Douluo: Yun Ming in the Spirit Hall Era

Chapter 37 The Confidence Given by Yu Xiaogang

Chapter 37 The Confidence Given by Yu Xiaogang

After proposing the bet, Flanders added another sentence.

"Of course, if you don't want to gamble, that's fine too!"

As he said this, Flander was filled with anxiety and unease. If Yunming really didn't agree, his precious little money would be gone!

Now Flander only hopes that his judgment is correct, and that Yunming is someone who is not short of money.

Moreover, according to the information he learned from Zhao Wuji, Yun Ming is a very arrogant person, or rather, extremely confident in himself, and he is not afraid of challenges or bets! That's why Flander is doing everything he is doing now.

Yun Ming asked with interest when he heard that Flander wanted to make another bet.

"What do you want to bet on this time?"

Hearing Yun Ming's question, Flander breathed a sigh of relief. Asking about the bet showed that he was still interested. Thinking about the contents of his own bet, Flander became extremely confident.

"We'll bet you'll stay at Shrek Academy for a month, based on the amount of time you attend classes on your own!"

"If your class time exceeds half of our total teaching time, I win; if it's less than half, you win!"

"For the next month, you will not be considered a student of Shrek Academy. You are free to arrange your own schedule!"

Flander was confident he could win the bet because his brother, his beloved family and friends, and Yu Xiaogang, a master of spirit theory in the spirit master world born into the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, had already written to him, wanting to come and work with his old buddy, and would arrive in ten days.

Flander believed that with Yu Xiaogang's vast knowledge, he could surely impress the super genius before him and keep him at Shrek Academy. As for Yun Ming deliberately skipping classes, Flander didn't think so; he had the discernment to judge people. If Yun Ming attended more than half the classes, would he really leave Shrek Academy afterward?!

Yun Ming was a little surprised to hear Flander's confidence. Knowing that he came from a prestigious family of Soul Masters, why would he dare to bet with him on this? Were their Soul Master teaching methods really that excellent? Interesting! After thinking for a moment, Yun Ming spoke up.

"Okay, I accept the bet!"

While Flander's assessment of Yun Ming was correct—Yun Ming was indeed not short of money and was not afraid of challenges—not being afraid did not mean he would accept. What truly prompted Yun Ming to agree to the bet was the content of the bet itself.

Yun Ming himself had his own needs regarding Shrek Academy. He needed to understand Shrek Academy to unlock the memories of the person in his mind, but the information he currently possessed, some of which was of dubious authenticity, was not enough. Seeing is believing, and he had to go and see for himself. Since Yun Ming was going, he might as well take the gamble.

Furthermore, Yun Ming learned a new piece of information: was Shrek Academy particularly skilled in Soul Master education? Yun Ming was eager to find out.

"But how can a bet be made with only one side placing the bet?" Yun Ming continued to ask.

"but..."

"If I lose, I have to pay compensation. What about if you lose?!"

When Yunming mentioned the bet, Flander was conflicted. As an Iron Cathawk, he only wanted to be stingy and get something for nothing. Even though he felt that he had a high chance of winning, there was still a possibility of losing.

But without setting a bet, the wager couldn't be made, and he was reluctant to give up the living advertisement right in front of him. After thinking for a long time, Flander still couldn't come up with a bet he was willing to give up, and finally had to ask Yunming.

What do you want?

Looking at the stingy Flander in front of him, Yun Ming suddenly felt a surge of inexplicable anger. He wondered what kind of person this was, daring to be the dean of Shrek Academy. A feeling of shame at being associated with such a person lingered in Yun Ming's heart.

Then, Yun Ming spoke directly to Flander's vitals.

"If you lose, you'll have to pay me 50,000 gold soul coins. If your academy's courses don't satisfy me, wasting a month's worth of time and you only have to pay me this much—that's more than enough!"

Hearing Yun Ming's cold words, Flander was completely taken aback; his Achilles' heel had been caught!

Flander instinctively wanted to refuse, but considering Shrek's current situation and seeing the boy in front of him who could bring hope to Shrek, Flander decided to take a gamble. It's just 50,000, right? He could just forfeit his life savings.

Dean Flander did his best for the development of Shrek Academy. The poor development of Shrek Academy was simply due to his lack of ability, and it was not because he didn't care!

"Fine!" Flander forced himself to agree to Yun Ming's morally reprehensible request.

Upon hearing Flander's agreement, Yunming made the decision.

"Alright then! When do you start classes?"

It's currently the start of the new school year for all the major Soul Master academies, and Yun Ming, having never studied outside of school, isn't quite sure about the exact dates.

Flander breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that things were basically settled, but he still felt a little uneasy!

"Three days later!"

Yun Ming nodded in understanding. Then, out of courtesy, he extended an invitation to Flander.

"Would you like to have breakfast together?"

When Flander heard that he could get a free meal, especially from a high-end hotel, he was overjoyed. His unease vanished instantly, and he spoke with feigned seriousness.

"In that case, I'll take my leave!"

I'm currently reading the error-free version! This is the first time I've published this novel.

Yun Ming: "..."

But it didn't matter, it was just a meal. The two then headed towards the hotel restaurant.

Then, after many years, Flander once again ate such an expensive breakfast. Looking at the highly nutritious and delicious food that Yun Ming had ordered, Flander suddenly remembered the glorious days when the Golden Iron Triangle dominated the world of Soul Masters.

Although Flander was stingy back then, he had a partner who loved to spend money like water!

As a woman who could afford to be sent to a college, you can imagine how wealthy she was. That period not only brought him spiritual joy (woof woof woof), but also material satisfaction.

Witnessing Flander's vengeful, starving act, the entire restaurant was speechless. Yun Ming also felt a little regretful; it wasn't about the money, but rather the embarrassment!

Then Yunming ordered another serving to be delivered to his room and quickly said goodbye to Flander.

After saying goodbye to Flanders, Yunming returned to his room, where he ate breakfast while reflecting on what had just happened.

Three days later, following Flander's instructions, Yun Ming walked along the south gate of Soto City, past the main road and vast farmlands. After walking for a long time, he finally saw a village with about a hundred households. The village was surrounded by a wooden fence, seemingly for protection against wild animals. Moreover, a number of people were gathered at the village entrance.

Seeing this scene, Yun Ming understood: they had arrived!

However, upon actually seeing such a bizarre academy, Yun Ming's expectations for this academy's expertise in Soul Master education suddenly became much less intense!

At the village entrance stood a table, behind which sat an elderly man in his sixties. Hanging on the wooden archway at the village entrance was a somewhat worn plaque bearing the simple five characters: Shrek Academy. Before these characters was a green portrait, resembling a monster's head. Green, somewhat cute. The old man behind the table also wore a similar green circular badge on his chest. It was likely the emblem of Shrek Academy.

Yun Ming walked to the back of the group and quickly sensed three young men whose soul power fluctuations exceeded level twenty-five, two of whom were even at level twenty-nine. Although they couldn't compare to Yun Ming, according to the status of the Breaking Clan, these two were considered top geniuses, even stronger than Yang Yi, within the clan!

Could it be that Shrek Academy really has something special? Yun Ming couldn't help but wonder, otherwise, what's the deal with these three people!

P.S.: There isn't much of a Shrek Academy storyline, and I won't be going to the Star Dou Great Forest for Soul Hunting. The next part of the story after Shrek Academy involves Yun Ming meeting Ya Li and his memories fully returning.
