Chapter 80 The Discourse on Banquet Confrontation

Chapter 80 The Discourse on Banquet Confrontation

The night of the second day.

Elliott Estate.

In a south-facing room, Gino adjusted his tie.

Her slightly wavy blonde hair paired with a black fitted suit accentuated her robust physique.

Gino straightened his tie, gazing calmly at himself in the mirror.

"Hey, Gino, don't forget there's a party tonight!" Thomas's voice rang out from outside the door.

"I remember," Gino replied loudly, his eyes falling on the canvas bag in the corner, a playful look in his eyes. "I'm looking forward to attending a gathering of Gotham's elite."

This cat-and-mouse game

Gino tightened his grip on the expensive watch on his wrist.

He is ready.

The young man stepped out of the room. Looking at the handsome boy, Thomas, a middle-aged man with brown hair, loosened his tie and laughed, "To be honest, you're as handsome as I was when I was young."

Gino shrugged; he had nothing to say about his shameless uncle.

The two went upstairs to the living room.

Leticia, who had just undergone psychotherapy, lay asleep on the sofa, covered with a soft blanket.

Not far away sat a bespectacled female doctor wearing a white coat and with beautiful blonde hair.

The girl wore a knee-length skirt and black stockings, paired with black high heels, making her look youthful and beautiful.

A pair of beautiful blue eyes gazed at the doll in Leticia's hand, her pretty face thoughtful.

"Dr. Harleen, what's the diagnosis?"

Thomas scratched his head, stepped between the two, and glanced at the sleeping Leticia, a hint of guilt flashing in his eyes.

"Huh? Oh, her brain nerves have suffered irreversible damage."

Harleen pursed her lips, gently stroking the sheer black stockings on her thighs. The woman slowly stood up, her small nose twitching behind her black-rimmed glasses. After a moment's hesitation, she whispered, "To be honest, the chances of recovery are slim."

"Her mental state was severely damaged."

"In addition to the effects of brain nerve compression and living environment, she developed an avoidant personality."

"I only want to remember the memories I want to remember." Harlin looked at Leticia, and for some reason, a hint of envy flashed in her eyes.

No one can escape their past, except for those with mental illness.

Gino silently glanced at Leticia, who was fast asleep.

It seems that Dr. Harlin's medical skills are quite good.

His gaze swept over Dr. Harlin.

Bright, large eyes, a pert nose, and rosy lips.

Could this woman be the future infamous Harley Quinn?

Gino felt a faint sense of anticipation.

If so, it means he can harvest points from it.

"Anyway, thank you very much, Dr. Harleen."

Thomas smiled and pulled a few bills from his wallet.

He was just about to slip the money into Harleen's hand.

But Thomas glanced at the clock on the wall and slapped his forehead in annoyance: "Damn it, Gino, do you have a dance partner?"

Gino paused for a moment, then shook his head.

He had just arrived in Gotham and had virtually no social life, so where would he find a dance partner?

"Then," Thomas said, glancing at Harleen, "Miss Harleen Francis Quezel."

Would you like to attend a dinner party with Gino?

Harlin glanced at the handsome young man, then at the ink stains on her hands.

Feelings of inferiority gripped Harlin's heart.

The girl instinctively shook her head: "No, forget it, I... I don't want to go."

"Oh, that's a real shame." Thomas winked at Gino. "Looks like you'll have to come to the banquet with me."

"If there's a next time, I hope you can arrange a dance partner in advance."

"Perhaps."

Iceberg Restaurant.

This long-established restaurant was originally founded by the Copport family and is Gotham's oldest upscale restaurant.

Melodious and classical music echoed in the magnificent restaurant.

Countless expensive sports cars of various models were parked outside the restaurant.

Those who come here to attend the banquet are all wealthy and powerful.

The hall was filled with guests, and laughter filled the air.

"Buzz!"

A Lamborghini roared to a stop outside the restaurant.

The obedient servant quickly opened the car door for the owner.

Bruce, dressed in a suit, strode out of the sports car with his long legs.

"This car is so cool!"

The cool sports car design drew heartfelt praise from the servants.

Bruce chuckled nonchalantly: "Perhaps you should take a look at the other one."

A smile curved his thin lips beneath his high, straight nose, and the passenger door opened, revealing two black-haired, blue-eyed women in elegant gowns stepping out of the car.

This steamy scene immediately led those who witnessed it to label Bruce Wayne as a "playboy."

"Sir, please follow me. Your seat is over here."

Two female companions took Bruce's arms and escorted him to the center of the hall.

"Bruce!"

A surprised voice rang out, and then Bruce saw a man stand up from one of the tables of guests.

"Thomas!?"

Bruce's face also lit up with joy.

There are three things in life that make you happy.

In good health.

Dreams come true.

Old friends reunite.

Bruce and Thomas are good friends.

They grew up together until Bruce chose to travel the world as an adult, while Thomas chose to become a surgeon.

Thomas laughed and walked forward, opening his arms to hug Bruce.

It's clear that their friendship hasn't faded over time.

"Come with me, let me introduce you to my nephew."

Bruce followed Thomas to the dining table.

"Gino Luther, my sister's son, and one of the heirs of the famous Luther family."

Bruce looked at the smiling young man.

The man sat in a chair with one leg crossed over the other, looking languid and casual, as if he were the owner of the restaurant.

The two locked eyes.

The next instant, a strange sense of fear suddenly rose in Bruce's heart.

The terrifying feeling made Bruce instinctively tense up.

He didn't understand how this feeling came about.

It seemed that the young man sitting in the chair posed a constant threat to his life.

Bruce's training with the League of Assassins gave him an extremely sharp sixth sense, which told him that this young man was dangerous.

However, judging from his physique and appearance, Gino seemed to be just a young man in his early twenties.

With the exuberance and energy unique to young people, how could such a young man possibly inspire fear in him?

"hello."

Gino interrupted Bruce's thoughts.

He heard Gino's voice in his ear, his azure eyes deep and mysterious: "I am Gino Luther."

The boy smiled, stood up, and extended his hand to Bruce: "Nice to meet you."

Bruce remained silent, then extended his hand as well.

The two hands were clasped tightly together and then separated.

The two took their seats.

The atmosphere was somewhat silent for a while.

Gino fiddled with the cutlery on the table, smiling at Bruce.

He initiated the conversation: "Mr. Bruce, I haven't been in this city long. What are your thoughts on Gotham?"

Thank you so much, White Dove, for the 300 coins!
