Chapter 64 Conflict and Escape
Chapter 64 Conflict and Escape
"Da da da".
The clock was still ticking.
But Earl, lying in his hospital bed, was experiencing a turbulent internal struggle.
Terror and helplessness swept over every cell and limb of his body, seeping into his internal organs, leaving the black man with his eyes wide open and his thick lips parted but unable to utter a sound.
The word "loser" kept repeating in his mind.
These two words occupied too much of his life, and his current miserable state was inextricably linked to the surname "Luther".
Earl had also fantasized about punching someone from the Luther family hard in the face if he ever met them.
but.
Gino stood there, his azure eyes fixed silently on Earl.
He didn't know what was going on. Being watched by Gino, he felt only endless fear. The experience etched into his DNA urged Earl to run and scream, as if the person standing at the head of the bed was not a human, but a ferocious white tiger.
"This is absurd."
Earl swallowed hard, suppressing the fear in his heart, while clenching his fists.
"You, you're from the Luther family?"
"I'm the one asking you a question." Gino's expression was impatient, and his eyes gradually turned a dark blue.
The air around them seemed to drop slightly as Earl stared in horror at the arms covered in goosebumps.
"Answer my question: What was Lionel doing at the chemical plant ten years ago?"
Gino has never liked his father, an ambitious and wicked nemesis, who didn't even attend his grandfather's funeral.
He even suspected that if Lionel were given enough benefits, the man would be willing to sell his soul.
Earl, his voice trembling with fear, managed to speak: "No, you're from the Luther family! The Luthers are all liars!"
"Alright, this is your choice." Gino wasn't going to waste time with the black man; he was going to freeze him and take him back to the underground base for interrogation.
"Gino!"
The door was pushed open roughly, interrupting Gino's thoughts.
The boy turned around and saw Clark rushing in with a look of anxiety on his face.
Clark's gaze swept over the hospital bed, past the expressionless Gino and the terrified Earl. He breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed his friend hadn't yet made the fatal move.
"Gino, listen to me, there's a misunderstanding here." Clark walked to Gino's side, looking at the boy's azure eyes, slightly stunned.
Clark wondered to himself, "Why do Gino's eyes seem even brighter these days?"
"Clark".
Gino glanced at the boy and said, "I'm going to ask him what he saw at Luther's factory. I can help him if needed."
This is not a lie. For Gino, finding out what Lionel did at the factory ten years ago was far more important than killing Earl.
"you're right."
Clark smiled; Gino's unusually gentle attitude pleased him.
He turned to Earl and said, "Earl, Gino is my friend, he's a good man."
Clark said sincerely, "You can trust him."
Since he had said that, Earl should be able to believe him.
But to Clark's surprise, Earl frowned and looked resentful: "No, the Luther family are all bad people, Clark, you've been deceived by him!"
Earl was agitated, and his hands trembled with nervousness.
He felt betrayed.
"Splash!"
Clark witnessed a scene he knew all too well: the black man's body convulsed violently, the handcuffs shattering with incredible speed.
"He's trying to run away." Gino didn't hesitate, his eyes shooting out beams of pure blue light.
"etc!"
Clark's expression changed drastically, and he stepped in front of Earl to block him.
Clark raised his arm,
"Snapped!"
A deep blue beam of light struck Clark's steel arm.
"Buzz!"
A deep blue light slowly enveloped Clark's entire arm.
Clark frowned slightly, looking at his arm with a puzzled expression.
"it hurts!"
The plaid jacket was quickly covered with a thick layer of frost, and the piercing pain made Clark's face contort in agony.
"Buzz!" The freezing rays kept hitting Clark's arm, and the original frost was also condensing into crystal-clear ice at an extremely fast speed, covering Clark's entire arm.
Earl, who had been rescued by Clark, also stopped trembling. Without hesitation, the black man scanned his surroundings with his dark green eyes, his gaze settling on the window behind him.
"Splash!"
The black man clutched his head and smashed through the glass before leaping straight off the two-story building.
"Gino!"
When Chloe and Pete arrived, they saw blue beams of light bombarding Clark.
"Buzz!"
The powerful, sky-blue beam of light propelled Clark backward, pinning him against the wall.
Clark lowered his head and could only raise his arms to block the beam of light with difficulty.
He could not back down; his father's friends were behind him.
Soon, Clark's lower body, which was enveloped by the beam of light, was also covered with a thick layer of polar ice.
"Gino, stop! What are you doing?"
Chloe lunged forward and grabbed Gino's arm, trying to stop him.
"call."
Gino slowly exhaled a cold breath, Chloe's call bringing him back to his senses.
The boy extinguished the frozen light in his eyes.
At this moment, the ward was filled with a cold mist emanating from the ice, which floated throughout the room.
Clark was half-submerged in an icicle in the corner, his handsome, thick eyebrows wet with frost. The terrifyingly cold temperature made Clark shiver uncontrollably.
Clark struggled to lift his frost-covered eyelids and tried to break free from the frost's grip with his legs, but found he couldn't move an inch.
Helpless, Clark could only raise his arms and look at Gino, saying sincerely, "Gino, there must be some misunderstanding."
"Clark." Gino gritted his teeth, furious at Clark's choice. "That guy got away."
"And he's a murderer, and you just let him go?"
"Have you forgotten about Gray?"
Gino gave Clark a long look; he was disappointed with Clark's choice.
After saying that, the boy turned and left.
He was going to find out where Earl had gone.
After Gino left, the tense atmosphere in the room melted away. In a corner, Pete, barely daring to breathe, greedily inhaled the cool air, hugging his arms as he looked around and exclaimed, "This is incredible!"
"Gino can actually shoot freezing rays from his eyes!?"
Pete glanced at Clark, who was frozen in the ice, and said with a mischievous grin, "Clark, can you shoot beams of light from your eyes too?"
Hearing Pete's words, Clark fell silent. The big boy tried to use his eyes to sense the energy, but there was no response.
Clark shook his head with a wry smile: "No, I can't do it."
The boy's gaze swept over the ice shards on the ground, his heart filled with solemnity.
Unbeknownst to him, Gino had become much stronger.
Is this related to the fact that the other person disappeared for the past few days?
What does this have to do with that chemical plant?
Suppressing his doubts, Clark forced an awkward smile: "Now, quickly find a shovel to get me out of here, it's too cold!"
