Douluo Continent, Huo Yuhao who returned from Sekiro

Chapter 161 of the paper is out (10,000 words per day)

While the bigwigs were chatting and laughing, the purification process of the Soul-Devouring Blade was nearing its end.

The extremely magnificent and sacred golden flames falling on the blade were like pouring a pot of boiling oil onto ice.

As if in a death throes, a dense blue light suddenly burst forth from its body, forming a ferocious face in the air, roaring madly.

In response, Huo Yuhao simply increased the output of his soul power to the Divine Sword Soul Skill. With a 'whoosh' sound, the originally ferocious appearance suddenly became blurry.

A bluish light swirled around it, but from within that light, wisps of black energy evaporated and vanished under the influence of the sacred flames. The bluish light on the Soul-Devouring Carving Blade also began to become increasingly pure and gentle.

The purification process was very short. Soon, the last wisp of black energy on the Soul Devouring Blade disappeared quietly, and the blue light emitted by its body became as clear as water, without any impurities.

The original dark black body of the carving knife has turned into something like a blue crystal, and a ball of golden flame is slowly burning on the blade.

The purpose of the Divine Blade is, after all, to enchant weapons. The exorcism process just now was at most a byproduct. Only when the entire blade was covered with golden flames did the infusion of soul power by the Divine Blade soul skill stop, and instead began to flow steadily with soul power, only maintaining the continuous burning of the golden flames on the blade.

He casually flicked the 'Soul Devouring Blade' in his hand a few times, severing the infusion of soul power into the sacred blade. The golden flames burning on the Soul Devouring Blade slowly dissipated, revealing a clear, translucent cyan blade.

Ning Ge was even more confused at this point. Was it really resolved so easily? And what about that hideous ghost face? How come it disappeared after only a few seconds?

He placed the Soul-Devouring Blade flat in his palm, and its original ferocious aura had completely vanished.

The carving knife felt warm and smooth to the touch, emitting no particular aura; it truly felt like it had been carved from crystal. If it weren't for the unchanging, ancient patterns on the knife, anyone would have thought that Huo Yuhao had secretly swapped it for a similar tool and placed it in his palm.

"Brother Ning, could you take a look at this for me?"

A barely suppressed smile appeared on Huo Yuhao's lips. Ning Ge was also somewhat excited. He took the purified 'Soul-Devouring Blade' from Huo Yuhao with both hands, played with it for a while with it, and then closed his eyes to carefully sense it for a moment before letting out a long sigh:

"Yuhao, you've really struck gold this time! After you purified this carving knife, its quality has skyrocketed. If the previous Soul-Devouring Blade could only rank ninety-ninth among the listed carving knives, then this carving knife is now undoubtedly ranked ninth!"

Ning Ge reluctantly returned the carving knife to Huo Yuhao before saying, "The value of your carving knife is no less than that of a ferocious beast-level soul bone. Do not show it in public. Its value even exceeds that of the two listed carving knives in the hands of our Dean Xian Lin'er and Teacher Fan Yu."

"A ferocious beast-level soul bone?"

Huo Yuhao was somewhat surprised upon hearing this.

"good."

Ning Ge nodded and said, "If an ordinary engraving knife is worth as much as a 100,000-year-old soul bone, then the engraving knife in your hand is at least comparable to a soul bone produced by a 200,000-year-old ferocious beast. This small engraving knife may be worth as much as a small city, and it is priceless."

After Ning Ge explained it to him, Huo Yuhao roughly understood the value of the carving knife. He nodded and carefully put the carving knife away. Huo Yuhao then took out a stack of documents.

"Brother Ning, we can ask the teacher for more funding."

Huo Yuhao handed the document to Ning Ge, who sat down with interest and flipped through it.

"An Improvement of Soul Bone-Type Melee Soul Guidance Devices Based on the 'Forging Method'—A Discussion and Analysis of the Advantages of Modular Nesting"

"We'll go see the teacher later. If the modular disassembly method can also be applied to thousand-year-old soul bone melee soul tools, then the technology we have will not only be of discussion and technical significance, but will also represent huge market value."

Ning Ge glanced at the technical documents Huo Yuhao had compiled and said excitedly, "If this technology can also be used on ten-thousand-year-old soul bones, junior brother, do you know what that means?"

Huo Yuhao was taken aback by Ning Ge's question: "Representative... the technology we developed has been successfully applied to the ten-thousand-year-old soul bone?"

Ning Ge rolled his eyes at Huo Yuhao's answer, and said with exasperation, "This means that our Shrek Academy has achieved a breakthrough in a very small branch of the Soul Guidance System, surpassing the top technology of the Sun and Moon Academy."

"Don't underestimate this technology, which is only a small branch of technology and takes advantage of the fact that the Sun Moon Empire has little research on soul bones. If it is operated properly, we may be able to use this technology to deal a heavy blow to the Sun Moon's melee soul guide market."

"The power of soul bone-type melee soul tools is undeniable, but their production cost is also the most expensive of all melee soul tools. The biggest drawback of this type of soul tool is that it cannot be disassembled, replaced, or upgraded."

"Don't underestimate this technology. It solves some of the most troublesome problems of soul bone melee soul tools. In other words, the originally niche soul bone melee soul tools may become the absolute mainstream soul tools for the next thousand years because of this technology."

Huo Yuhao was stunned by Ning Ge's words. Because of the technology that he and Ning Ge had developed, soul bone-type melee soul tools might ascend to the throne of "absolute mainstream soul tools for the next thousand years"?

Although it was unclear how the academy would orchestrate a surprise attack on the Sun Moon Empire's melee soul guide market, Huo Yuhao could understand the immense significance behind this technology simply from Ning Ge's words.

"Brother Ning, this is just a technology that we developed in just one month after initiating the project. It's unlikely, isn't it?"

Huo Yuhao swallowed hard. Could this really happen to him?

He and Ning Ge didn't make many changes to the soul bone type melee soul tools. They simply changed the casting method to the nesting method. How could such a small, insignificant change made by a makeshift team of level two and level five soul masters turn into a hurricane that swept through the melee soul tool market?

Upon hearing this, Ning Ge simply shook his head mysteriously: "Yuhao, you don't understand, you don't understand at all. In the field of soul guidance technology research and development, the importance of luck is beyond your imagination."

At this point, Ning Ge even gave a bitter smile.
