"Well, okay, that does sound silly, but since we're already here, let's not dwell on it!"

After hearing what Chiba Kaede said, Naki stuck out her tongue and playfully brushed the matter off.

"Master Naki, you're back!"

At this moment, a young man in a gray suit walked up to them and greeted Naki.

During their subsequent conversation, Chiba Kaede learned that the young man in front of her was named Sega, and that he was Nakie's assistant. He usually helped Nakie handle the affairs of the Greenwood Gym and also served as the referee for battles at the Greenwood Gym.

"It's getting late today, and Xiaofeng, your Swellow has been carrying you for so long, you must be quite tired. How about we schedule our gym competition for tomorrow morning? What do you think?"

Naki then learned that Swellow had carried Chiba Kaede a long distance that day, so she didn't want to start a gym challenge with Chiba Kaede right away, feeling that this wouldn't test Swellow's true strength, and made a suggestion.

"No problem, we'll do as you say, Miss Naki. I guarantee that Swellow will be in top condition for the gym challenge tomorrow."

Chiba Kaede naturally had no objection to this and readily agreed.

"By the way, Xiaofeng, your Swellow should have learned the Tailwind ability by now, right?"

Naki had witnessed Swellow's amazing performance. Back then, Swellow was almost able to grasp the essence of the Tailwind skill by observing Altaria's flight.

"I've already learned it. I have to thank Miss Naki for your guidance. Otherwise, we might not even have been able to figure out the basics of the Tailwind skill."

Chiba Kaede thanked Naki sincerely.

The next morning, after having breakfast, Chiba Kaede followed Naki to the top floor of the Greenwood Gym, which is also the venue for gym battles.

After the two of them each took their positions on a type of lifting platform, the platform began to rise and stopped when it reached half its height.

After the two stopped, Segaga, acting as the referee, began to announce the rules of the match.

"The Gym Challenge between Chiba Maple from Spring Blossom Town and Lush Green Gym begins now. The competition will be a 3V3 battle. Gym Leaders are not allowed to change their Pokémon during the match, but Challengers can change their Pokémon at any time."

As Sega blew his whistle, both sides simultaneously sent out their first Pokémon.

Naki sent out Altaria, and Chiba Kaede immediately recognized it as the same Altaria that had raced against Swellow in the sky last time. It could be said that Swellow learned the Tailwind skill from her.

Chiba Kaede's team sent out Gastly. Among his Pokémon, only Swellow could rival Nachi's speed. However, Gastly could use its elusive movements to counter the opponent's speed advantage.

"Azure Bird, use Dragon Breath!"

Naki took the lead in commanding Altaria to launch an attack. Upon hearing the order, Altaria quickly approached Gastly and then spewed out a large amount of energy mixed with Dragon-type energy from its mouth, which quickly surged towards Gastly.

Having become accustomed to dealing with fast-moving opponents during its battle with Swellow, Gastly simply shifted slightly to the side to dodge the attack.

"Ghostly, Strange Light!"

After seeing that Ghoststone had dodged the attack, Chiba Kaede immediately issued a command.

Haunter's mastery of the strange light is now quite high. Upon receiving the order, it immediately condensed a ghostly light from its eyes and shot it at Altaria's eyes. This is the place that Haunter knows is the easiest to confuse its opponent.

As the strange light struck, the Azurebird's vision began to blur, and it saw double images of its surroundings, causing its flight path to become erratic, as if it were drunk.

"Haunter, use Shadow Ball!"

Taking advantage of the temporary chaos surrounding Altaria, Chiba Kaede instructed Gastly to seize the opportunity to attack.

Gastly, of course, wouldn't miss this opportunity, launching Shadow Balls one after another at Altaria. Unfortunately, Altaria's Special Defense was too high. Even after being hit by several Shadow Balls, it didn't lose its ability to battle. Instead, it recovered from the chaos by relying on the pain in its body.

"Tanabata Bluebird, use Mystic Protection!"

After seeing that the Azure Bird had recovered, Naki immediately gave the order.

With the release of the Mysterious Guardian skill, Altaria seemed to be covered by a thin veil. As long as this veil is present, Altaria can be protected from falling into abnormal statuses, effectively sealing off Gastly's status skills.

"Aladdin, use Tailwind, then peck!"

With the help of Tailwind, Altaria's speed has greatly increased compared to before. Gastly couldn't predict the direction of Altaria's attack and was directly hit by its peck attack, which was fatal for its weak defense.

"Ghostly is unable to battle; challenger may release the next Pokémon!"

After examining Gastly's condition, the referee, Sega, made his judgment immediately.

"Go on, fluffy sheep!"

Chiba Kaede recalled the Gastly, which had lost its ability to battle, into its Poké Ball. After comforting it, he released his second Pokémon, Shiny Goose, to join the battle.
