Douluo Continent, Huo Yuhao who returned from Sekiro

Chapter 659 Huo Yuhao just needs to focus on the competition, but the gambler (6K)

Iron, a rare metal, has a very interesting characteristic: it has exceptionally good thermal conductivity.

Therefore, it is best not to use this kind of soul tool to independently create a remote soul tool, otherwise it is easy to accidentally fire it while fighting and start shooting wildly out of control.

Generally speaking, this type of soul tool is one of the best choices for soul masters to make fire-attribute melee soul tools. However, when making this type of melee soul tool, it is necessary to make several handles with sufficient heat insulation.

Huo Yuhao, however, clearly had other ideas. Holding the Flaming Sun Iron in his hand, he directly shaped it into a long strip and began to mold it.

"It's happening! He's crushing rare metal with his bare hands and inscribing a soul-guiding core array with his fingertips!"

"I'm still betting on the other players. This guy's odds are too low. I'm afraid this is a bait that Xishui Alliance is using to concede. Odds of 50 to 1, damn it."

"Absolutely, absolutely. I saw this person making soul tools in the last competition. The speed was just too fast. He's not even on the same level as the other contestants. I guess the Xishui Alliance hired him specifically to prey on us casual players. Who knows, if we get carried away, he might just withdraw from the competition."

At this moment, whispers about Huo Yuhao had already begun to circulate outside the arena. The scene of Huo Yuhao holding a piece of rare metal in the previous match and then shaping it into a soul tool was so shocking that it attracted the attention of many people.

If this were a legitimate casino, the sudden appearance of such a formidable competitor would likely cause many to scramble to leverage their bets, trying to borrow 10,000 gold soul coins to bet on Huo Yuhao, hoping to earn 200 gold soul coins for free once the competition ended.

But in the black market casinos, Huo Yuhao only needs to focus on the competition, while the gamblers have many other things to consider.

Is the opponent a bait set up by the organizers? Will Huo Yuhao withdraw from the competition? Is it really appropriate to gamble so heavily on a player with such low returns?

Huo Yuhao had no time to care about what these people were thinking. After finishing shaping the rare metal, Huo Yuhao once again conjured a tiny frost carving knife at the tip of his right finger and directly inscribed the soul guidance core array on the shaft of the metal rod.

Normally, the proper manufacturing process for a soul tool should follow three steps: core array – inner shell – outer shell.

Although the manufacturing process has little impact on the final product of the soul tool, almost all soul tool masters do it this way.

Perhaps he wasn't confident in his skills and was afraid that the core magic array and inner shell he made wouldn't fit.

However, Huo Yuhao's soul tool manufacturing process was completely reversed: first the outer shell, then the inner shell, and finally the core array was inscribed directly inside.

Large shards of metal fell to the ground with a whooshing sound as Huo Yuhao moved his fingers. This was not because Huo Yuhao deliberately wanted to be unconventional, but because he already had a complete model of the soul tool in his mind.

Now, all he needs to do is remove the impurities from a whole piece of rare metal and extract the soul tool he wants from it.

Many spectators and referees who also had some knowledge of soul tools realized what Huo Yuhao was doing and couldn't help but marvel.

Extracting the desired soul tool from a piece of rare metal, with the outer shell, inner shell, and core array all forged from the same rare metal, sounds similar to extracting a statue with soft lines and full tension from a piece of marble. In reality, the difficulty is worlds apart!

Putting aside everything else, the fine processing of the inside of a soul tool is a skill that many soul masters can't fully understand in their entire lives. At most, they can only make the core array on the outside and then install it inside.

However, Huo Yuhao, who possesses the Hand of Immortality, has no such concerns. He can even process the internal structure of the Soul Tool through the outer shell using cold air. With the assistance of mental detection, doing so is almost effortless.

At this time, the soul tool that Huo Yuhao made was roughly complete, and many viewers also recognized what Huo Yuhao had made: a short spear.

Yes, it wasn't a spear or a long spear, but a short spear that was only about 1.2 meters long.

However, unlike ordinary short spears, the spearhead and shaft of Huo Yuhao's spear are not on the same horizontal line, but are staggered. There is a small, dark hole at the end of the entire shaft, and a large amount of metal fragments are falling to the ground through this hole.

Do more!

Both judges on the panel shook their heads in unison. If the goal was to make a short spear-type melee weapon, the shaft and tip should be made on the same horizontal line.

However, Huo Yuhao's method of preparing soul tools from the outside in resulted in him having to leave a small hole so that rare metal fragments could flow out, even though he had mastered the method of refining the inside of rare metals.

Showy but impractical!

The two Level 6 Soul Master judges exchanged a glance and both gave a less than satisfactory evaluation.

However, the head referee on the field frowned, watching Huo Yuhao who was busy at work, feeling that the soul tool Huo Yuhao was making was not that simple.

In particular, Huo Yuhao's habit of always raising the entire short spear, placing the end in front of him, and looking into the distance along the shaft to check the straightness of the spear always made the chief referee feel that what Huo Yuhao made was not just a flashy but impractical creation.

After inscribing all the core formations inside, Huo Yuhao quietly activated his Wind Control ability, blowing out all the metal fragments and residues inside the soul tool to prevent any foreign objects from entering the rifling. Only then did he nod in satisfaction.

"I'm done."

Huo Yuhao placed the short spear on the table and was the first to raise his hand, indicating that he had finished.

"This contestant, I must remind you, this is not a speed race. There is a competitive stage later on, and you will be at a disadvantage if your soul tool is too low-level."

Only half an hour had passed. Even the two fastest competitors, number 96 and 98, excluding Huo Yuhao, had only finished half of their task.

They were clearly making level 5 soul tools, and their speed was much slower than last time.

"I'm certain that my soul tool is complete."

Huo Yuhao nodded, then got up again without hesitation and walked towards the VIP area, just like he always did when he participated in competitions.

A waiter quickly took Huo Yuhao's short spear and handed it to the three referees.

The three referees only glanced at it before they couldn't help but gasp.

In half an hour, a level 5 melee soul tool was completed. Whose prodigy was unleashed to scare away the fish? They are still just fry!
